  1. ^It is hard to digest this topic any further.
  2. If you are referring to a ride, no. It is been mentioned a few times on KI's FB page from KI themselves that there will be no new rides for 2013.
  3. A little oil here & there will preserve the track look. Even motor oil.
  4. added for emphasisIs that anything like the majority knowing a 25-year old ride is not sinking? Enthusiasts, like us, know these rumors to be humorous. We make up the minority. The majority do not know these things. Breeze through KI's FB page for more examples of what humorous rumors are constantly being discussed by the majority- more than enough to fill a hot air ballon.
  5. Take off the enthusiast eyeglasses and treat the park for what it is- a business. The last thing any park needs is to spend millions on a ride that will have untrue rumors being told about it on day # 1. Perhaps in 10 years, but I don't see the park waiting that long to use an area that is prime for future development. Could KI make an investment like this? Sure. If KK ever re-opened, they could install a drop ride too. Would either happen? Don't hold your breath.
  6. I 100% agree, but I also look at the business side when it comes to these decisions. For instance: We all know that Vortex is not sinking, nor has it ever been sinking. This is just one rumor (and joke)- and look how it is taken & has been taken for many years. Now, if KI would erect a new wood coaster that has inversions, would the everyday guest be able to distinguish between the new ride and the former SoB?
  7. I sincerely hope you are not implying that a fatality has to take place for something to be considered a safety issue.
  8. I wouldn't hold your breath. While everything you mentioned is accurate, the glaring difference in the two scenarios are the safety issues SoB had.
  9. ^ That is generally true, but in my comment was dealing with season pass sales and how they should be discounted. Per caps is another can of worms.
  10. JCPenny relies on customers coming multiple times per year, not one purchase/ year as in the case of any park's season pass.
  11. If I am not mistaken, it was just painted within the last handful of years.
  12. ^ The "awe" factor is two things: seeing the ride & being intimidated by it. The second: you have experienced the ride with a smile. SoB certainly had that "awe" factor to look at and an "ouch" factor to experience. To clarify: the riding "awe" should exceed the visual "awe".
  13. That brings up an interesting question, was SoB ever operating enough (or reliable enough) to be considered a "flagship" ride?
  14. On a per year basis, wood coasters cost more to maintain. If/ when steel coaster track needs to be replaced, the cost is enormous. Rust is the worst "disease" a steel coaster can encounter & does not just stay in one area, but spreads like wildfire & cannot be easily replaced as in the case of a wood coaster rotting board. KC was removed for a handful of reasons, the poor steel used being one of them.
  15. There is a good chance they don't even use chlorine, but the less abrasive bromine.Either way, the chemical(s) used in pools/ spas is strictly overseen by the Warren Co. Health Dept. That includes overusing the chemical as well which can be more harmful than inadequate amounts. http://www.wcchd.com/environmental-public-swimming-pools.aspx
  16. ^ If Vortex commented, he would have sunk to a new low.
  17. See, you learn something new everyday at KIC!I always thought his name was AZ Kinda Guy. I did not know it was Richard! (btw, you forgot a comma! just sayin')
  18. Who could have imagined a watered-down party could be old & crusty? It is refreshing to know that the political race is now over, the old has been removed, and we don't have to listen to them anymore!
  19. Ask AZ Kinda Guy Brian-If anyone started a "flame war" it was you. He said you were wrong, and look at your reaction.
  20. Political spins make me sick..... Thus- I will not vote for the Teacup party.
  21. ^ What influenced your conclusion more? The line or the cheeseburger?
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8w9xk4hUKoQ
  23. Yes, it will be retired soon. Vortex is still sinking......
  24. All husbands & wives love each other?
