Dirty Steve and I joked that the new eatery on I-Street was going to be a Chipolet. Unfortunately, in the spirit being a theme park, they'd probably charge $11 per burrito.

The worst thing about it was how you always had that chopping of a helicopter over head. It gets old quickly. I'm glad it's gone.
-
Thanks for all of the kind words. I got tired of just pointing and shooting for hours on end and decided to get artistic... plus I'm sure you guys know what the park looks like anyway. I intend to bring you more photos like this in the near future. Ryan

Both Congo and WWC have their own resevoirs. I can't swear by this, but I'm pretty sure that they are either chlorinated or treated in some way (although the water doesn't necessarily smell like chlorine). They probably wouldn't be able to just use any water they wanted... that would be dangerous.

I believe that they are wooden, but you can clearly see them.. They're say, 15 or so feet into the woods on SoB... check them out now before all the trees get leaves.
-
Mothers day or not, it will be crowded beyond your wildest dreams. If you go, write a trip report!

On AE, while you're being towed up the hill before the helix, look foreward into the woods (slightly to the right) and you'll see an unidentified building... it's small and looks vacant. I assume it's from the safari. If you ride SOB, look behind yourself on the lift hill and you'll see them in the woods.

Wow... watch your words, some people may take that as a racial comment, but we know what you mean. And yes, anime is the worst thing...ever... and speaking from the perspective of a Best Buy employee, I can say that anime is one of the most stolen products we have. I guess I can understand a bit, I mean, you'd have to actually pay me to take it...

Please don't make light of such a situation. The reason why it malfunctioned is because the floats a Disney parks run on e-tracks and for some reason, it went off of it. Why did he get run over? Who knows. Maybe he was standing right next to it and it knocked him over immediately. I really can't say, I wasn't there.

If you guys come up with an official date, I'll go ahead and pin a roster.
-
Would you guys like me to pin a roster?
-
Care to give us a lesson in Italian ebonics at the next meeting? You should have had Yukari cuss her out in Japanese just so we can have bad blood from all of the corners of the world.

It's more that the park believes that the phrase "water park" doesn't quite cover exactly how expansive, themed, and able-to-pamper this noew area will be.

Minor PKI Workers be relocated from Rides
BoddaH1994 replied to Captain Obvious's topic in Kings Island
Proving the point once again... Nathan should NEVER have been allowed to operate the machinery in my department. -
No, you pushed me and I ended up falling completely into that car. That was funny. That was the same day that Dane kept kicking the back of my seat before we took off on the Zephyr. It somehow screwed up my momentum so that every time the ride dipped, I would turn competely backwards. If you guys are wondering how much fun the PKIC meeting days are, just look how crazy the days are when just the staff meets up. See you this summer!

lol.... these are some of the worst stories ever! A few weeks ago, I was up at the park with Dirty Steve, Dane, Dan, and The Rickster and we were riding Dogems. We were sitting in the cars waiting for the ride to start when the ride ops let a few more people in to occupy some vacant cars. This kid... probably about 6 years old walked right past Dane's bumper car and he yelled "watch out!!" at the top of his lungs. The kid was so startled that he almost fell in Dane's lap... ok, maybe my story isn't that great either.

Enough about the PKIU mods... I don't always agree with what they do myself, but I have talked to several of them and they really are good people.

This is probably the most pointless and outdated post in the history of the world. Seek counciling, Captain.

Minor PKI Workers be relocated from Rides
BoddaH1994 replied to Captain Obvious's topic in Kings Island
What Dirty Steve said is absolutely correct. I'm sure that the new bill (or law.. whatever) that has this in it isn't intended to insult minors or imply that they have the inability to run the rides, but it's in the interest of the park. When you're 18+, an employer can more easily hold you responsible for your own actions. I'm not saying that if there was an accident, you'd get sued, but if something tragic happened at least if the park did get sued the party couldn't claim that there was just some kid driving the ride, which make the park look inept. Look at it this way: you also have to be 18 to drive a fork lift. Does this mean that all people under the age of 18 are incompetant and unable to drive a fork lift? No. It's simply that in our country, when you're 18 you are an adult, and you are given a certain level of responsibility for yourself as well as the enviornment around you. Another thing that you might want to consider is the fact that you're parents have control of you when you're under 18. If an individual were to get hurt on a job site who was under 18, then the parents could elect to sue the company. It's kind of a common conception that a parent always thinks that their kids are "perfect" and that the wrongdoing was the work of the company, so that's why most jobs with any risk at all are left to patrons over the page of 18. Now as far as the drinking thing that FoF1996 mentioned goes, that's kind of a hard social fact to equate to this. It's very true that alcahole is less of a problem in other countries than it is here, but that's not necessarily due to the drinking age itself. It's the fact that you were denied something you're whole life until you reach a certain age and then you have an inherent desire to binge with that particular privledge. It's almost like how every kid that turns 16 and gets his/her license is always more than willing to be the driver when traveling with a groupfor the first year or so. Unfortunately though, when it comes to drinking, problems occure that lead to alcaholism or unforunate accidents before the novelty has worn off. Anyway, like I said, it's not a matter of insult, it's a matter of protecting the park. Regards, Ryan -
Ok, I got to be in the show and this is how you do it: be one of the first people there and look for the guy wearing all black with the clipboard. He's the same guy that, in the show, brings the crowd members up on stage. Tell him that you want to be in the show. If you ask him, he'll generally just let you do it, but he may ask you a few questions to make sure that you're charismatic, outgoing, and not really shy... not exactly a big formal acting audition, but I'm sure they don't want people to bail out right before the show starts. Anyway, they will sit you in the reserved seats and bring you up on stage as necessary. After you preform (assuming you're in the first part), they take you back stage and you get out of the costumes. Then they escort you to the seats on the opposite side of the theatre (if you're standing on the stage, they're on the right). I think for the first segment, they have four people who make sound effects, and for the second section, they use a couple (I know they were actively looking for a man and a women that were there together when I went). Anyway, I hope this helps. Ryan

Can't help but agree with you there. You shouldn't have to sit in a certain seat to have an enjoyable ride experience. If you guys want to debate this more, please start a topic in the Battle Room. Anyway. I went up there for about two or so hours Saturday night with Italian Chef. It was extremely crowded at first, but in the last hour, it died down a lot. Fortunately, we were able to ride a lot of rides in that last hour. I also went Sunday and the lines were definitely better. If you have to choose, I'd choose Sundays until the park is open daily.

I went to one of the first showings... it's pretty nice. The seats are much more comfortable than the "church benches" that they used to have. The stuff that they have on stage is pretty neat too. They also show how a chromakey (green screen effect) works and have a little fun with that. All in all, it's an ok show, it's worth your 20 mins.

I've heard that rumor as well. Apparently they're going to reveal plans at The Beast's birthday party. It had BETTER be for a coaster.... you just don't remove Arrow rides. "Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings, but every time a park removes an Arrow ride, an angel gets set on fire!"
-
Oh, the rules will be bent. You'll see once the sign goes up, but it still takes time. If they didn't intend to bend the rules, they wouldn't project a June or July date... so they basically know that it's going to happen.

I highly doubt the city of Mason is doing this in order to push PKI around. More than likely it is a law that they set up for everybody and PKI has to go through the same procedure that anyone else would have to. Regardless of how big PKI is, it is not above the law.
