Believe it or not, I have never been to a fearfest. Well, I mean I have been AT the park while it was going on, but never went to any of the attractions. This year will be my first actual Fearfest visit as I will be at the park both the 2nd and the 3rd of october. I am kinda looking forward to the "Friday The 13th" project in the theater.

PKI Pays Tribute to the Heros of 9-11
ZosoBeast replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Madame Tussauds 9/11 Tribute will be playing at the Paramount Theater until October 31st. -
MTV Soundwave, FOF and R&RC are all pretty much the same thing with different themes! Personally, I thought all of the ideas stunk!

And the bows on there head! Were the bows BIG enough or what???????

Hey there Chef, I finally got around to buying your book at Kings Island over the weekend. It made for a nice read and it gave me something to do while I was camping alone this weekend after park hours. So when is the 2nd ed coming out? Bill
-
PKI_Diana, did you at least make it to the Fireworks on Sunday?
-
I was there Friday, Saturday and a very small part of Sunday! Friday, the park was DEAD!! No waits for anything! Saturday the park was packed as you said. Cheerleaders everywhere! I wasnt there long enough to see the final crowd for Sunday. I was looking for ya, but as big as that place is, I knew it was a worthless effort! I was going to go up the tower to say hello to PKID, but I dont want her to be thinking I am some crazy **jjmisskick** wannabe! lol Glad you had fun! Bill

Madame Tussauds New York: Tribute to 9/11
ZosoBeast replied to KIemployeeforlife's topic in Coming Attractions
I seen the 8:00 showing this past Friday night. The dude at the controls had some trouble getting it started! Computer kept crashing and we would see the windows desktop up there on the slideshow screens. You could hear him back there franticly pushing keyboard buttons in order to get it started. There were only like 15 at the MOST in the theater to see the show. As for the show itself, I guess I expected so much more out of it. The show just comes off as really bland to me. I am trying to stay sensitive to the subject matter, but I feel the show could have been so much better. Just random pictures put into a slide show with the wax figures in the middle and "God Bless The USA" playing on top of the show. And with the brochures in the hallway, it just seems like a stale advertisement for "Madame Tussauds: New York" in my eyes. Hey, thats just my opinion. Interested in hearing others.... Bill -
From the PKI email newsletter: For more haunting FearFest details, attractions and more information on the newest addition to our frightful lineup for 2004 (a horrific walk-through nightmare called Spooky Hallow), don't be scared…click here. Even though when you click there it just talks about a new attraction, not giving anymore specs. Also, PKI has added a weekend: Paramount's Kings Island will be closed to the general public and all season passholders from September 7-30th. However, we are extending our season and adding one more weekend of fall fun! PKI will now be open the weekend of November 6th and 7th so you can get your last fix of thrills for 2004! SWEET!!!!!!

I am going to stay at the PKI campground over labor day weekend. Does anyone know if pets are allowed there? I know there is a place for him at the park when I go, so thats not an issue. Any ideas? The PKI Campground web site is very unhelpful! Not much info at all! Bill

I knew I could count on you!

Got to the park around 5:30 to a pretty empty parking lot. I had gone to park last night with my 7 year old. The park was empty last night as well. I pretty much let her make the call as to what she wanted to ride, no lines for ANYTHING! Well, tonight was MY night! The whole park to myself and I could do what I want when I wanted. I had 2 hours. Time to make the most of it.... First of all, all the tiques are gone! All the cars have been moved. I seen them there last night, but tonight there were gone! On to the rides.... With Frisbee, SOB, and Vortex out of the way, it was time for me to do what I had been planning all day to do. Ride The Beast until closing! I got 13 rides in on that monster. I never had to get off of the train. A new record for me! It is UNREAL how SLOW the train moves when there are no people on it! One train I was on only had 3 people total on it! THREE!! The Beast crew tonight was great! Oh well, just had to share that little story! I am all PKI'd out! I am taking a break until next Thursday when I will be spending the day at Cedar Point and then staying at the PKI campground Friday and Saturday! Ever onward, Bill

Were you there when that lady was crying her eyes out after the frisbee ride came to an end and they had to call the medics? I seen that it had a bigger crowd gathered around it than normal so I knew something was up. I was walking towards the show when all of that was going on.

I want to say darn close to 2 hours. Lots of costume changes. Alot of times he would play a song then he would show a video while he changed costumes. Really funny show, even if it was the second time I seen it!

