  1. CoastersRZ is right, the track and supports always get nicks and scratches during assembly. I believe that after a new coaster is installed they typically go back and do touch up painting to cover the scratches and such. It would be counter productive to paint the track a new color before assembling it and then going back again and doing touch ups.
  2. Those two slides are a good addition for the Beach, in my opinion. Neither of them will leave guests in awe or anything, but they were by far the two best slides at Wyndot and for less than a thousand will certaintly improve the Beach's overall lineup. If I remember correctly, the black slide is actually two slides that stand next to each other and have nearly identical layouts. The tan slide was a deck lower on the same tower and only had one slide. When I was younger the black slides or "Jet Stream" used to always scare me because they have a gap at the top by a drop and I always thought i was going to fly out of the gap.
  3. ^Interpreter, may I ask why you only count wooden coasters and volcano towards your count number?
  4. I personally always wear my Brooks running shoes. They're by far the most comfortable and durable pair of shoes I've ever owned. A tip I have for people who said that wet socks make their feet hurt, you should invest in a pair of dry-fit socks. They're wonderful because they dry out much quicker than an average pair of socks; I recommend these for any one who has a problem with wet socks.
  5. I'd say the loudest lift hill I've ever heard was on the coaster that's supposedly headed our way. It gave me a headache the thing was so darn loud.
  6. The great thing about humans is that while none of us are perfect, we as a people have continually strived to better ourselves and our conditions ever since the cave man discovered fire. In fact, I would say that being complacent and not striving to better yourself (in this case spelling) is a very unhuman characteristic. Imagine if after Edison's first failure at the light bulb he would have said "oh well, I'm just human and not perfect, so this will never work" and given up. If everyone carried your attitude of saying they couldn't improve because they were "just human" (which by the way is a great thing to be), we'd still be living in caves. Luckily for the human race your line of thinking and complacency is an anomally and not the trend. Im just saying! Is that if i dont wanna improve my spelling, i dont have to. And haveing a choice will be the best thing in your life. Also give me a fact that caveman discoverd fire, also , Sicence can only go so far, then comes god =) According to wikipedia, the first controlled man made fire remains that have been are at the Cradle of Humankind in South Africa. According to the page it states that the humanoid ancestor, Australopithecus, lived there. This means that I was incorrect earlier because Australopithecus came long before the caveman, or Cro-Magnons. I'm not sure if you consider this a "fact" that fire was discovered, but using the definition of discover "to find out what one did not previously know" it's common sense to know that some where along the line some humanoid creature discovered fire. I've already fed the troll too much, I'll attempt to stop feeding it and hopefully it will starve and die.

  8. I still don't buy it. I know they're more reliable but if they haven't had a problem yet why bother now. Plus buried power lines are most beneficial when something like an ice or wind storm occurs and burying just the little section on KI property isn't likely to reduce the chance of losing power. In my neighborhood most of the lines are buried, yet we still loose power in some bad storms because a line far away is knocked out.
  9. Burying power lines is expensive and I'm sure KI could care less about burying them. The only people that would care is the Great Wolf owners and something tells me that Great Wolf doesn't care about the view enough to foot the bill to bury the lines.
  10. I believe Son of Beast isn't in the 2007 Capital Addition... and like i said in my last post, we didn't buy X-flight it was a "inside" trade. So therefor I believe that there are two new attractions. Also im betting that Thejoker8388 couldnt tell how far 10million USD goes in the amusement parks... I want a fine example from you Thejoker8388 , I would like to add some Major thrill rides Kings Island added that are 10million usd or under ~~~~~~~ ~thrill rides~ -Delirium -Drop Zone !rollercoasters! -Vortex -The Beast -The Racers LOL and you tell me 10 million doesnt go far in amusement parks terms Hey the full sized Eiffel Tower only cost $250,000 dollars to build, maybe we'll get that in place of our minature one next year. I mean it's only 1/40 of what they have to spend! Oh wait a second, the price to build something decades ago isn't the same price today? Darn that little thing called inflation. As others mentioned, all three roller coasters would be more than $10 million today and then drop zone cost $10 million exactly 7 years ago, so from your entire example that leaves Delirium as legitimate by today's standards. Read what it said the $10 million would go towards again, it says additions and IMPORVEMENTS. I have a feeling that KI will recieve a lot of improvements next year seeing as Paramount neglected some upkeep. I know your name is Rumor Smasher and I don't expect you to live up to the name because you've already proven you can't, but please don't do the exact opposite of what your name states and start a rumor. I'm going to go ahead and say YOUR RUMOR IS SMASHED.
  11. I'm betting some people here don't understand that $10 million doesn't go very far in amusement park terms. As several others have said the relocation of X-flight, SOB repairs, and general repairs/upkeep will easily cost $10 million, although I would like to see a nice new place to eat.
  12. I'm going to say that everything he said is a complete lie. Every time this person posts it's always a lie about something. First Wonderland was getting a B&M hyper, then Carowinds was getting an Intamin rocket, then as mentioned by Combat the Survivor ride. The list goes on and on, don't listen to this poster. He has yet to post one honest thing.
