I'm not sure how much it actually benefits the park anyway. I always avoid the heck out of the tournament time because of traffic.
-
Back in the Paramount days when there was a LOT more asphalt in the park, it would always reek on the first weekends from the seal coating, hit you walking up towards the entrance plaza and took at least a week after opening to fade.

Baynum photos of Diamondback.

Well, there ARE two lifts... Might be why they had that crane up on the first lift the other day, removing the old one?

When did Adventure Express get RMC'd?!
-
I like how up close and personal Cargo Loco will be with the midway. Looks like Sol Spin's mechanical building is almost ready and we're getting really close to seeing the actual ride hardware for both of them.
-
The rope work up top is nice too.
-
It would actually be, layout-wise, a little strange to make it part of Adventure Port considering the location across from the Tower Gardens entrance, which is very much I-Street. Maybe they decided not to try splitting areas in the middle of the midway there.
-
Despite what the map says, I think they might have dropped it from being part of Adventure Port. No repaint, and no new concrete to or around it. It doesn't really fit in either AP or I-Street, honestly it would probably fit best in Coney. There are better things that building could be used for.

Derp. Okay, see where I said 6? Replace that with 7. Now see where I said 5? Replace that with 6.

I wonder what the structural stress difference is on our ride vs CW's ride because of the trains. Ours runs 6-car trains while theirs runs 5-car trains.
-
Never even thought about trying it, but it was the best spectator sport in the park.

I've been under the impression that Vortex's demise wasn't known until sometime during the final season, maybe even as late as the end of the summer season. I'm not saying this is the case with Bat, but it's still concerning. Hopefully it's a mechanical issue like the lift motor or other equipment that just needs to be replaced, and they don't have the needed parts or equipment in yet. Bad case of that in Action Zone right now if it's a matter of waiting for parts work.

The Coney games storage building by Racer's exit and the new AE entrance was Skylab's machinery building, so it's interesting they ended up being so close together.
-
When Top Gun was built, the monorail was still in service. It's not just a matter of being the same layout as CW, they had to work around the monorail track and station.
-
This is why I said not to jump to conclusions on opening weekend. They've gotten a lot done in the last 5 days.
-
I expect we're getting close to ride hardware installation, underground utility work and foundations are just about ready.
-
Anyone seen wearing the Adventure Express one yet is a confirmed liar, lol.

Carowinds also. -
Jumping the gun a little on Adventure Express, but a nice set regardless.

I never really considered it line jumping because the line was never actually back that far, but it would be interesting if there had been a camera aimed at "that spot" on the Top Gun exit and someone keeping an official count of how many people took the shortcut to ride SoB over the years. Unless they needed some kind of emergency quick evac from the SoB queue, I'm really not sure why there was just a chain there. It was useful when it became Wolf Pack as the entrance, but it always seemed like it should have just been normal railing.
