Spending far too much time reading forums, love doing it though for when I can't be out at a park. Or camping, or laying on a beach or both. :)

  1. I definitely hope they don't go and I could see Cedar Point hanging on to theirs longer. Given recent news though they could very well be removed to make way for "better guest experience."
  2. I get the sentiment but if it fell through and this group buys up more shares. Then Six Flags could just get sold off to developers because that would give more money to the shareholders. Which would obviously destroy the parks. So I’ve changed my tune on the merger.
  3. Pretty sure RMC has already replaced most if not all the gravity sections of track on Blazing Fury. Also the water splashdown was replaced years ago with magnetic breaking. DW has done some ride surveys though with both dark rides and an indoor coaster but with Wildwood Grove style theming. Not saying they won’t eventually replace Blazing Fury but for now it seems they are invested in maintaining it. With Fire in the Hole original closing also seems they can gain a lot of parts they could refurbish to keep BF going for a long time.
  4. Wow my bad.. I could’ve sworn they were four across. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. If this is indeed Zamperla which it seems it likely will be. How will the 4 across lightning trains have clearance on that downward spiral? Would they make a 2 across version or are the clearances bigger than I'm thinking?
  6. While not a huge difference per Zamperla's website the 48 seater is 1.5 meters larger in diameter (likely just how double seats would center versus single) and .4 meters more in height during operation (that part I'm not sure what makes up the difference unless the seat connection hardware is slightly taller)
  7. In regards to the capacity of the Endeavour, I do wonder if the 48 seat model has similar issues to the OG Enterprises. Some people are happy to sit beside someone but I often see people wanting their own row/car/cage whatever with flat rides in general. While the 48 technically can hold double the amount of people when you factor in everything else I really doubt actual capacity doubles. I'm more upset that Der Spinnin Ke.... I mean Cargo Loco doesn't have a tilting platform.
  8. I think it new additions or a new entrance will solely depend what the fair board ends up doing. I remember one of the recent proposals had the road re-routed which would unify the park and be a curious tale of how they would utilize that space. However I haven't seen the road re-routing in the most recent plans where they've even talked about boring a tunnel to connect the fairgrounds to downtown. I think Herschend is taking a wait and see approach and with good reason, so I believe we'll only see minimal investment until that's all sorted.
  9. Has the Summer Pass been available for a while or is that new?
  10. ^While the saucer could have equal or more strength not being a saucer the visual appeal wouldn't be as nice. One ride benefit to the saucer is that it changes the envelope clearance. You could do the same maneuver with an open top tube or an enclosed one but adding the additional space to one side allows you to flatten what would otherwise be the tube. Even though in normal conditions you'd be well on the outside wall of the turn you can't cut away that portion of the tube you're not normally riding on, with the saucer you can cut that back. Granted it doesn't really need to be a full saucer shape, but it looks cooler that way.
  11. Diversity in a ride line-up seems like a good thing. I still love Kings Island but when SOB was around and King Cobra and even Recar the park seemed like it offered just as much as they do today if not perhaps a little bit more then. As for being two across I think there's a few reasons. More compact layout, quicker dispatches, and just that vest restraints take up more horizontal space. It doesn't have to be a top 10 ride or even the best ride at the park. It just needs to be a fun ride that's a little different. At one point it seemed as though the stand-up was a staple at the major parks, I wish it still was.
  12. I really get the feeling this will be the family launch coaster Zamperla introduced but normal launch and no turntable. At first I was a bit sad at that thought but then remembered Busch Gardens went with Zierer for Verbolten. Allows more money for theming which I think this will have a fair amount. Plus they have the multiple train types which I think they'll go with the Hargrid's knock off moto-coaster with side car style.
  13. With the second resort announced and them even planning #3, #4, and #5 I wonder how far out we are from them exploring another gate. I have no doubt they can continue to grow the current park and water park but I'm not sure it needs to grow all too much more. Feels like it'll soon get to a point to where if they want to keep the charm and with the already difficult to traverse terrain, some investing might be better suited to a new project.
  14. If someone would go to Vekoma and be like we appreciate what you've been doing recently but we want to give you B&M type money what can you do? I think the outcome could be amazing and something I would like to see replace Vortex. Edited to add... or S&S Axis coaster.
  15. Maybe Cedar Fair will give Knott's a mirrored version of Jersey Devil... just kiddin but would almost be hilarious if it happened. Still wouldn't be a bad investment necessarily.
