Me and so many others want King Cobra back!
SOB_TOM replied to beastrider5334's topic in Kings Island
That goes back to the whole TOGO Vs. B&M dispute. Hate to break it to you but the Eagles have a better chance of coming back than KC. I liked KC, but its gone. Goodbye, have a nice afterlife. RIP. -
I have always been big, but not fat. I carry all my weight in my height. However, the Air Force wants me at 225, which is nearly impossible, because I think my bone structure weights 210. After leaving basic training, I actually went down to 235, but the way my metabolism is, I stay between 240 and 250 religously, but my doc told me that 250 was not overweight for someone of my height. Unless you are a doctor in the Air Force. Then they are not happy unless you are a twig able to lift 400 lbs.

Better than Dracula.

That is considered a Carousel Turn, when the track enters a turn, and exits either slightly higher or lower and goes back the direction it came. Therfor, no, TG does NOT have a helix.

How bout something that is new, and decent to watch at least once a day? Coming from a maintenance background there, having to start up Spongebob every day, I have a vendetta against that sponge.

No, I want the current avi that you can see now..... Whats cooler than having an avi thats nothing but an X in a box? BTW, Im a XXL. Im working out of the century mark into "harder" workings.
-
I feel so discarded..... Actually there not bad changes. But like any change, it will take awhile to adjust.
-
Thats why some of the CP wooden coaster dept have been recieving tips from our guys.....
-
However, the fact that it takes air to lower the fins is a safety measure. If the coaster loses power or pressure, the fins will raise. Thus stopping the train.

Thats not a brake issue. Thats a BLOCK issue. The Beast was origonally set up for 8 blocks. This could technically run up to 6 trains, however due to loading procedures, they could only run 3 trains. Therefor, when the new brakes were put in, the blocks were restructured to run 4 blocks, allowing for a "buffer block" in between trains.

You mean the grumpyness of the old folks.
-
You said that our shirts were going to have our SN and our avatar. Can I keep my current Avatar?
-
Its just a more sudden stoppage. There is no decrease in speed versus the old brakes and the new brakes. Just quicker.
-
I can tell you just by looking at it that someone was stoned when they made the origonal design. Lets put all of the weight of a gondola (probabily 5-7 tons) on the end of a giant vertical pole, let the pole drop, PRAY that a braking system that we design can stop it, AND THEN lift the pole back up to a vertical posistion without it cracking in half. What a great idea...

Field Reversals can be done, but not with earth magnets.
-
Well if i were to tell you what we are going to do to him ,then he wont be as ****ed when it happens.
-
Probabily a little of both really.

Ryan, Bill and I will share a room. Just ignore Bill's screaming....

6'4" 250LBS. and just need taller restraints on most rides.

BTW, electromagnets make NO physical connections.

I know this one: An earth magnet, like what you see on Drop Zone, will NOT fail. It is designed so that there is always a magnetic charge. This is done by using earthen metals that naturally have a magnetic field, which makes it 100% reliable. On Drop Zone, thats your entire system. There is no electricity or anything else running to the brakes, just two types of earth magnets. A metal that has been charged by an earth magnet will fail once it loses the charge. Electromagnets, or the majority of braking systems on coasters, WILL fail when power is removed. Even though electromagnets are made out of the same earth materials that have a charge (AKA an earth magnet,) it still needs more pull to do the job. So, electricity is put through the magnet to create a larger magnetic field. But, as GE has proved this year at PKI, power is not always reliable. So how does a manufacture fix this design flaw? (Again majority) There is a separate braking system. Lets take The Beast for example. The Electromagnets on The Beast are not there to actually stop the coaster. They are used as trim only. Therefor, no secondary braking system is needed in those areas. IF power was lost from The Beast while you were going in the brake shed, the magnet would have little, if no, effect on the car. It simply does not have the magnetic pull to slow the car down. Now lets take the incident on Superman: That incident started with bad maintenance practices. Where am I getting my facts? I work maintenance, talk to the maintenance guys. The hose was faulty, should have been replaced. Now what did this hose do? It MOVED the electromagnet in order to stop or propel the car forward. By switching which side of the magnet has more electric running to it, you can either propel a coaster, or stop it. Think FoF. Anyway, due to the mechanism that MOVED the electromagnet failing, the magnet was not in a proper alignment to stop the car. Instead, it was out of alignment, thus causing the accident. Am I saying electromagnets are completely safe and should not have redundent braking systems added? No. They should ABSOLUTELY have a friction braking system set up in case of power loss.

It will be a good thing to play the Banner in the morning. Thats how I woke up every morning for 8 months. Seriously it would be a good thing because it really helps when people show support for troops. Its hard to explain to those who arent in the military (nothing against that) but it really makes it worth what you go through to have someone walk up and say thank you, or by businesses supporting troops overseas. Props to them.

He could also be mad about: "I like The Beast." "Tom Cruise." "The Train tour." Oh yeah, and taking a nap at Holiday World and missing an entire day!!! Of course Ryan and I cant say anything. That day was devoted to looking for a Wal-Mart.

Not necessairly empty but short...

I think the best time to do this would be early next year. That way, those of us in college have some time to save up money, and also you can coordinate with the reps at the parks. Just my 2 cents.
