  1. "Ah youth" Sam The Talking Snowman I admire your enthusiasm. (Hopefully you will start getting those voice mails you want so badly!)
  2. Nice Trip Report! I REALLY like your Diamondback fireworks shot...the timing is perfect...I also like how it has a Godfather/sepia tone to it.
  3. Thanks for the trip report...your photo of the fountain is great!
  4. I hope they NEVER do that...I love those tunnels. I also miss the gum tree that was in the WWC line years (and years) ago. I never added to it...but I always got a kick out of seeing it. My theory is that if you let the public have a certain area to "express themselves" they will hopefully leave the rest of it alone.
  5. I this case I blame myself...I am ashamed that I let you get me with one of your patented answers...I should know better.
  6. HTCO, Thanks for posting this story...it IS nice to know that the op cared enough to do that. <(And I just noticed that this is/was my Anti-Christ post!)
  7. I am glad to say that I have never had anything like that happen to me...I think it is good that you didn't let it affect your good time. (Am I right in guessing that you ended up in Festhaus' bathroom to wash it off?)
  8. So who do I blame for me wasting my time reading this article...Smart Money or The Interpreter?!
  9. You summed up my thoughts exactly. I hate line jumping...but I just try to overlook it for 2 reasons...Number 1: In the grand scheme of things I figure that one or two extra people in front of me is not that big of a deal...and Number 2: After witnessing a line jumper confrontation a few years ago where it looked like a knife was about to be pulled out, it made me realize that it REALLY wasn't worth the possible consequences.
  10. ^I agree IF they are with someone else...but I wouldn't really want a 1 year old to ride alone.
  11. (I had this typed out before Avatar posted…and by God I’m still gonna post it!) Like Avatar said, there is a little more than what some people are saying, here is everything…I think: Lazytown Sportacopters (Get there early…if the line is long it is not worth the wait.) Nick-O-Round (The Nick Universe carousel) La Adventura de Azul Swiper’s Sweepers (Which may be a little too rough for some children.) SpongeBob’s Bikini Bottom Bash (The walk thru water maze.) Timmy’s Air Tours (One of my Nephew’s favorites.) Wild Thornberrys River Adventure (If your child can stand on his/her own they are allowed to ride this…but I wouldn’t really recommend it…it IS scary for the little ones.) Eiffel Tower Grand Carousel Kings Island Railroad (Always a favorite of children of all ages.) Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle You may have to ride some things over and over…but kids usually want to anyway. Have fun!
  12. Ty, Congratulations. I think it is VERY cool that you won...and I for one am not surprised in the least. See ya, J.D.
  13. Judging by how "fast" details were realeased for the actual event, I am guessing that the winner will be announced at next years event!
  14. That's interesting...I am in Illinois and my family always just calls it "The 500". In my youth my family always went to the time trials every year...but I have only been to 1 race...I would rather watch the race on TV, but just listening to the cars and Tom Carnegie's voice over the P.A. made the time trials worth while. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFEVCwteJoo
  15. As Johnny Carson might say "I was not aware of that"...but, it's kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy post.
  16. Thanks for the trip report...and it was also very nice to finally meet you...I had fun talking to you! See ya, J.D. P.S. Your night-time shot of Diamondback's splashdown turned out really pretty!
  17. You wanna hear irony...the worst comment I overheard at CWW was from a member of this site...the member was telling some non-members that he/she only liked a couple of rides in the whole park!
  18. ^I know "the list" is made up for fun, and no, I am not an Ace member...but I must admit that I find it very unfair to lump a whole group of people together...especially with such unkind generalizations...just as on this board not everyone is the same, neither are Acers. In my (few) years of attending these park events I have never personally met one that wasn't nice. At CWW I rode with one from Conneticut & one from Philadelphia...I couldn't have asked for anyone nicer to talk with. I even got a laugh out of both of them with the same line...when I asked them which organization that they were with, and after they said Ace...I said "OH, so you're one of THOSE!"...they both laughed really hard. When one of them asked who I was with...and after replying "a Kings Island fansite", I liked one of their comments...he said "Well, you're very lucky, you have a nice park here". (And for the record, out of the all of the things on "the list", the only thing that either of them "qualified" for was that they were probably over 40.) Sorry if this comes off as preachy...but I think it makes this board look bad if no one defends the Ace members...it makes it look like we all agree that they are a bunch of losers...and I think that is far from the case.
  19. Do I like Son of Beast? No. Do I want them to tear it down? No. Even if it were closed I wouldn't want it tore down...it is an amazing structure just to look at. And to specifically answer the topics original question "Has anyone else noticed that SOB seems to be losing popularity?"...I can honestly say that it is JUST as popular with me today as the first time I rode it!
  20. ^That was a nice gesture of the park to do. How can you tell us "after he busted his nose"...but not tell us what happened?! (That's almost like saying "But, it was ok...he lived!") I'll be awaiting the details...
  21. ^You crashed my computer today...but now everything's good! Nice trip report!
  22. This is the first time I think I have lost respect for you...you should know better!
  23. This is my favorite park shirt.
  24. Zach, It was nice seeing you again at the event! As always your pictures are amazing. I would say my 3 favorites are "Sheer Terror", "All Smiles" (I like how you shot it through the fence) and "Interesting Transistion" (You have that shot compositioned just right.) I REALLY think that you will wander across your "Sheer Terror" photo on the internet for years to come on different sites...so you better get your name on it! I'm looking forward to the next batch of photos...assuming i'm not in any of them. See ya, J.D.
