  1. How old do you think kids should be allowed into the park without an adult? Personally, my parents would let me and a friend go off by ourselves and then check-in every so often. But they would stay at the park themselves. I'm talking about parents that drop their kids off at the park and then pick them up later.
  2. That brings up an intresting question. How old is "old enough" to be at the park by yourself? Perhaps I'll make this a poll....
  3. If the kid was not wearing a $hitsburgh Cheaters shirt, the accident probably would not have happened. Joking aside, that picture of the car looked pretty bad. He is lucky that it was only a minor injury.

  5. ^ Alaska huh? That could not have been cheap. Are you leaving from Cincy?

  7. Is it just me, or is the section with "Today's Birthdays" missing?
  8. I feel the same way. The first time I went to PKD they had metal detectors. After going to PKI so many times, I was rather shocked to see them at another Paramount Park. The first thing that came to my mind was: "What happened here that they need metal detectors?" It was shortly after that PKI had them as well. I believe they started to use the wands when racial tensions were high in the Cincy area (2000-2001?), and then the walk-through style came prior to the 2003 season. And in all reality, if someone really wants to get something in that is prohibited by the park (gun, knife, drug paraphanalia etc.), it would not be that hard. I am still surprised that all NFL stadiums do not have metal detectors. Currently, I get patted down to my waist before entering Cleveland Browns Stadium.

  11. ... and I would have thought it was because she was a model who appeared in Playboy is why you didn't know her.

  13. Kim is a model (IMO pretty hot!) She is also the daughter of Robert Kardashian, defense attorney (and close friend) for OJ Simpson, who has since passed on. Nicole Brown Simpson was very good friends with Kris Jenner (ex-wife of Robert Kardashian) and Bruce Jenner (yes that Bruce Jenner). The TV show is your basic family squabble stuff made up of spoiled kids. Some of it is pretty funny, but Bruce Jenner makes the whole show really good. I never knew what kind of stand-up guy Bruce is. Small story: Kris and Robert were divorcing, and the arguement of the money split was tearing the family apart. Bruce took Robert out to dinner and told him to sign the divorce papers, and Kris gets no money at all, and Bruce would take care of the entire (4 kids) family.

  15. When I owned my bar, some of former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge (shameless plug -native to Erie, PA and graduate of Cathedral Prep!) secret service agents came in to enjoy the music, dancing and adult beverages after their shift. When I found out that they were armed, I politely asked that they put the guns in their cars since the bar was packed (300+) and they were drinking alcohol. They did tell me they were allowed to have the guns on them considering what they did. I then told them that I respect their position, but Mr. Ridge was not present AND they were consuming alcohol in my establishment. They did put the guns in the car.
  16. An abrasion on the foot is major? I was expecting to see that the ride fell apart; i.e. another Chaos MA incident. The kids was probably wearing flip-flops, ran to get on the ride, and fell down either running or climbing to get into the car.

  18. ^ I do agree that disgruntled employees can cause headaches for businesses, but that is not even the case for most of these violations. I also agree that Carrie Leum needs to have her head examined. Disgruntled employees aside, it was the state that found the violations for: not enough staffing, excessive riders, finding a cashier posing as a lifeguard, and 2 life guards with invalid certifications. Those violations are not caused from "disgruntled employees" but from lack of management planning. Sure, perhaps the "disgruntled employee" could have contacted the state, but even so, the waterpark still was in violation. Instead of giving the business numerous fines, they should close it down for repeated violations.
  19. Those are some really disturbing violations. Especially considering the accidents that have happened at other waterparks due to too many people on slides.