Short but sweet day at the park. My 20th visit to the park this season which makes this my personal record for most visits in one season. Got there about 3:30ish. Not sure why, but SOB was calling my name! I hop on Top Gun first to check out the line for SOB. I waited about 15mins for TG and about 25mins for SOB. Not counting media day, thats the first time I EVER remember standing in a line for TG! SOB has been pretty nice to me of late! Slowly becoming a must ride for me when I hit the park. After that, I head up the tower and visit with PKIDiana a bit. She spent some time giving me some more of her park insight! Very cool! Be sure to look for "pkidianacentral.com" very soon! JUST KIDDING (wink wink) I spent some time video taping up there and decided to head on over to grab my 30th ride of the season on The Beast. I grabbed a bag of chippery chips for me to eat in line (white cheddar) and headed on over. You can pretty much tell how busy the whole park is by how many que sections of The Beast they have open. Today they only had 1 que section open. About a half hour wait. Decided to go all out and did my 30th ride in the very back seat. Great ride, as always! I did Vortex after that and then it was time for Weird Al. Grabbing a blue ice cream cone on the way, I took my seat and a very LAME stand up comic took the stage to open the show for Al. This guy didn't get much of a reaction from the crowd at all! Very sad. Al's show was pretty much the same one as last year. He did cover (not parody) an Alice Cooper song which pretty much shocked me. The crowd was into it ALOT, but he stopped singing it half way thru it. I must say, I have been to a ton of concerts in my lifetime, and Timberwolf's is some of the best sound I ever heard at a show! Tired and going to bed. Thanks for reading! Bill

Thats another idea! We could all bring video that we took from the park during the season. Or some pics or something to share. Just something for us to drool over until the park opens back up...with the minis!!! On my way to the park right now! See ya all on the other side! Bill
-
Well if ANYBODY knew that song, it would be you! I am sure it is a permanent part of your brain by now!! Well at least I was close?! hehe Bill
-
Oh no! I can see it now... Dane gets up on stage: "Everyones all over town, this parts getting out of bounds...." (or something like that) Run away!! Run fast!! By the way, I vote for the Cincinnati Mills thingy. I went there yesterday and I am just shocked at how different things look! There new Putt-Putt golf course (Lunar Golf) will be opening "Holidays 2004" or so the sign says. Myself, I wanna ride the Centipede Train!! Bill

Most of the time you cant even hear what they are saying on QTV. Many a times did I want to watch the "Making of The Beast" and give up because I just couldnt hear it! Lucky for me, they played the extended version during Beastbuzz. My choice would be if they just played music. I remember while being in line for MF at Cedar Point and the tunes were blasting away, everyone was pumped. Kinda made you forget you were waiting in line! The DJ even took requests, but he had no Led Zeppelin! DArn you Cedar Point DJ....Darn you!!!! Bill...who is heading to the park in a few hours, for his 20th time this season, to see Weird Al....alone. Sad isnt it?
-
Ok dude, what is your obsession with tuned in? I mean REALLY! I seen it for the first time this past Saturday. It was a fun show, sure, but it wasn't ALL that! Bill
-
Blueprints you say? hmmmmm, I wonder what there building there?! Sorry, had to do it! Bill, who is bummed that his company wasnt picked to run the blueprints for IJ! We did however run the prints for SDATHC and Delirum! Later all.....

DUDE! I got there the very same time you did! You didn't happen to talk to someone out in the parking lot about making sure to check what spot you were parked in did you? If so, I believe you were parked in the drop zone section where as I was in the Face/Off section. Anyway, I wish I knew the FoF line was so short, I would have taken that for a spin! I did manage to get my 7 year old on Top Gun AND SOB for the first time today. Unlike you, my ride on SOB today was the smoothest ride all year! 1st car, second row! My daughter didn't know it had a loop. I had to hide that fact from her in order to ride it! She does not do loops, until today! She loved it! But she did come off of it with the classic SOB line "I now have a very small headache!" LOL! The dude running the drivers box on The Beast (not naming names) was just ANNOYING beyond belief on the mic! Yelling out stats to the crew. Trying WAAAY to hard to be funny! Just speaking like he OWNED the ride! Everyone in line covering there ears as he spoke! Dude, turn down the volume next time! Bill

I went to the park yesterday to get that last ride in. Waited about 30 mins. The park was TOTALLY packed! The first time EVER I had to park on the grass! But I had a mission! My mission was to video tape my girls (3 and 7) on those cars before they took them away. Did a pretty good job at it! At least now I have that to show them when they get older. Also got my 7 year old on The Beast for the very first time! "WOW" tickets come in very handy on a day like that! I also took there picture in front of the floral clock because you just never know! On topic, I think one of the coolest things about IJ location is the fact that we will be able to look STRAIGHT down on it from the tower! See all the "stunts" in action! Ever Onward, Bill
