Well anyone can sell out the park, PKI doesn't discriminate against anyone. This event is just like if a couple of Christian groups got together and bought out the park for Christian people to attend on that day. Now I'm sure you wouldn't mind having that day. So next time, think about other people first and not only yourself. We are all the same people so we don't need to talk about anyone's sexual preferences. Let's get back on topic and talk about the actual event. This isn't a poll that asks if PKI should have Gay Day. So if we can't stay on topic and we get out of control we'll have to close this topic.

Nope, I was wearing my work hat.

I might be there, I might not, but if my plans open up to go to the park, it would be pretty cool to meet you up there again.

Wilderness Resort Seeks Kings Island As Partner
Dan replied to Dan's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
This is a great move on PKI's part. Why? Indoor waterparks are the newest fad and they're bringing in cash off the hook. Like Browntggr said, these kinds of hotels are doing great business and already some hotels are putting in upgrades. So isn't it smart to build a bigger hotel at PKI? Plus, this will finally bring "out-of-towners" to PKI which would work with their hollywood theme and would enable them to build much bigger and better rides. So even if this hotel isn't owned by PKI, it will still bring a lot of success to the park. -
The Great Lakes Companies Inc., a nationwide resort company, is looking to partner with Paramount's Kings Island by bringing a rustic, wilderness-theme log resort hotel to the amusement park in Mason in Warren County. The company wants to build the hotel on the site of an existing campground along Ohio 741 and relocate the campground nearby. The resort would include a large stone fireplace, vaulted ceiling, wilderness artifacts, indoor waterpark and an arcade, as well as an outdoor pool. Planning for the resort is in the preliminary stages, but company representatives talked Tuesday with Warren County about a deal to supply water for the new resort. Source: Dayton Daily News

On PKI's new survey, they added a new question to the mix. It seems that PKI wants to hear from more coaster enthusiasts and they want to know who they are. Here is what they said in the survey: This is just a reminder to head on over to Thrillresearch.com and sign up as a panel member if you haven't already done so. This is your best chance for your voice to be heard!

Before you go accusing PKI of screwing themselves, you have to look at the facts first. PKI is a "local" park, which means they attract local guests. Since almost all of the guests who go to PKI are from around here, it doesn't matter if they have a same ride that's in California. It's most likely that the people from here won't go to that park in California which has the same ride that PKI does. Anyway, the average guest doesn't care if a ride is cloned because it does not affect them. PKI looks at the majority and not just one whiny person who wants everything unique just for himself.

We love free speech here on PKIC! I'd also like to congratulate everyone behind PKIU for lasting two years on the net! P.S. On behalf of the staff of PKIC, I am terribly sorry that we were not able to get construction pictures up in the last few days. After the techinical problems are solved out I'm sure it will be worth the wait when we debut our new product!

I'm sorry Shaggy, I didn't mean to sound like you said PKI doesn't listen to their guests. I was just trying to give another example of how the park listens to guests. I should've been more clear with my words. And by the way, I totally agree with you that 2005 will be a big year but we won't see a HUGE coaster.
-
They also surveyed guests in 2002 about a Giant Frisbee and look what we ot in 2003. This just goes to show you that PKI really does listen to their guests and that would include YOU.

I heard that the new sign has already been designed and approved by the park but it still needs to go through zoning laws. If the sign isn't approved then PKI will have to scale down the size to fit the zoning laws. Whatever happens, I think the park wants to make an extravegant sign so that when you see it, you'll know that you're AT Kings Island.
-
I'll still be at Skyline Express.

The newspaper article is already in the PKI News section of the forums.

Winter might be the off-season for the park's 3 million guests. But for the behind-the-scenes crew at Paramount's Kings Island, it's the on-season for the Tristate's leading tourist attraction. Greenhouse crews have begun growing the 26,000 annuals that will adorn the park throughout the year. The Son of Beast's red-and-yellow coaster cars have been dismantled part-by-part and sent off for inspections. Seamstresses are patching up Scooby-Doo and Rugrats costumes. Construction teams are hustling to make sure the park's largest project - the new Boomerang Bay water park - is ready for a May opening. Meanwhile, talent scouts have attended conventions and toured the Hershey theme park in Pennsylvania, checking out the competition and looking for new ideas to stay ahead in the competitive $10.3 billion industry that includes 600 amusement parks and attractions nationally. Human resources folks are gearing up to hire 5,000 seasonal workers. And while most of the hubbub is centered on the upcoming season, executives are already putting together new projects through 2007. Caring for the 364-acre theme park, one of the Midwest's largest magnets for tourists, is a year-round job. Crews don't just dust off the coasters and open the gates April 9. To read more Click Here.
