  1. While it was cheesy the commercial was better than the older commercials they used to have.
  2. Rivertown will just be blessed with the presense of TheRickster and me next year. What a fun time it will be! :cowboy:
  3. The Flyers are only listed in Rivertown for employees. To the general public, the Flyers are in Coney Mall.
  4. To say that the park would have been better off if Carl Linder did not decide to sell the park to Paramount is ludicrous. Linder's company American Financial quickly let the park turn into dirt. To this date Paramount buying out the park has been the best thing to happen to KI. The reason why you don't see any of the smaller flats that PKI has had over the years is because of Carl Linder. Instead of spending money, he just decided to remove the less important rides. You guys should be really happy that Paramount bought the park because I think they have done a lot to make PKI a better place.
  5. What your thinking of isn't the ArrowBATic. The Arrow Pipeline coaster is what you described. Arrow actually built a prototype, but the ride was too rough to sell to a park at that time. The only problem with the prototype was the loading of the coaster and the weight of the trains. The coaster was abandoned but after about a year later Arrow worked wit Alton Towers to produce the first Arrow Pipeline coaster. After Alton Towers saw the B&M invert they abandoned the coaster and decided to build Nemesis. Now the ArrowBATic is basically an inverted mad mouse coaster gone completely wild. The ride has 90 degree hills and even inversions. That is something no other mad mouse can offer. Sadly, no one has bought into this concept.
  6. They were tanks/submarines. They floated in the water and people from outside the water tank could pay money to shoot balls at the tanks/submarines. I don't know what the whole objective was though.
  7. Now don't be jumping the gun. For all we know, the person who took the pictures could of been an employee of the park or they could've been a construction worker. We at PKIC are just glad that we were graciously given some great photos of BB construction. Like BoddaH said, if the park asked us to take off the pictures on the site, we would do so immediately.
  8. I think you might be mistaken because the survey I linked to is for new ride concepts, not questions about your park. The survey is very interesting so I advise you all to check it out.
  9. ThrillResearch.com has released a brand new survey for new ride concepts at Paramount's Kings Island. The survey hints at new coaster themes of Star Trek, Mission Impossible, Tomb Raider, a few others, and especially the Italian Job and the Adam's Family. Click Here to take the survey. Remember, your vote counts!
  10. I absolutely loved Kenton Cove's Keelboat Canal. I had some good times on that ride. This ride was the type where you could effect the ride experience by what you did during the ride. I miss KCKC, but I think TR:TR is a good trade off.

    Flyer Rumor

You also have to factor in the weight of the train. If you want a calculation, then I'm sure Boddah can give us one since, after all, he is studying to become a roller coaster engineer.

