I have NEVER even made a guess on this site whether I do or don't think Cedar Fair will re-open Son of Beast...and I never will...you wanna know why...because after learning that Cedar Fair was "wise" enough to remove Scooby Doo from the park I say there is no way of guessing what they might do next...who knows, they may be in the planning stages of turning SOB into the largest indoor coaster as we speak. At this point in time you could tell me any far-fetched rumor and I would always think to myself "That doesn't make any sense at all...they wouldn't do that...oh wait...they did ditch Scooby Doo".

Could any of you stop the message? It called me at work...my boss answered and immediatly hung up...I had to call a customer and picked up the phone and the message was still going...I kept hanging the phone up and picking it back up trying to get it to disconnect...but it wouldn't until it completely finished.

This may be considered a “cop out” answer…but if I did indeed get the call that I was in charge of Halloween Haunt I know what I would do…I would simply delegate authority. The first thing I would do is hire TombraiderTY…why, because he appears to be the kind of person that the park can’t seem to find…or at least enough of. He has an obvious love of the park and a respect for it’s history…I know that I could trust him not to harm the park’s image. (Put in your own derogatory comment here.) Even though he does not (yet) work for the park, I have seen him go to the trouble of typing up massive ideas on either how to re-work an existing ride to improve it or what kind of an addition the park could use…and the majority of them are feasible....although every now and then I would probably have to say things like “Whattaya think I am…made of money"!

^I have not been this year...yet...but by the sound of it, it is pretty much like last year...so I would say that even if they didn't play any games the kids will have fun.

And judging by your avatar you are not biased at all. (But I agree with you 100%)

alluna, Thanks for the more detailed description...and honest. I was afraid that it was what your photos made it seem. I have been to the previous 2 years. The first year was "class central" on the decorations...last year was pretty much just bloody sheets everywhere. If it is like the last 2 years they just line up everyone in one group and take them to the haunt.

Thanks for posting...and some very nice photos. Could you elaborate on the Fright Feast a little more...I see the 2 photos that you posted...I was curious, was the area that you got your food themed very well this year? Were there coffins...were the servers dressed up? I usually do the Feast just to say that I tried everything Haunt has to offer...but I am hoping it is better than it looks in your photos.

Another TV Show to search out is The Partridge Family "I Left My Heart in Cincinnati" episode...overall it is not a very good episode...not nearly as much fun as The Brady Bunch...but the episode starts with a STUNNING shot of the park. There are also some good shots of the early characters. It is available on DVD.

Snakepit, What did hamoperator do to you that he deserves your kind of replys? They seem pretty harsh...especially since if you change his "everything" to "all the games" his post is accurate and helpful. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes...just like you...as witnessed by this quote: Obviously YOU are not near the games or you would see people opening their wallets. Last year the games were all free...so this is a big change. Another big change is the Starburst candy at ALL of the stops...last year you received a varity of different items. To paraphrase one of your quotes...let's make sure we have all the facts before we blast a fellow poster.

^I really don't know what to say. I would appreciate when your wife gets back she fills you in on how many free activities were over there just so that I know what to expect when my family and I go in a couple of weeks. Thanks in advance, J.D.

I can not answer for all of us "anti-skeletons", but it appeared to me that the vast majority of us really only had a problem with the "means of death" ones...but I will say that as for the Farrah one, I think it is too soon...next year would have suited me better. I have been fortunate and have only lost one really close relative, my mother...you will find that at the beginning it is hard to laugh at anything connected to that person, over time that goes away and you can joke about things that originally you wouldn't have thought possible...but keep in mind, I still do not mean insulting things...just funny things that the person either did or that you think they would say in a paticular situation. Until you go through a "close" death you can not understand what it is like...even though you think you can. (Sorry if this post turned out depressing! )

I am hoping that they go to 60-75% off on the Scooby stuff by the time I get there...some of that stuff seems so overpriced that even with the 50% off I can get it cheaper on ebay...shipping included.

Thanks for the report...the haunt trip reports are always my favorite. (By the way, did the Nick store have any merchandise...or has it been wiped out and turned into a season pass renewal center for the time being?)

That's what I find interesting about the haunt trip reports...they vary SO much person to person...you knocked things that other people praised and vice-versa...I guess haunt depends not only on your own personal tastes but the time you go through a paticular haunt. Thanks for the report!

I dug up this photo I took of Shaggy back in 2003. I thought he looked good. ( A LOT better than the Mystery Inc. gang at Howl-O-Fest last year...Daphne & Shaggy's wigs were pretty bad.)
