We are currently working on the accuracy of that part of the web page. I'm not sure how accurate the $15 million is, I've heard $25 myself.
-
The ice show was moved from the Festhaus to the Paramount Theatre after the Paramount takeover.
-
PKI invested $25 million on SoB, and it still has major problems. Can't help but agree with you there. I'm not the biggest SOB fan, but I wouldn't go as far as saying that it was a waste of money.

I agree -- I love Face/Off, but am still unwilling to wait for an hour for it even on days that the park is dead. If they added a 2nd train, it would more than double the capacity. The only problem is that a device like that would include a lot of moving parts, which could break down, and adding something like that would be unbelieveably expensive. They'd have to build both the switch track, and probably reconstruct the station.

True, in fact, there's a LIM that uses the same idea. I don't think Face/Off has a transfer track, though.

Charles, we SO have to hit the bottle at the Aussie Bar and then ride the Tazmania Typhoon. Imagine that while you're drunk! Are you in?

Congrats Rickster! Where's the gift certificate to? Paramount Parks?

I agree, The Beast really has been the cornerstone of the park for the past 24 years. Well, here is my short list of the best moves: 1. Moving from the riverfront to Mason to become Kings Island. Smart decision -- more land, no more floods! 2. Waterworks. This put the park in direct competition with the Beach. 3. Adding new attractions every year. According to Jeff Seibert, PKI is one of a small handful of parks that can say that they've added attractions every year that they've been in existance. 4. Debuting the park with a wooden by John Allen. 5. NOT investing $25 million in a ride like TTD.

Testify!! If they removed The Vortex, it would be a terrable blow to the park in my opinion. I mean, they could add a B&M or an Intamin or whatever, but that just wouldn't be the same as an Arrow looper!!
-
Holy geeze, why don't you have him equate it to the position of the planets while he's at it.
-
Good idea! Usually PKI.com has that, but I guess they start it in like Feb or so.

You get KILLER air time anywhere you sit in the front, so I chose the frontwards Racer. Although one of my favorite seats in the whole park is the back seat of the backwards racer (where you are the end of the train--you aren't facing anyone.) The air time is flawless on that one.

You guys are talking about the ventors like they're not employees. Are they some kind of 3rd party company, or is there just a beef between them and the rest of the associates?
-
If anyone lives in the area and has a digital camera, the pics would be great.

Does having four accross affect your ride experience a lot?
-
No, what he is doing is very legal and a good idea. Keep up the good work, Aaron.

That's not selfish. We wish you the best! If you do decide to make Gudebook v. 2, I'd recommend asking people on here what they want to see in it because, hey... we're your best audience.

They are retro and nostalgic. If you know anything about history, you would know that gaslights were used for everything from 1865 to 1875 during the gaslight era, where lamplighters walked the town streets at night, making sure all gaslights were lit and functional. Gaslights for a period were all the rage, and a period of unhurried gracious living. Want to know more about this era, visit http://www.gaslite.com/history.html lol.. you have WAY too much time on your hands

Sorry, but I can't help but agree with him. From a regular park-goers point of view, the helicopter was really cool at first, but having it fly overhead and make all that noise just got really old as soon as the novelty wore off.

I don't know, Chef. Delirium is an excellent ride, but who knows that they could do with TR: TR... I mean, it could have an AWSOME program with all new themeing for all we know. I think most people just have a bias against it because it's so short. I think we can all agree that the few minutes we have on it really is a lot of fun.

^ I can't swear that the lake was there. I had always thought that the lake was the same one that was where The Beast stands now where they had the canoe ride. There are ups and downs to the Paramount takeover. Although a lot of the "warm" feelings of the park are now gone, the park is now under the Viacom unbrella, which does mean a lot deeper pockets. You also have to keep in mind that before the Paramount takeover, you were a lot younger. (I noticed from a different thread that we are roughly the same age). Back then, Kings Island was a much more 'magical' place simply because you were younger. The nostalgic mood is both justified and reasonable in that sence, but it is also illogical to assume that the good times are all behind us.

I think changing the Adventure Village to the Action Zone was a mistake. I really like the Action Zone rides, but I just wish they had made a whole other part of the park for that. They could have beautifully themed Adventure Village if they wanted to. I think AZ is well-themed with the Stunt Crew Grill and things like that, but I think we sacraficed a lot of "woodland" potential with that. It could have been like another Rivertown. p.s. What ever happened to the daily AZ stunt show??

Nah, if PKI announced Winterfest, people would forget what the heck the Beach is in a matter of minutes. I think the costs would be low. I mean, setting things up would be expensive, but only a handful of employees would have to work, and I truely believe that they would be able to attract large enough crowds to make it worth while. So long as they make sure to advertise it as a Christmas thing, and not as that the park would be entirely opening. A lot of people would be disappointed with a misconception about that. PKI also has a LOT more money to play with, so anything that the Beach could offer, PKI would match or even top. Keep the faith my friend, if you keep asking about it, it will come.

What do you guys think is the biggest mistake that the park ever made? This is just a curiosity thing. If you could go back in time and tell the park not to do something, what would it be? Just to keep it fun, let's omit the King Cobra. I know a vast majority of us miss it, and we've state it a thousand times, so let's try to be creative. Keep in mind: You don't necessarily have to limit yourself to rides being removed. Any aspect of business is viable (they shouldn't have gotten Subway, or whatever) "Should have added a flying coaster in 94" will work, but let's limit the "should of's" when it comes to adding attractions ****Also, if someone says, for example "Shouldn't have gotten rid of The Bat" don't post with a lecture as to why they got rid of it. We're here to have fun, not for a physics lesson! I mean, come on people! I'm doing these posts to help ease the off season blues, so let's have some fun with this! Be creative! -Ryan

I agree, Moster would be a b*tch. I'd say any ride that does have the seat belt (once again, too lofty of a concept for most people) like FoF would be frusterating to work. They probably design the controls so pretty much anyone can do it, though.