  13. I'm still in the early processes, but I hope to offer membership to this group by the begining of the season. There is still time for you guys to tell me what you would like to see in this group and I will try to implement as many ideas as I can. Please give me your feedback on what you would like to see come with the "PKIC Enthusiast Group" idea. This is YOUR site!
  14. The Boomerang Bay updates just keep on rolling here at PKIC! This update includes the most-up-to-date pictures of Boomerang Bay construction! You can see in these HIGH QUALITY photos that most of the slide sections for Coolangatta Racers have arrived at the park and are waiting to be installed on the tower. Tazmanian Typhoon has made some steady progress and much more shipments of paneling for the ride have come in. Click Here to view the pictures. Stay tuned right here for more BB construction updates at PKI-Central.com, your number one source for Boomerang Bay construction! Also, give thanks to Ryan for weathering the cold to bring you this great update!
  15. If you really would like to attend this event, but something is not permitting you to go, don't worry because Ryan AKA BoddaH1994 will represent PKIC at the tour and will bring his camera to bring you the best shots of Boomerang Bay consturction you can find! We'll make sure that we get the pictures up ASAP and that will probably be just hours after the tour ends. Also, look for some new BB pictures from PKIC to come your way this week. It may even be tommorrow! :cowboy:
  16. Well, you really have two situations. It could go either way, but it seems like Jeff is trying to get us excited about this announcement. The first situation would be the park announcing new changes for the 04 season. I forget when PKI announced SBSP3D last year, but they might announce a new film to go in the Action F/X Theatre. They could also announce a new ride program for TR:TR, which is pretty evident that it will happen. The second situation would be the park announcing a new coaster for the 05 season. If PKI did announce a new coaster this early, you know that it would be a record breaking coaster. Why you might ask? PKI would need time to build the coaster, thus they would announce the ride earlier.
  17. The Flight of Fear Military T-Shirt Giveaway is now over and the winner is Fusiondude. Thanks goes out to everyone for making this a big success and congratualtions to Fusiondude for winning the contest.
  18. Building: If you want to get in a career of building rides, you'll most likely have to know someone to get hired in that company. If you Click Here you can find a story of a guy who got hired by Arrow Dynamics because he already knew someone who worked for the company. If you go Here then all of your questions can be answered if you would like to design amusement rides. Maintenance: This was the best site I could find for this career. If you want t find out more info, I'm sure that you could go to the park sometime and just try to talk shop with one of the maintenance men and they could give you the best answers to your questions. I don't know if they would really want to talk to you, since they still have a job to do, but it would be worth a shot.
  19. 1. Rivertown has The Beast. No coaster in Action Zone can rival this monster. 2. TR:TR resides in Rivertown. Where else can you find an enclosed Giant Top Spin? The answer is no where. Over in Action Zone, Delirium won't be the only Giant Frisbee in the world next year, but TR:TR will still be the only Giant Top Spin. 3. The employees in Rivertwon are much better. Does anyone in Action Zone get the guests pumped to ride an attraction like The Beast crew does? I don't think so. The AZ employees are too hung up on themselves, but the Rivertwon employees invole the guests in everything they do. 4. The food is much better in Rivertown. You can find Wings Diner, Potato Works, and Skyline Chili Footlong Express all in Rivertown. The best eatery in AZ is Stunt Crew Grill with their way overpriced hamburgers and hot dogs. 5. The atmosphere is better in Rivertown than in AZ. Although Rivertown does play country music, AZ just can't compare to the landscape. Basically, AZ is just a big pile of concrete. While on the other hand, Rivertown is filled with Trees and lush landscaping. 6. Night rides on The Beast can't be matched! I know that I've already talked about The Beast, but night rides on the bad ass machine are a totally different story. That's why it deserves it's own paragraph. A night ride on The Beast is better than the night rides of all the AZ attractions combined! 7. Did I mention that the employees are better in Rivertown and that I am one of them?
  20. 1. I'm sure that the park can setup for Winterfest in little or no time. 2. Isn't The Beach a waterpark? PKI still added a waterpark in 1989 when The Beach was right across the street, so what's stopping them from bringing back Winterfest? 3. If PKI held Winterfest only on the weekends, then there would be no problem at all. When PKI employees are done working at the park they find another job somewhere else. For Winterfest the employees would just stay for as long as Winterfest lasted. No one's opinion is ever right or wrong. This is a debate forum, so we need to start debating something! :jerry:
  21. I don't remember hearing too much Jimmy Buffet in Waterworks but I do remember hearing the Beach Boys all the time. That didn't bother me though because I used to love the Beach Boys when I was younger. I'm not sure if PKI will get rid of the Waterworks music, but I do think that we will hear more tropical music to go with the theme of Boomerang Bay.
  22. Well Paramount has learned that Vekoma is basically just garbage. I don't forsee any Vekomas coming to PKI, but maybe another Paramount park will get one. So what this discussion really should be about is will the next coaster be an Intamin or B&M? I'd put my money on B&M if PKI was going for a safe move, but I'd bet on an Intamin if PKI was going big. It's a proven fact that B&M rides are very reliable and hardly experience any downtime. It's also proven that Intamin will go farther than any other company in the roller coaster industry. We don't know who will make PKI's newest roller coaster, but I think we already know who will design it, and that is the great Werner Stengel. :cowboy:
