Terp, is it okay if I like Hershey's Special Dark instead of Snickers...or would that make me a traitor?

Isn't a Banshee a Screaming Demon? No, not really. A Banshee is simply a legendary female spirit that wails when someone is about to die. It doesn't necessarily imply the spirit is a demon. Well, ghost, spirit, and demon are regularly used interchangeably. Or at least they are in the haunt stories put out by the Warrens. Perhaps I've been listening to too much of those. I never really think of those as being interchangeable. To me, a demon holds the explicit connotation of being evil, whereas a ghost or spirit doesn't always. If you're a Christian, you know that there are good spirits and evil spirits. The Banshee can appear old and decrepit, or beautiful, and is simply associated with a female spirit or "fairy" that announces an impending death. Maybe we're also reading too much into "Snickers" and "diversions".

I always ride in the back. I like to feel as though I'm being pulled along instead of pushed. I seem to feel the hills and curves more.

LOL! I wasn't really trying to get you. I was just being stubborn. I actually like The Bat, too. Would make for an awesome resurrection of that name. I rode The Bat one time....only one time...and it hurt. The next day my muscles were killing me, so I went to the doctor and told him I'd ridden The Bat. He told me "Maybe it's better to not ride the Batman anymore". LOL! So much for him actually hearing what I said.

^Welllllllllll....it had 2 coasters utilizing the name "Beast" at one time. And it has 2 steel coasters with names that imply dizziness and disorientation - Invertigo and Vortex. And it has a coaster named Flight of Fear, which would be similar to the Banshee theme. Cedar Point has Blue Streak and Mean Streak.

The Name Banshee is rather old.As far as names go. Perhaps, but it's never actually been used for a coaster before. I don't think Mantis really counts since it didn't open with the "Banshee" name. And besides, the name "King Cobra" and "The Bat" are much older....and in the context of Terp's comment, I'd be more inclined to say they better fit the phrase "what was old is new again". Just my humble opinion. Speaking of which....why are people so sure our coaster will be called "Banshee"? ?? Why would it be the end for Vortex? The Bat was a suspended coaster. If we get a new B&M invert, it would be a different coaster experience than Vortex. Regardless of the name of the new coaster, I don't think Vortex is going anywhere anytime soon.

I keep reading the word "FUN"...which, as someone pointed out to me earlier, is Cedar Fair's initials on the NYSE. I also keep seeing "diversion". The stock market is known for going up and down, like a rollercoaster. Sometimes it even dives really low. So I'm guessing this coaster will obviously go up and down, but could also dive really low at points. Perhaps it will dive into an underground tunnel...or the "underworld". "Everything old is new again". Could it be that we're getting an old name for a new coaster? Will this maybe be a return of the King Cobra name, or The Bat, only resurrected into a bigger and more powerful version of its former self?

If it bothers you so much, don't look at it. You need to learn how to take a joke. Why did the bubble gum cross the road? It was stuck to the chicken's foot. There, I made a joke. It's not that I don't know how to take a joke - however, I get tired of coming into this thread hoping to see a serious discussion, but only seeing off-topic nonsense. But I guess that's my problem. I thought part of the Terms of Service included keeping posts on-topic, but after reading them again I found out that's not true. I've been a member for 6 years, so I just now re-read them. So I apologize. It's just that sometimes after I've been out of here for a while, I want to come back in to read updates. After wading through a few additional pages of posts, I sometimes discover that very little has been discussed about the project. And those who do offer opinions, or ask questions, get criticized. Sometimes the questions don't even get answered. So it makes me feel like I've wasted my time when I honestly have other things I could have been doing. But listen, I'm truly sorry. I don't mean to sound like an a$$. Hope you'll forgive me.

They may have moved it back inside for painting. There's a video on in this thread somewhere a few pages back which talks about how CSF puts the track outside for a while to allow rust to form. I guess it helps them find imperfections in the track (??).

Getting really really tired of taking the time to come here for updates, and actual "decoding", only to find it's a bunch of childish nonsense. I have better things to do with my time than wade through all the crap going on in this thread. Can we either stay on-topic, or start a whole new thread for goofing off? People have asked legitimate questions, and all you guys want to do is crack jokes and dismiss the questions. You KNOW what Brian5475E meant. I'm really scratching my head in wonder that ANYONE bothers to come here anymore.

Maybe a clearing for shooting off fireworks...?

Hi, Michigander19 - welcome to the site. I just wanted to point out, as shown in the following screenshots, that you can also click where it says "Page [#] of [#]" and manually type in the page number you want to view, then hit "Go".

Yeah, I thought I was old too, but apparently not wise. More and more each day I keep discovering how little I know, and how stupid I am, and how much bad advice I've given to people in my life. Thanks again for the clarification. Have a good night, Terp.
-
How do you guys know about all this stuff? I feel so stupid compared to you guys.

All store-bought eggs are pasteurized. This is not true. Actually VERY few shell eggs are. The process is patented, expensive and rare. That's odd. I thought I read that the FDA requires it. Ohhh. Maybe that's what I'm thinking of....egg products. Eeesh....sorry about my bad comment, guys. I'll go edit it. Thanks for the clarification.

All store-bought eggs are pasteurized. Disregard. I stand humbly corrected.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at WDW
secondson replied to Screaming_Chicken's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The intensity of the coaster is supposed to be somewhere between Barnstormer and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2013-06-05/the-daily-disney/os-disney-seven-dwarfs-mine-train-complete-20130605_1_new-fantasyland-princess-fairytale-hall-seven-dwarfs-mine-train -
This WHAS report indicates they are spending $7 million on the new steel coaster for next year, so I doubt it will be a significantly large coaster. Most likely a wild mouse or perhaps a transplant from a different park.

I may have misunderstood the video, but I think Matt Ouimet already said there isn't much improvement needed for KI's front gate. That looks like an amazingly fun ride. I'd be very happy if KI got something like that. Thanks for sharing.

??? I don't know if I should mention the TOS here or not, is this a one word response? It seems like a zero word response... What else do you say in response to someone trying to argue with a unknowlegable reply? I believe he was asking if you meant the Superman:Ride of Steel clones or the Superman:Ultimate Flight clones, as TheCrypt said, there are significant differences between the two. Ok.......and for the record the flying dutchmen are far superior than the ultimate flights. "For the record"...?? That's a declarative statement which implies there is an authoritative body that makes decisions about such matters. Can you post a link to this authority upon which you base your assertion? Not sure why I'm bothering to ask, because you'll probably ignore my question anyway.

Site won't let me log out
secondson replied to secondson's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
Yeah, I thought exiting the browser would fix it....but after trying that several times, I found it didn't work. And I rarely use the "Remember me" feature, but after testing it a bit this evening, I found that didn't help either. Thanks for the response. I'll give that a try and see what happens. Thanks! -
Not sure if this is related to KICentral or not. When I leave the site, I sign out first. But then when I come back to the forums later, it shows me as already being logged in. Does anyone know why that happens?

You know, I'm really getting kinda p!ssed off about this thread. On one hand people b!tch, gripe, and moan because no one is actually decoding. But then when some of us start throwing ideas out there, we're confronted and made to feel we're wrong and/or posting insane ideas. Screw it. I'm done with this joke of a thread. I'll wait until the actual announcement before adding any other thoughts about the project.
