  1. That's true, but that would only add to the disappointment, in my mind. Say a person goes to a Six Flags park routinely and rides Batman The Ride. Then after several years, they decide to go on vacation and hit another Six Flags park, expecting all new rides. Then they find the same Batman The Ride there. It seems like they'd be upset because they paid all that money to go see something new, and could almost just go to the park near their home and get the same thing. On another note: I just got a call from my friend who works at KI, and he said that he saw some inverted coaster track going north on 275, probably from the B&M place in Batavia. Could KI possibly be getting a new inverted coaster? I don't think it would be for Thunderhawk at Michigan's Adventure, unless they had to refabricate some of the pieces. Interesting......
  2. I hope not... cloning is a dumb idea if you ask me. Sure, it's easy and cost-effective to use an already-existing design and re-use it. But shouldn't every park have unique rides to draw visitors from all over the country, rather than having the same rides in a different place?
  3. Seeing as SFGAm is my new home park (I moved to Chicago this summer), I SHOULD be upset about this. But I'm not. Why, you ask? Not because it was never running. Rather when it WAS finally running, I realized that I'm too tall to ride at 6'6". >: ( Design your restraints better, Vekoma!
  4. Because Bill Gates and the people of Cincinnati have so much history together compared to any other place.....

    eek! Top gun!

But the thing is, KI has so many of coasters just like that... Adventure Express, Racer, Top Gun, IJST. I'd even almost say that The Beast is a moderate ride. You don't need to be the bravest soul to ride The Beast. Anyway.. I think KI definitely needs one stand-out gigantic ride. They tried to get it in 2000 with that piece of crap in Action Zone. But that was an utter failure IMO. Other than that, their biggest rides are Firehawk, Vortex, Face/Off, and Drop Zone. A large hyper- or giga-coaster would do wonders for KI in my opinion.
  6. KI definitely needs more flats. I'm really not sure what they need though. I think one of the more underrated flats is Condor at Six Flags Great America. Imagine Shake, Rattle, & Roll, but the arms don't tilt and it goes about 60 feet in the air. I think that's a very fun ride, and if they made something like that, but about 150 feet tall and with arms that tilted like Shake, Rattle, & Roll, that would be a really thrilling ride I think! Or they could just invest in CHAOS! That's probably my favorite flat ever. It's so out of control
  7. In 2000 I made it to CP for MF's opening year, and my first ride was on a chiilly rainy day in May. It was not a pleasant rain, but that still goes down as the best roller coaster ride I've ever been on. I'll never forget how scared I got when I was at the top of that lift so fast and I looked straight down the structure on the left side. Best in the business.
  8. Are you sure that maintenance is a big issue on DD? I've never seen that ride not running due to maintenance, and there's never more than 3 ops running it because there's never a line.
  9. Do they ever run the 2nd elevator on the Eiffel Tower any more? I can't remember the last time I went when the crowd was big enough to run the park with a capacity staff.
  10. When did the meaning of "pleasant experience" change to "an event involving severe pain"?
  11. ^ That would be so awful if that happened... yet hilarious...
  12. I dont think they'll do that... I think they'll definitely either re-theme it, or just tear down the building. I like the idea of the outdoor top-spin. It allows for more non-rider interaction. A lot of people like watching all those people get tossed around and hung upside-down and such.
  13. I wholly agree. The music in Coney Mall was great... like a spooky carnival. But then I went back by FoF and FH, and there was Beyonce... That just took all the fear in me and turned it into annoyance and no fear. Pretty dumb if you ask me.

    I miss this

Yikes. This is turning ugly... Anyway... Nice story TomKatt! And get off your pedestal, Beast1979. The eagles were one of the best parts of my visit to KI. I used to work in Kenwood and if I got out around 7 or 8, I'd often make a few-hour trip up to KI and just ride the eagles again and again. Those were the days... <3
  15. Maverick Mantis Magnum Millennium Force Mean Streak CCMine Ride Raptor Gemini Jr. Gemini DT Woodstock's Express Wicked Twister Blue Streak Corkscrew Iron Dragon Wildcat TTD yay! (Don't ask why I did... I just had to see if I could name them all off the top of my head.)
  16. Yeah I agree.. Usually I'm actually an avid fan of cruel and morbid humor, but this crosses the line a little bit... And I don't think it's too funny at all.
  17. ^I totally agree. I went to KD one time, and was super excited for Volcano. The two LIM runs are really fun, as is the blast through the volcano. But after that it's really repetitive and boring IMO. Hypersonic was way better
  18. ^You're right... Because it's going in MY BACK YARD! Yep, I bought it myself. If anyone wants to ride, I'll only charge $3 per ride, or $15 for an all day pass! *please don't take this seriously haha*
  19. ^^Yeah, you said it yourself. Great America COULD be sold. Does that mean there's no chance of them getting a new ride? Don't think so. And in my personal opinion, I think it's unlikely that it will be sold. Cedar Fair has made it clear that they're not favorable toward the new stadium idea.
  20. You mean like trees, fountains, gardens, and ponds? Because I'm pretty sure KI has lots of those...
  21. Chances are, they would probably run into the same problems that they are right now with the minors at Halloween Haunt, and they'd have to leave early. But if they could somehow do it, that would be AWESOME! though I'm sure not very beneficial at all. Not many people would stay into the wee hours of the night riding rides, and it would cost them a fortune to staff the park for so few people. Not a good business idea.
  22. So I'm going to outright say it... my source isn't exactly reliable. It's just a friend that works at KI. But he keeps telling me that Tomb Raider is getting the axe and is going to be removed. Personally I'd love to see it, and then they could put a big ride back there to revitalize Rivertown. But I guess only time will tell.

    Halloween Haunt

First of all, calm down. Now that that's settled... I think that most 13 year olds would be ok with it. I actually expected it to be a lot worse than it was. I voted that it should become a 17 and up event. Maybe I'm being selfish, but for me, haunted houses should be TERRIFYING
