After looking at those photos I think he could have been standing right next to me and I wouldn't have realized who it was! -
New Kids on the Block Member Rides Diamondback

I can't say as I am a NKOTB fan...but I thought he was excellent in "Band Of Brothers". (And creepy in "The Sixth Sense".) -
Very good video...I couldn't believe how many different angles that you came up with!

Thanks for sharing...a very interesting trip report, everything looks so quaint. (Except for the Tide umbrella!)
-
^VERY funny!

Obviously I like the rides...but honestly they have become almost secondary to me...except for the enjoyment it brings me watching my family on them...I like the “nostalgia” of having our National Anthem played in the mornings… I like coming through the gates and seeing the characters greeting everyone…I like the fountain, it's irreplaceable…I like sitting underneath the shade trees by the fountain…I like that the train engineers will try and time the train so that everyone on board can see Diamondback coming down the hill…I like the ride operators who have smiles on their faces because they are just as happy to be there as the guests are…I like the lemonade at Subway…I like the photo op area with Scooby Doo…I like the Gold Pass Meal Deal at the picnic ground…I even like the food there…I like standing on the bridge and getting soaked at Congo Falls…I like the new Rivertown cobblestone walkways…I like the new refill cups…I like the ride operators at White Water Canyon waving to the train passengers…I like feeding the fish at Outer Hanks…I like that the park has special events for enthusiasts like us…I like that Wings is no longer called Wings…I like the new snow/glitter globe with the park rides in it…I LOVE that there are sites that I can talk about Kings Island…because my family is sick of hearing about it!

Nice post...and I agree with almost 100% of what you said...I do think that the park needs criticism/constructive criticism but there does seem to be more negativity lately than I can remember in a long time...and we're not even in the off-season yet! (That is when I am used to seeing threads like this.) But, I will say that yes, I AM guilty of reading everyone's comments though...for some reason I can't help myself.
-
^It would still technically be assigned seating wouldn't it? They just "assign" you the seat(s) that you asked if you could have.
-
I found the short in your report...but I couldn't find anything sweet. Sorry the day didn't work out for you...if it's any consolation, I was also screwed by the UFCW many many years ago!
-
^In my opinion, 5 minutes in "fireworks time" is a REALLY long time...I would think that if they added 5 minutes you should consider yourself lucky.
-
They do assign seats on Diamondback most of the time, but it will be no problem at all to not get near the front if you just tell the seat assigner your situation.

I must have missed something...I just re-read this entire thread and I can only find (besides Giga's & yours) 3 comments about your attire...Avatar's, Errosarrow's and just now mine...and to be honest the first 2 DO come off as humor...and I would also say that mine is probably the worst of the 3...and I don't even consider mine insulting, just my observation. Were there rude comments in other threads that I missed?
-
Avatar said it was a joke...but if we are going for honesty here, I just barely got to meet Justin at CWW...and he was definately a very nice guy...and I think the photo of him in the pink wig is hilarious...but I would not want to see a bunch of guys running around the park like that on a regular basis...it would ruin the atmosphere of the park.
-
I DO wish more people would remember that it is a family park and dress accordingly...but then again there are things that Cedar Fair does that makes me think that even they forget that it's supposed to be a family park.
-
(Maybe because they would have to pay some employees to do that...but guests will do it for free.)
-
I am all for groups like The Jonas Brothers, Naked Brothers Band etc...They are not meant to be enjoyed by adults, they are just "pretty safe" music that little kids can enjoy. I work in a music store...you have no idea how disgusted I get when a parent will buy their kids explicit music...I give them a friendly heads-up about how bad something is and I can't count how many times I have heard "Well, they've already heard it at their friend's house anyway.", "He/she knows not to say the bad words" or "You can't protect them forever"... If anyone knows any of Insane Clown Posse's songs...how would you like your 10 year old "singing" those...we have one customer who's kid collects them all...I could go on, but I won't.

A VERY good trip report...I REALLY have to make it to HW sometime. That HAS to take awhile to getting used to...I can picture being able to have fun with that fact with your co-workers...by not telling them her age you could keep telling stories about what she did recently..."Oh, she was out playing in the mud"..."She thinks The Jonas Brothers are hot"...they would think she was a nut-case!

Nice Trip Report...thanks for sharing!

Welcome back...to whatever your old screen name was! Nice trip report...an impressive "first" post.

Even though I only make it to the park a few times a year I have seen the gentleman that you are talking about about 3 times in the past. I remember the first time I saw him I was surprised that he was getting on the ride...I believe it was Delirium...but after the ride was over I could tell that he was a regular because of how the ride-op was treating him...like an old friend that she saw often...it was really nice. Thanks to everyone that posted the man's story, it was very interesting.

Another fun Trip Report to read...I like that yours always have "personality"! I'm sorry that your trip was cut short...and on that subject/drinking, i'm beginning to get a better idea why you "guys" always look like you're so happy in your photos!

Presenting the "glass half full" outlook: ...and the "glass half empty"
-
I can picture it now...over in Water Works they could of had rafts shaped like the lifeless body of Robert Mitchum for the kids to use in Lazy River.

The internet will never be perfect until they can figure out how to get sarcasm to come across...sarcastically.

Glad to hear you finally made it to the park. I'm also glad you had a good time!
