  1. I'm next to positive an already existing ride needs 1000 cycles or hours before it can open for the year. I would classify SOB as a new ride, thus it would most likely have more cycles needed.
  2. Why not 7am-7am? A full days worth? It would open in half the time. And 500 seems way to small. It took it 5 years for the wear and tear of the old cars to show up. 500 cycles just seems like way to little. At least for my comfort.
  3. For pre-existing rides at the beginning, I THINK it's 1000 hours or cycles. However, it would probably be more for a new ride.
  4. Well, they had 6 cars per train for two trains on the Hurricane. Now they have a 4 car train. Could we see 3 4car trains?
  5. No matter what BoddaH1994 says, he is always right. I hope they get on the track soon. Can't wait!
  6. I don't care how bad the pictures turned out, I want to see them...
  7. What time did you see the lights? While the sun was still up, or when it got dark?
  8. Could you tell if they were adding a train? Thanks for the update!
  9. I called Kroger stores yesterday and they did not know what I was talking about. What state are you in? I was just wondering. I'm tired so if you stated already where you are located please forgive my zombie-like state. Central Ohio.

  11. I thought two trains went through. The first one, the riders got off, complaining of the roughness. So the ops his the E-Stop. However, the train was past all the breaking points, and went over the spot. The second time, the track moved more, and people then got hurt. This is the train where people went to the hospital.
  12. Agreed, but to reiterate what Maureen posted originally after the incident, the crew reacted perfectly. The crew did an amazing job. Imagine had they not hit the E-Stop, and waited for the next train to come back to the station (the train where people were actually hurt), to figure out how bad that spot was. That means a third train would have been gone over that spot. The third train would have been horrible.
  13. I would hope it's testing in two weeks. It actually being opened to the public would be great!
  14. So, do you have to have the coupon to get the ticket? I didn't see a coupon, but of course, I didn't look. EDIT: Well, I called around. The nearest Speedway has the tickets, but for $29.99. So then I called Kroger. They had them for $19.95. They only had the Adult and Two day passes still. The Child/Senior was sold out. And they only had about 10 or so 19.95. I did not need a coupon. And I do not believe that the price was advertised.
  15. Does anyone know if the Columbus Area has the tickets for sale? I didn't see anything in the ad, but I really didn't look. I know Kroger always has them for sale up here. But I'm not sure if they have this discounted price.
  16. That should be a different scale. If I had never been to the park before and I had little kids, and I saw AE was a 5. I would have passed on the ride. Then when I see almost EVERYTHING in the park is a 5, I probably wouldn't come back. AE being a 5 is just besides me.
  17. Geauga Lake! I would have to say Canada's Wonderland then.
  18. Cedar Point is almost out of room. I don't see them getting another coaster next year.
  19. Not true. They weren't selling them. They were moving them to other paramount parks.
  20. Top Gun has worked fine for many many years now. Lets not tie it in with this troubled coaster. I love SOB. My favorite coaster in the park. But being in Action Zone, without that loud loud chain, and then hearing screams, something is missing for sure. I would not be surprised if one day, it just opens. Without any notice. I wouldn't be surprise to see it operate for an hour, and be closed for another week, to see the stress on the wood. Cedar Fair is going to get this coaster fixed right. The way Paramounts should have. Under Paramounts, this ride would be gone by now. Paramounts had 5 years to fix the bumps in this coaster. Yet they never put a full pledge effort. Cedar Fair is gonna see what they can do. But if this coaster has another mishap, I'm afraid it may become a multi-million dollar pile of fire wood.
  21. Did your birdie tell you if it was the part that broke?
  22. They are probably understaffed. It is still early in the season, and probably a lot of kids are still in school.
  23. Which half of the station did they use? The one closest to the The Racer or the farthest from it?
  24. I haven't been on SOB for almost 2 years now. So I sort of forget what the trains looked like. Are those the old ones? I thought that they were red AND yellow. However, those sure look like the old train style. EDIT: When I started to type this, TopGun didn't make his post.... So question answered.
  25. If it's a hyper coaster, I'd imagine they would have to start building it sooner then that. But I'm not a roller coaster building expert. So, the qualifications for a Hyper Coaster. I know the 200 feet. But is there a speed it needs it hit?