  13. I'm not accusing anyone of anything yet. If you look at what I said, I stated that I wondered which it was, giving people the benefit of the doubt for now. I just simply wonder if this is an actual rumor or more like the one started last year, where 5-10 people all claimed they "knew from an inside source" that a spongebob coaster was coming.
  14. Well we've now seen that the loop is still there. Now my question is if there actually are plans of removing the loop or if some members on this site are full of crap and a sense of knowledge, power, and self importance that they don't have.
  15. I myself am a Columbus resident and this sounds amazing. A spinning coaster? That's one type of coaster I've always felt would fit really well into the PKI lineup. I wonder who the maker will be. In my wildest dreams it'd be a Maurer Söhne, but whatever it is it should be amazing. I just went to the zoo last week for the Christmas lights and it's already under going a major transformation. They have a new huge paved parking lot, instead of the old gravel lot and the new Asia exhibit is world class and only half of it's open. The Columbus Zoo is already known as one of the nicer zoos in the nation but after all these additions are done it should become a premier, nationaly recognized zoo. I can't wait to see what the zoo looks like after all these additions.
  16. That picture is nice and if X-flight is coming to PKI I'd bet it is going next to FOF. The problem is that as others have said, the scaling is way off and I bet the station would be closer to the walk way, maybe angled 45 degrees or so.
  17. Wow, PKIDelirium is right. I never caught on to what he's doing and I usually notice stuff like that. If you go through and look at his replies he mentions ASO in most of his posts and in at least three he claims to have "just discovered" the site. Somehow I don't think you "just discover" something more than once. Nice catch PKIDelirium.
  18. That whole website has been proven several times to be a complete load of crock. I forget exactly what it was but basically these people act as if they have some sort of authority and power when in actuality they have nothing. Not saying the injuries are made up, but I believe that they fabricate alot of the stuff said on the site.
  19. Like I said earlier this poster has a history of doing similar things. I don't know what gratification he gets from it, but anyone who has been here for several years instantly can pick out all his "new ride" annocements out as pure fiction. Here's my favorite of his "hey all...i work at PCW and I am in the Staff Parking Lot ALL THE TIME!!! And It Is True!!!! but the track isnt for a floorless its for a b&m mega....but it isnt gonna be that big at all.....nothing likeSFGA Nitro which is like 215 feet tall ive seen some set up designs and supposively is just over 150 feet....thats why if you look towards medeval faire and you see the there taking ap[art cliffhanger "for mechanical reasons" youll know that thet is the future home of this coasters begining queue line. Ive seen designs and its only available for staff to view but wont be availabe for the public to see till late 2006 if not the early 2007....i would guess for a 2008 or2009 release!!! Keep our fingers crossed!!! The Name is "BORG Assimilator" Itll be on the rcdb.com in two years.....according to my guesses of public release!!!" Obviously it's a lie. I don't mean to be harsh but don't believe anything he says.
  20. I don't know...He's also the guy a year ago who said he saw B&M track in the PCW parking lot for a new hyper and that Pcar was getting an Intamin Rocket, so I don't believe him in the least. It may be true, but he has lied several times before.
  21. ^I'd tend to believe you, I know he also went to Louisville and passed through the speed engineering program, so I'd say it's very believable. Also great job on getting into a very exclusive industry. This coaster looks pretty fun, imo. It won't be the most forceful or intense ride but it should offer a nice smooth fun ride with some floater air. My only complaint is the name Renegade. I've been using the name Renegade for years for different rides in RCT. I thought it was a good original name and now that it's the name of a real coaster it doesn't have the originality any more. Oh well, like I said this looks like a great coaster.
  22. ^Very true, it seems to go quicker and quicker every year.
  23. Now I completly disagree with the last part of your post there. If you take away all of Maverick's themeing it wouldn't appear to be nearly as good of a ride. Those quick switches from banking right to left after the first drop wouldn't be half of what they appear to be with the themeing. The fake rocks will make the ride seem faster and more intense and the water feature under the two corkscrews just looks really cool. Also that heartline roll looks much better surrounded by rocks than it would just over grass. Maverick is a coaster that doesn't look like it necessarily needed themeing, but the themeing will make this coaster a step above in my opinion. I have a feeling that this ride my become my new favorite coaster at CP. Gemini has long been my favorite even after Raptor, MF, and TTD have been built. Maverick appears to have all the components to become one of my favorite steel coasters, if not the overall favorite.
  24. Am I the only one that found Mean Streak terrible this year. I only rode it once and decided not to again for the rest of the year. My friends got off proclaiming it was the worst ride they'd ever been on and they've all been on Villian and SOB. Now I wouldn't say Mean Streak is as bad as Villian but it goes to show that this ride is not well maintained as some have been claiming this year. These same friends rode Blue Streak four times in a row and loved it. So they aren't just haters of wooden coasters. To me it seems like CF has trouble maintaining larger woodies. Rides like Blue Streak and Big Dipper ride wonderfully, but they are also fairly small. Large rides like Villian, Mean Streak, and from what I hear Shivering Timbers, and Ghost Rider don't ride nearly as well as they did before CF or in the case of Mean Streak that well after the first couple years. This is why I'm sad but not holding much hope for SOB or Beast.
