KINGS ISLAND TRIAL updates and discussion
standbyme replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
Maybe you need to go see her doctor! -
I wouldn't have thought that was possible.

Hi Josh, There is already a similar type of thread: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...1&hl=things (And no, I won't say you should have searched for it...sometimes that can be hard if you don't know what the thread might be called. )

KINGS ISLAND TRIAL updates and discussion
standbyme replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
This is an example of why our legal system drives me nuts...common sense is thrown out the window. It would appear to me that it was the lady's fault because she unbuckled the belt and worked her way out...but a lawyer will argue that the park should have made it impossible for her to do this. -

I'll sidetrack this discussion for a moment... (How's that for searching for a quote...all the way back to 2004!) -
KINGS ISLAND TRIAL updates and discussion

I would pay to see this happen in court...Mr. Siebert, in your own words could you please describe Son of Beast for us...."Son of Beast is a high speed, turbulent roller coaster....." (I can picture some people in the courtroom whispering, "That's HIM, that's the voice!") -
A very good Trip Report...especially for being your first! (I never get tired of Haunt photos...and you took some great ones.)

If they once again offer the free parking I will renew this year...even if they wouldn't extend that great offer. That is a 100% honest answer...and so is this...what with the park "losing" both Nick and Scooby I think it might be a little tougher year for the park to sell Season Passes next year. What do I base this on? My sister & brother-in-law have been Season Pass holders for the last 7 years...and one of their sons for 2 years. They are SERIOUSLY on the fence whether they are going to buy them for next year...I think they are probably leaning against buying them...but the $69.99 would probably push them over to re-purchase them. In the past we have always felt that we got our money's worth at the $89.99 price...BUT that is when we would make (at least) 3 visits. (We live in Illinois) As I stated, now that there will be no Nick OR Scooby, my sister has already been researching her other options. It makes me sad to think that I probably will not be seeing the park quite as much next year as I usually do. (It's not the same going alone.)

Ty, Ty, Ty… I hope that your post is not representative of how well you are doing in math class…because I think your average is way off…at least if my family is “average”. Just as you can’t eat just one Lays potato chip, a kid can not play just one…or even two games. I think that once a child sees the games you are looking at playing a minimum of 4-5 games…and with the prices that hamoperator posted that average is more likely in the $5.00-$6.00 range. If his prices are correct there are really only two 50 cent games (“Screaming Rings” & “Stuff The Scarecrow“)…I do not count the “Monster Muffin” game because that is 50 cents a BALL…and like I said, you know a kid is not going to want to stop after throwing one ball. With ”Tin Man Tragedy”, “Pumpkin Bash” and ”Sticky Fingers” each being $1.00 and “Halloween Duck Hunt” and “Terror Tower” being $2.00 each it will add up pretty quickly…certainly more than $1.50. I also think that the higher priced games have the “better” prizes…and we all know how that draws a child’s attention! I may be wrong, but I can’t picture a young Ty telling his parents “Oh, no thank you mother…I’ve played two games…I really couldn’t play another if I tried”. Now I know what you’re probably thinking…who’s the parent here, that’s true…but it is also true that people are coming to the park for a good time…and when you see your child having a good time you can get caught up in the moment and spend more money than you might have planned. With all that said, do I personally think it’s a rip-off charging for these games…NO WAY. I was TOTALLY amazed last year when they were free…I am just pointing out that if a parent does wander over towards the game area they are probably going to spend quite a bit of money…but I applaud the park for seemingly keeping them in one area where they can be avoided if a family is on a budget.

No problem, but no thanks are necessary, it was my pleasure. (These are the type of fun exchanges you can have when 2 sarcastic people meet.)
-
Thanks for sharing the photos...I enjoy the angles of the shots you are coming up with.

^I thought you said you were over it! (I am just kidding.) I think you have a legitimate complaint...if they are going to hype the mobile service they should stay on top of it.

They certainly did ok when they sent out those robo-calls to attempt to sell you a Season Pass!

If KI sold the Nick decor?
standbyme replied to TylerRider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If money weren't an object...and I could have any item, I would choose Patrick's costume...he has always been my favorite NICK character running around. And now for my Snoopy slam...THAT is still one of the things that bugs me about The Peanuts coming...ALL of the Nick costumes are top of the line...certainly "Disney" quality...Jimmy Neutron is really nice, and Diego is a masterpiece....whoever designed him should be proud of their work. As I have said before, Snoopy's costume may be good...but as for the photos I have seen of "the gang"...I have seen better costumes at our local costume shop. -

This whole subject was discussed when it first happened...now where did that thread go? -
Thanks for all the photos! I have noticed that there have been very few photo Haunt trip reports compared to previous years*...I miss them. Thanks again! *Which makes me wonder why...are we KIC Members not as thrilled this year...or just to "lazy" to post the trip reports?

Disney World tilt shifted

Shaggy, Thanks for posting this link...it was a lot of fun to watch. -
I have not been to The Haunt this year yet...so I can not answer your question...but here's a picture if it helps jog anyone's memory.

Everything loooks like a lot of fun...my Nephew is going to love seeing that turtle! My only complaint...and yes you knew there had to be at least one...I wish they wouldn't put the HB characters in those "costumes"...I would rather have pictures without them. Speaking of that...my family is hoping to get one last group shot with Scooby Doo this trip...does anyone know if he is still at the Meet & Greet...and is he without a Halloween costume? P.S. I never knew Bam Bam had such a six pack!

Maybe we are all in the presence of future "greatness" ala Typhoid Mary...our very own "Flu Gator"...the man who once infected thousands of people with the flu over a period of one weekend! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Mallon

Not at all...I think they look like cheaply made giant bobble-heads!

If it's any consolation I have known from the beginning what you were trying to get across...I am sorry that I didn't post sooner...but I didn't think it would go on this long. I also saw the "wow" as not a nice thing to say...I am surprised that no one else seemed to. (I am not trying to prolong this discussion...but sometimes it's nice to know that you are not alone.)
