  1. We considered finding a cracked tombstone out there and using that name just so we could argue it with Steve, but that's far too much effort. lol It's always a pleasure, Kimberly! Thanks once again for making it such a special and exciting event for all of us! Ryan p.s. Do you think it's odd that I spelled your name wrong, but got Steve's last name right? Well, I got the spelling from his JV soccer picture. Make sure you tell him about that.
  2. Great job on your part of the photos, Dane!
  3. After a long but extreamly fun day at Beastbuzz. Dane and I have come back to share with you their 200 photos of Beastbuzz, as well as hundreds of new photos in our mega update! This brings our total photos to 836 and counting! Photos include The Beast and Son of Beast walkback, and Wild Animal Safari remains, and other Beastbuzz related events, as well as hundreds of other park photos. Click here to check out the photos! Or go Park Info>Photos>Beastbuzz '04! Click here for our latest park photo update. Ryan Dane: It's 5 in the morning and I just completed my photos. Enjoy!
  4. While you're waiting for Dane's photos, click here to check out PKIC's phase I of Beastbuzz photos, which are 109 of my own photos. Have fun! Ryan
  5. Another was covered by the Chippery's booth.
  6. Are you a guy or a girl? I got the answer from a nice lady working at the entrance/exit.
  7. For those of you who have been living in a hole these past 3 months or so, today was the official celebration of The Beast's 25th birthday! This event was made possible by the combined efforts of PKI as well as Coasterbuzz.com. A special thank you goes out to the both of them! The day-long event included everything from guest speakers to a scavenger hunt to ERTs, right down to a good 'ol fashion picnic. The guest speaker turned out to be Thomas Reebie, the president, CEO, and chairman of the board of just a little company if his call Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters! He shared with us his memories of hands-on work in the design of The Beast. I actually had the opportunity to meet him personally, in which he told me some interesting stories about my hero, the great John Allen. The scavenger hunt was unique to say the least. We were, through limericks, instructed to do such things as count the number of Beast footprints, or go up in the tower and get the phone number from the ATP tennis complex across the street by using the telescopes. The scavenger hunt was organized and written by Steve Boehmker, who works closely with Kimberly Tanney. Steve is a newcomer to PKI's marketing department who proves himself as a valuable asset to PKI every time we have the pleasure of crossing paths with him, whether it's at a filming or an event like this. We wish Steve a bright and long career with Paramount Parks. We had the rare privilege of have three different backstage tours during the event as well. These included Tomb Raider: The Ride, The Beast, as well as Son of Beast. The Tomb Raider tour was very interesting. We had the pleasure of going into the three back rooms (facing The Beast) and seeing all of the awesome electronics that make Tomb Raider: The Ride possible. As far as The Beast and Son of Beast go, you'll just have to wait for our awesome photos to come up for that! Unfortunately, we were unallowed to take pics of Tomb Raider's backrooms for legal reasons, so you'll just have to wait until you can see it for yourself! PKICentral.com would like to thank Jeff Putz, Kimberly Tanney, Maureen Boothe, Steve Boehmker, and of course the great Jeff Siebert for making Beastbuzz such an awesome experience! Regards, Ryan
  8. According to the announcements tonight, DJ Scribble was unable to attend due to the weather situation in New York.
  9. Upwards of 45 mins or so.
  10. Lockers are $5 with a $5 returnable deposit (whenever your turn your keys in) for an out the door total of $10. They're different than the lockers in the rest of the park because the rental is for all day as opposed to a one time use. You can leave your stuff on a chair or something so long as there's nothing extremely valuable that you wouldn't feel comfortable leaving out. Ryan
  11. How about Team Dane... oh wait, no... lol.... how about the Arrow Ridaz?
  12. Oh weeee'llll be there... maybe we can teach everyone about the new AAARRROOOWWW!!!! tradition.
  13. 1. Dane 2. Fo-Shame 3. Fusiondude 4. Carpeterson 5. PKIDelirum(probably) 6. Ryan(A) 7. standbyme 8. Skylab 9. ZosoBeast 10. BoddaH1994 We'll be wearing our PKIC shirts, so make sure you say hi if you see us.
  14. Just as an update, I finally got all 167 Boomerang Bay pics up. I was dumb the other day and uploaded about 100 thrumbnails, but that seems to be fixed. Ryan
  15. lol... so it was Mike Bradey sitting next to John Allen in the International Restaraunt that night.. hmmm Actually, the plans were for a new area of the park. Boomerang Bay?
  16. I always thought that it was annoying when I would be walking through the queue station trying to catch up with the line (like right when I walk in) and the lights would go off. Since that's such a maze of queues, it's just confusing. I think it would be more reasonable, to have the lights cut out for about 2 or so seconds, then have a loud 'click' and have what look like emergency lights come on. That way, there is less time in total darkness, and an added effect.
  17. I was wondering when someone was going to correct that misconception. It's a toss up between AE and The Racers (depeding on whether you count The Racers as one or two rides). AE simply has a high capacity, so as soon as you enter the station, you're almost ready to board a train.
  18. They used to broadcast that Micheal Flannery show out of the Paramount Theatre several years ago. Oh, and for your theory, not a bad idea at all... the only problem is, we'd like it because we particularly like parks, non-enthusiasts might think that life in amusement park is uneventful. Maybe a day in the life of Craig Ross or Siebert during opening week... now THAT's interesting.
  19. lol...oh come on, Yogi southern accent/ Do it for Dale! #3! Gone but not forgotten! /southern accent
  20. You hear a lot of tropical music too, just no Buffet anymore. I hope you have a good time! Tell us what you think of it when you get back.
  21. Great pics, Dane! The fortunate side of this whole new photo gallery is that it's much easier for us to update now, so we can have updates more often and in a more timely fassion. Xtended play looks like it was fun! I'm glad to hear that everyone had a good time. I'd go Friday, but Beastbuzz is all day Saturday, so I don't want to be partied out for that, now do I? Hopefully PKI will bring more events like this in the future. Ryan
  22. Wow, good question, Eric. I'd say that it's a toss up between the Coolangatta Racers and Taz, both of which have really resparked my interest in water rides in general. I guess if I had to choose one, I'd go with Coolangatta Racers, they may not be as elaborate of a ride as Taz, but I've had some good times already this season on them. Down Under Thunder 1 Coolangatta 1
  23. Just remember Dian, Zurich, Switzerland.. Zurich. LOL, yea. Although I spent little time in the elevator yesterday, cause I was soooo tired from that long shift. Ah, don't worry... you knew the manufactuter. That's more than most people working the tower know. Whenever they make the mistake of asking if we have any questions about PKI, I always ask a techincal question that they probably wouldn't know the answer to. You knew Intamin... good enough for me.
  24. Just remember Dian, Zurich, Switzerland.. Zurich.
  25. Although the Royal Fountain is excellent looking, I still think the best part is on a hot day and the wind blows... you get a cool mist on you. Probably the 2nd best feeling you'll ever have in your life.
