Note that the Timberliners were originally supposed to go on The Voyage in 2010. However, when it became apparent that they wouldn't be ready, Holiday World had already sold one of the PTC trains. So they modified Raven's second train and ran it on Voyage instead. Then after more issues last year, they announced that they would be delayed until 2012. At this point, it really is anybody's guess when or if they will ever run.

Hmm, no new for 2012 attractions seem to match that description. -
Ultimate Ride Warrior 2012 Checklist 1. Take a ride on Son of Beast 2. Get arrested for trespassing

Yeah, the RWW thing is still a big disappointment to me. I think KI said they were going to make it different somehow in 2010...and apparently different means "nothing at all". The format did need some tweaking, and they probably should have added a fee. If you are trying to make an event like Coastermania, it is not going to happen in just one year.

I thought with any park that all decisions were that way. Dinosaurs Alive! at Cedar Point seems to prove it.

Site Traffic?
Pagoda Gift Shop replied to Coney Islander's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
This site has been around for a long time now. People's lives and interests change over time. I think the bigger question this thread poses is: What is the future for KIC? Many have mentioned positive memories of meeting friends on the site, having events and get togethers, etc. But most websites do take work. You have to maintain information and software to keep them going or they will die sooner than later. I agree that money should not be a factor. If the admins can make money to pay for the site, I say go for it, whether that's through ads or membership. It costs something to run a website so I have no problem with that aspect of things. (censorship on the other hand...) If I might offer one suggestion, look at pointbuzz. They decided that having content other than forums and photos was not worth their time. So they cut it down to just the basics. I think I would be a big fan of that, especially if it meant the forums were able to be a little more customized with a KI theme. -
This sounds a lot like the longterm discussion over Chaos at Cedar Point before it was finally removed. It was always safe, but it cost a lot to maintain and eventually wasn't worth that cost. I would not say that Chaos, or The Crypt, are/were fan favorites.

Realistic Off-Season Improvement Ideas
Pagoda Gift Shop replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
Change Rivertown Junction Dining Hall into a table service restaurant. Backyard BBQ is a more suitable venue for All-You-Can-Eat anyway. Edit: I thought of another thing. Stop trying to charge 6.29 for fries. I'm not buying those unless they are at least $2 less. Even at an amusement park they are still just fried potatoes. -
Well, maybe if you didn't eat food *in* the park. Hehe.

SOB will get plenty of snow rehab this winter.

I'm guessing the cost per rider on The Crypt has gone above the acceptable amount.

Half Pint Brawlers' Taser Match Canceled
Pagoda Gift Shop replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Maybe they can get one of those guns that shoots beanbags or whatever. -
I think this post is evidence of what the park has given the long time/hardcore fans to be excited about since Diamondback. I mean, who's shocked that we don't have a huge thread discussing WindSeeker?

Half Pint Brawlers' Taser Match Canceled
Pagoda Gift Shop replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I think it would be interesting just to see them do something like strap match. Matches with blood always seem a little too over the top. -
Yeah, I'm sure KI is announcing the removal of a major ride using a Halloween Haunt prop. </sarcasm>

Limitations of Peanuts Franchise
Pagoda Gift Shop replied to Leland Wykoff's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
You might be right, but I think we will have to evaluate this for a long time to be certain. KI had the Nick license for a while. The real question is whether it will be worth it for Mall of America when Nick comes and says they want an additional 10 million to keep the license, because they know that it is profitable for them.- 11 replies

Don't like fast lane? Here's what to do:
Pagoda Gift Shop replied to homestar92's topic in Kings Island
I'm going with the more effective strategy of not buying Fast Lane...ever. -
Wouldn't it be more logical to say it could use more trees?

I wouldn't take anything to be 100%, especially since the guy who said it will no longer work for the company starting in January.

Please let this be the *only* coaster wish list thread of this offseason.

What new 2012 attractions are you most excited for?
Pagoda Gift Shop replied to McSalsa's topic in KI Polls
Rumor has it the Dollywood Wingrider will be identical. -
Good point about possibly closing CGA in the future, GYK. There are many rides that I would take at KI from that park. Flight Deck would be the top of the list, and the best thing is that they would have to give it a better name! I wonder if there is any real possibility that they would remove the "box" from The Crypt. I can't imagine it is very likely. They probably use it for storage during the winter. The ride would likely need to be disassembled in order to take the building down anyway.
