  1. 5'6 280 could have a tough time on IJ...but if you let us get you in...we can get you in!
  2. OK, nostradamus, you may just be nostradamus! LOL 8-4-07...something seems to say...very special date in history, KIC members...haha. This should be good..
  3. Time for some rookie hazing... YOU LIKED MEAN STREAK?!?!?! Are you nuts??? haha im jk man, to each their own. I actually dont mind the ride that much!
  4. I have one simple solution for you! Take trashbag, or old poncho, or even Krogers bags and wrap the material of your choosing over the cast from about 2-3 inches above the cast on the arm down and around the fingers...you can choose to just wrap the material around the exposed cast on your palm or put a latex doctors glove over your hand so that you can use your fingers. Use tape of your choosing and wrap that around the material every 2-4 inches to make sure that it stays in place! When I broke my arm, I did not have a waterproof cast 8 years ago, instead just used the aforementioned method, and was able to swim as well as do anything else that had water! Also, I have seen many walking around the park with this! Hope that helps! You should then beable to have a fairly care free day at the park!
  5. Yeah, I was just giving ya a hard time Brad! Sounds like a lawsuit just waiting to happen though for the park.
  6. Hmm, I saw some on-ride video, you could have killed someone!!
  7. Tomb Raider...never have liked it, thought it was cool the first time, cant stand it now!
  8. I was just thinking that if FOF was removed, none of us would be wondering where the next themed land would go, I think that would have been a given. Now we are all sorta scratching our heads! lol
  9. Really nice TR!! And, I will take some heat for this, but, I actually really like the coloring of that Blue train and how it looks on the track with the logo. I personally believe that it looks VERY sharp, and wouldn't mind the other train being that blue as well!
  10. This is what prevents me from wanting a job at KI. I think some of the magic of the park would be lost by seeing behind the scenes. You need not worry about that aspect! My working at the park has only made the magic even greater, as I can now see first hand all of the hard work that goes into making all my previous visits so great and all those visits of other guests great as well! And of course you do get to see the internal workings of a theme park, which is actually really cool stuff!
  11. Disney world is correct! BTW, Raptor, you are still confusing a 'water' ride with a leisurely boat ride. WTRA is not just a 'water' ride but a fastpaced FLUME i.e. YOU WILL GET WET!
  12. I am glad that ours is in a building, the ride just looks ugly without it, least thats my take!
  13. If rides that have a launch do not achieve a proper minimum speed mandated by the manufacturer to complete the course, then they will Area stop themselves on the launch LIMs.
  14. We are in complete agreement on Days of Thunder, it was by far the best! Firehawk is the first Cedar Fair attraction to come to KI so it would make sense that you could forsee a DJ booth going in somewhere. I have a feeling though, that any newer rides we start to get will be equipped with DJ booths, as they will be the only rides to have long Q's. As that is in the future, none of us know what will happen, but I see that as a possibility myself.
  15. I just hope that it opens this year with no problems and isn't a bad ride, all this shoulda coulda woulda stuff is giving me more of a headache then sonny ever did! And, remember, it was said at one point in time that the G-trains may not be the end-all, but could make the ride experience formidable while a new train maker could be sought. So, I think KI has 4 choices, tear it down, new set of trains (if these don't work all that great), pre-fab track, or some Gemini steel track. I hope these Gerstlauers we have will take care of the issue, but it seems to be a little too rough for track just to be the issue.
  16. I'm not completely sure about that. I do not think that there is a segment where you legitimately get hosed. Im thinking of the story line in my head and the scenery, and the last segment is everyone on the riverboat (one of the largest single animated attractions in the world) singing zippadee do dah. I still for the life of me, cant remember getting hosed anywhere even near there.
  17. People that thing Gemini is a wooden coaster........gezz Cory I thought you'd know better Haha, I was hoping someone would catch that eventually! That was an allusion to all the misinformation in this thread, and all the talk that there are no smooth woodies, haha, I figured other people can use some misinformation...why not me? haha, a little humor never hurt anyone. Figured I'd see who would bite!
  18. ^ditto what Ryan said! Sounds like you all had a great birthday party there at the Island! Hopefully this will just be the start of his thrill seeking career!
  19. I have never eaten in a Golden Corral where the food wasnt cooked-to-order perfect for breakfast or lunch/dinner, nor have I ever eaten in a Old Country Buffet that didnt have some amazing breakfast. Partially the reason why I love those places! Now Ryan's on the other hand was good, but not as good!
  20. Haha, and why would that be? But thanks, I guess?!? Look at Cedar Point, I would say speakers and DJ boxes will become a thing of our future. Which really, I kind of like, if Im not talking to my friends, Im listening to the music, and barely have enough time to look at a screen. Of course, just because thats what Cedar Point does doesn't mean it will be what we do. I for one like requesting "Dashboard" by Modest Mouse
  21. My 4 favorite Wooden Rollercoasters of all time are Blue Streak, Gemini, Gwazi, and Beast! I was so thrilled with Blue Streak, my friend and I rode it 9 times this past tuesday, and a total of 13 times the two times weve went to CP, we think it is one of the best rides there, three of the four that I just mentioned are not all that rough! To me, Beast's fun factor is all in looking at squirrels in the trees...it ranks 4th...well ok, it may beat out Blue Streak... but only because of the top speed and the fact that your mind bends in those helixes!!
  22. Not particularly, I tend to be off to come back from Cedar Point, But I wont be going there for a while...so I pretty much work every day!
  23. Short, sweet, to the point, with some reminiscing and a look torwards the future...thats how I like my trip reports! Sounds like you had a nice leisurely day at the park!
  24. Yeah deffinately try out a wednesday!
  25. Why is Wednesdays better than Tuesday/Thursday? Purely based on a mini case study...that is just the way that the chips have fallen, less people have come on wednesdays than any other days....since the beginning of the year....and for any other park that I've ever visited. If I had to make a conclusive statement as to the influences of low lines on Wednesdays it would have to do with the fact that not many people specifically have the middle of the week off, and that all of your people from out of town, will either come for a weekend, or a three day week starting on Friday or ending on Monday, or will stretch it one day further moving into tuesday or Thursday..Wednesday however seems to not get touched, except for maybe the 4th this month. Last Wednesday, IJ:ST never had a line over 15 minutes while I was working, and it was ten minutes or less for nearly the whole shift! On other days we get into the 20's and 30's.
