  1. I don't have a problem with using a cup from the same year at a different park. I would imagine CF wouldn't either. Consider a cheap refill as a benefit for visiting multiple CF parks in a year. However, the old cups and non-CF cups are definitely wrong.
  2. I would imagine they can control the lift speed. Most of their hypers could probably go faster up the lift, but don't due to blocking and intervals.
  3. Well, CW gets 28 million. I'd say KI will be lucky to get 8.
  4. Yup that was pretty much the case yesterday when I was there. The associate was pretty much just monitoring the flow of people.
  5. I'm of the opinion that the park does not have to do something for their 40th anniversary, but doing nothing much is a waste of marketing potential. Being only 40 years old, there are lots of people in the market of KI that went there as kids when it opened in the 70's. These are the same people who now have families and can decide to go to KI or somewhere else. By the time the park is 50 or 60 years old, many of those original season folks will not longer be a part of KI's target audience.
  6. The Eiffel Tower is usually a great place to get any kind of pictures you would want.
  7. You might be right. I have thought of several jokes that I have resisted from posting hehe. I'm going to the park again next week. I have not been there since The Beast seat assignment began. I'll be very interested to see what things look like next week, especially since the crowds will likely be reduced along with the operating hours.
  8. I really think they need to add something that is going to have some "people drawing" power for next season. I don't dislike the Starlight Experience, WindSeeker, or the Peanuts' retheme, but none of those things are major draws for people in my opinion. I'm not saying it has to be a coaster. Delirium and Tomb Raider were great when they debuted because they were unique attractions. A Screamin' Swing could work, but they need to do more than just slap down a standard installation like at other parks. Otherwise... Person A: "It's Kings Island's 40th anniversary this year!" Person B: "Yeah and they haven't done anything noteworthy since Diamondback in 2009."
  9. Hehe, probably someone who really had to pee while waiting for Firehawk.
  10. Wildebeest at Holiday World uses LIMs. Mamooth will next year as well.
  11. I wonder if this guy is going to write a CP speculation article every week.
  12. Oh yeah, I forgot about the Flight of Fear darkness groping. I wonder what year that happened? It must have happened a few times for them to decide to shut that part off.
  13. Did anybody else know that RaptorGuy was associated with ACE?
  14. Huh? Bracing your feet helps your head?
  15. What a bogus article. He doesn't even have any sources. He just surfed around the web and then wrote an article on what he found. Anyone could do that.
  16. Absolutely. I am not a fan of assigned seating. I am a huge fan of station flood control. However, you usually don't see it because it requires an extra worker to sit in the queue.
  17. I would be shocked. I don't think KI would invest that much money into a single slide. Especially since they haven't spent much of anything on BB since 2004.
  18. Well, it is progress. It should open within another week I would say.
  19. I kinda read into it the other way. That is to say, that the announcement will not be about SOB because he specifically says that its status is unknown. Personally, I think they are still waiting to see about the success and longevity of both the Timberliner trains and the Iron Horse treatment of Texas Giant.
  20. Yeah, even if they did announce today that it was going to reopen, it would likely take more time than is left in the season just to get it ready.
  21. If you have ridden a lot of B&M coasters, you might notice that they do tend to develop a few rough spots in areas over time. However, this really is not significant in making the ride "rough", it just seems a bit more rough than you might remember when it opened. Also, the current state of wheels can make a big difference. If you happen to ride just before they change some wheels, you might have a much rougher than normal ride.
  22. Can't we just get a brown B&M invert and call it Son of Beast? (goes to email Lance)
  23. 400 FastLane people? That's $20K! I would think the percentage would be a bit lower. I guess we will see by monitoring how many people we see running around with wristbands.
  24. All Huss Giant Frisbee's are down for one month per season. It's pretty much standard operation for those rides.
  25. They already do. It's called a VIP tour and it costs $250 per person. But that is far too pricey for the average person, which is why they now have a $50 version for certain rides at certain times. I really don't think that it will be a significant impact on the current wait times. Remember that most coasters handle between 16-32 people per train. How many FastLane people do you really think there will be per hour? Maybe you'll have to wait 1-3 extra cycles?
