Kings Island angers special-needs parents
raptor replied to MarketingExpress's topic in Kings Island
If I had a child with that type of disability and being at Kings Island was such a wonderful thing for the child, and he had a problem waiting then I wouldn't mind giving someting up for the child to have a good day and pay the money for the Fast Lane. -

Yeah, how many Autistic kids would you be waiting for when it's your turn to get on the ride if they got discounted fast passes? The problem is this country has become a country of special priveledges. There is always some group expecting special treatment, and they usually get it. -

I don't believe in special privelages for anyone for any reason. If your child is in that bad of shape it seems to me you should have bigger problems than worrying about a ride at Kings Island. -

The best things in life are worth waiting for! -
The terrain around Flight Deck would be hard to do much with anyway. That's the reason its there at all. The ride was patterned after Vortex at Canada's Wonderland, and that was the only place in the park with terrain that would work with that layout. Hence why it feels like it's out of place and has a very long queue. (Though a very peaceful one IMO.) As for FD being a walk-on, it is an Arrow people eater, so it has that in its favor, but I'd really be surprised if new rides being around it would lower its ridership. Typically when a new ride is installed, the lines for those around it increase too. For example, X-Base. Flight of Fear was usually not that long of a wait before Firehawk was put in. Now it has a ridiculously long line since people go to Firehawk and ride Flight of Fear while they are there...or see Firehawk's line and go to FOF instead. My advice - enjoy Flight Deck as a walk-on while you have it. I've noticed that its line has gotten much shorter even now since SoB is no longer in that area. I can remember when I was in highschool in the mid 90's the line queue being packed. Seems funny to think of waiting that long for this type of ride now.

The Haunted House at Knoebel's -
I personally liked the ride, although if there are problems it's good to shut it down. Not every adult ride has to be a thrill. I like to take a break from the big coasters and ride a quiet relaxing ride. Although I'm too young to remember it I wish the skyride was still at Kings Island, but I guess the same kind of situation lead to it's demise. The trian was a relaxing ride until Cedar Fair felt the need to try, and I emphasise the word try to make the mc on the train into a comedian instead of just letting the guests enjoy the peacefulness of the woods.

How can Planet Snoopy stay the World's Best Kid's area?
raptor replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Kings Island
I love Knoebel's, there are so many great things about Knoebel's. A park doesn't have to be full of wild rides to be great. They have a terrific atmosphere. A good variety of stuff to do. Great Shops, an awesome Haunted House, the most incredible Carousel, One of the last Cuddle-Up's left if not the last, Great Food, and there is a lot of rides! Planet Snoopy is nice, but imo Idlewild is the best park for kids. -
Love to see a big new coaster that goes over near the lake. I am dissapointed to see the Spiral go, old vintage stuff like that brings charm to the park and I believe it was one of the oldest rides in the park.

How could you live without great quotes such as "Hatchbay, check the media feed now!" "Very funny, Major. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame me." "We don't know if this thing is false or genuine. We haven't completed our testing yet. Diiiiiick." perhaps they were funny the first 50 times, but as slow as that line moves hearing the same stuff repeated gets old.

I'd like to vote for no video at all.

I have already puchased a FL for a Halloweekends Saturday, so I would say they are available. Last couple years Halloweekends on a Saturday has been unbearable, I waited over an hour to ride the corkscrew, over 3 hours for MF, so I was spending most of my time just walking around, because I couldn't stand the waiting, so hopefully FL will be worth the price.

Ludlow Lagoon: What's there now?
raptor replied to beastfan11's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
There was also once a spot on the Ludlow Lagoon in a series I think called My Hometown, that I think channel 9 used to do with Joe Webb. The Kenton County Library used to have the video, whether they still do or not, I'm not sure. -
I saw this rumor on Screamscape, and I'll cross my fingers on that, that would be awesome, amusement parks just don't have enough dark rides anymore.

Apparently the Lake lasted for many years after the park closed, my neighbor used to drive down there to get water. They apparently drained it when they built Riverfront Stadium to dump debris. The Ludlow Images of America book has a lot of good picutres of the Park including the cover: http://www.amazon.com/Ludlow-Images-America-Judy-Neff/dp/0738543330/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1343828527&sr=8-1&keywords=ludlow+images+of+america This book tells the whole history of the park pretty much: http://www.amazon.com/Amusement-Greater-Cincinnati-Northern-Kentucky/dp/B0006S367U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1343828643&sr=8-2&keywords=ludlow+lagoon This site has a lot of good pictures of the park: http://www.nkyviews.com/kenton/kenton_lagoon_1.htm -
The one thing I do like better about Magnum than MF is that you have that long chain-lift climb up that first 200 foot hill, the new coasters almost go up them big hills to fast for one to fully appreciate and get hyped about how high you are.
