  1. I had heard so many huge things about this ride, that I had set my expectations to high walking in there, so I was at first a bit dissapointed. But that's not to say the ride is bad in any way, shape, or form, it looks like an incredible ride. Lately PKI has been doing an amazing job with theming, just look at Tomb Raider, Nick Central, or Boomerang Bay, so I'm sure Italian Job will follow suit. Once again PKI uses innovativeness to take a standard launch coaster to the next level by adding bumps, a sound system, headlights, tail lights, and an amazing special effects show right in the middle of the coaster! I'm still standing by my only problem with the ride, that Parking Garage only having 2 walls, lol, but maybe that's supposed to represent the "hollywood set" aspect of it? Anyways, with 2 launches, awesome "tricked out", and licensed, cars(is that a first for a ride, having fully licensed cars?), cool theming, a really cool plaza, and a special effects show that could probably stand on its own as a mini attraction, it looks like it'll be winner for PKI, and hopefully sell a crapload of 2005 passes for them as well.
  2. The park will eventually reinstate the Antique Cars in one way or another, more than likely in 2006 as part of Nick Central. A couple things I learned after a brief Q&A with Jeff Siebert: 1. Premier is manufacturing, similar to The Mummy rides 2. The cars will have real doors, and working tail lights and headlights 3. The cars will have sound systems, and you'll hear the engine and tires peeling out. 4. You will actually feel the bumps going down the staircase. 5. Everything in the preview will be included in the ride. 6. They are supposedly working on getting the cars to fishtail. 7. An indentical ride is being built at PCW. Sounds really fun, I just hope the parking garage looks a little better, like having 4 walls. It was a cool press conference, PKI did a great job. Thanks for answering a few of my questions Jeff!
  3. Paramount did let the park go somewhat, but it's getting better, and they've added some of the best rides around, and some awesome theming. If you want a classic park experience based off of pure fun, go to any park in the US besides Disney, Universal, or Paramount, even though PKI is really a hybrid of every type of park except animal. Tomb Raider was an excellent investment, and has proven that seasonal parks can create excellent highly themed attractions. Son of Beast, in my opinion, is one of the best rides around. It's rough, but its had its fair share of success, and I think just due to its size and scale it will be a landmark attraction for the park for years to come. I really can't say that PKI has made a really poor investment, since all of their investments have done what they were meant to do, generate more money for the park, and in general improve the guest experience in one way or another.
  4. I think the seats for ROTM looked pretty comfortable, and more spacious than SOB's.
  5. They're both excellent rides, but I think they're very different styles, so I think it's odd to pit them against each other. I'm gonna go with The Beast though, since it's a true classic and the best terrain coaster out there.
  6. I really liked the Addams Family concept, but I went with the Italian Job. It just sounds more fun to drive a car down staircases and around sharp turns and stuff.
  7. In case you haven't noticed, this is PKICentral, not PKDCentral. We understand you love PKD. Why not express it on a PKD site?
  8. Yep, I remember it. It was pretty neat. I especially liked seeing the miniature ship they used, even though it was a very small ratio, the ship was still huge.
  9. Yeah, that reminds me of Tower of Terror(Disneyworld)having 2 seperate preshows and stations, and even though each station has 2 elevators, since one station gets used exclusively for fastpass, it kills capacity. I really don't know if DCA's version uses one side exclusively for Fastpass, since I rode it pretty early in the day.
  10. That is a really cool concept, but I don't think we'll see it used for PKI's 2005 attraction. I'd really love to see them use it for something else though, that's a really cool design. Has anyone seen the pics of the Robocoaster that's actually mounted onto a track? That'd make for a killer dark ride.
  11. Also, there are more rides in PKI then there are at Universal, and probably less people inside the park on any given day, so I doubt that the ride would have insane lines just due to the fact that there are so many rides and areas to cycle people through. And even though the ride only seats 16 per train, that doesn't mean capacity will be bad, look at the Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland, it seats 12 per car, but still keeps the lines constantly moving because of smart queue design, dual stations, and Disney's seatbelt check stations(right before the ride actually begins the car pulls forward through the station to a seatbelt check area, similarly, PKI could have dual stations, and also have a sort of waiting area just outside the load station, or they could just have one station, and load 2 cars simultaneously, and send them both out of the station, the first one goes into the ride, the second stops in a waiting area, while 2 cars pull up into the load station).
  12. Hmm, Italian Job, subways, staircases, some road signs, not too costly theming and special effects wise, compare that to The Mummy's groundbreaking effects and Tomb Raider esque detailed theming, which costs quite alot. Just due to the themes the rides would have totally different costs. I believe 2005 will be a costly year for the park, but this attraction will probably be one of the best in a long while, and I'm all for the park building more Universal and Disney esque rides. Could someone elaborate on the dual loading station on Florida's Mummy?
  13. Oh, and by the way, the name of the manufacturer is in the 2005 Teaser.
  14. Well, the secret's out, we're getting a Spongebob themed giant ferris wheel. I'm glad we know what it is now. I guess I'll go eat dinner, I think I'm in the mood for some Italian. Maybe I'll go out in my mini-cooper.
  15. Someone's brought this up before, but really, it doesn't mean much. Similarly to how Paramount Parks used Nickelodeon licenses, the new Nick management will be allowed to use the Paramount licenses, and they will continue to be Paramount Parks. And with all the movie themed attractions, it would make no sense to become NKI. I believe this is basically just a move by Viacom to switch management, so Paramount can focus fully on movie making. I could be wrong though, they may infact become a Nick park, but I really doubt it. Think of it this way, Paramount Parks is now operated by Nickelodeon, as opposed to Paramount Pictures.
  16. PKI is the Paramount flagship park, as well as the largest, and seems to have the most high quality rides of any of the Paramount Parks, though if you're looking for coasters, in my personal opinion, I believe PKD has probably the best selection from what I've seen, but nothing to rival The Beast . And yes PKI Punk, I believe next year's new attraction will definetly put PKI further ahead of the other Paramount Parks. I will say though that PKD looks like an incredible park, I'm definetly looking forward to visiting and getting a ride on Volcano.
  17. I agree Bodda, the kids do need a show. I think it's a good idea to probably use that space for a future Nick Central expansion, as if they take it out, they could just keep going right into some of the Picnic Grove area if they needed, but I think they should atleast have 1 show for the kids, especially since they took out the Enchanted Theatre. I thought it was great when PKI had a show for really little kids and one for the older kids.
  18. That's a cool entrance, we need one like that!
  19. Too true Chef. Hopefully that won't happen.
  20. I'm hearing this is a pretty big ride for the park, and that alot of marketing hype will be involved with it, so my guess is that it'll be similar to TR:TR's unveling, at the front of the park.
  21. TR went down? Well, I'm sure it'll be up soon, it's been running pretty well this year. How did Baby Chef like the parade?
  22. 2005 has really turned out alot of rumors. I've heard so much crap, AZ getting yet another ride,Tiques being replaced with a steel, Flying Eagles going to Eurobungees spot, the rivertown pond being filled in, and very recently, an Italian Job ride featuring The Mummy's Revenge ride system, and something about mini coopers. It's crazy! C'mon PKI, anounce it!!!!!
  23. The Italian Job was described as a car ride down staircases and around sharp curves at high speeds, things like that, like a high speed chase. I also think that we are getting the Italian Job next year, but it won't be a wild mouse. It'll be something much, much better.
  24. Yeah, that'd be cool to see them go through the woods, or around that pond across from the closed Tiques station. From what I've heard, the park was going to remove them, or relocate them, but changed the 2005 attraction(for like the 4th time)and also its location. Also, supposedly there's some new clearing in Action Zone, but I haven't had the time to check it out. Anyone seen anything?
  25. Yeah, BAFFD can be pretty scary. The last BAFFD we just went to BB, and it wasn't that bad at all.
