I don't understand why people are saying "been there, done that" about Italian Job. This ride is nothing like Test Track at Epcot....it is a totally different type of ride. Epcot's Test track is more like a dark ride with one high speed section. Italian Job: Stunt Track is a heavily themed rollercoaster (read that again ROLLERCOASTER)......I don't understand why people are making a comparision......that and I don't understand why they are complaining we are getting a coaster, something that everyone has been asking for for years.
-
If I remember correctly the Italian Job coaster will have 2 complete LIM launches and 1 LIM boost. The launches will be at the start and after the special effects section, and I forget where the boost is.....but I think it was somewhere right before the "park" section.
-
They made that mistake because there is another Vortex ride at (Carowinds??) Which is a B&M Standup coaster. This was the beginning of the "let's use the same name and logo" era of theme parks.
-
Yeah and the very end of the movie would be you almost crashing into the licence plate of the car. Those were always fun movie to watch. I also remember when the Congo exhibit was in that building, and the first run of the Star Trek exhibit also. As for old shows in the park nothing can beat the old quality of Celebration, Fantasy, and Escapades (All at the PT/known then as the American Heritage Music Hall).....ahhh those were the good old days, too bad Paramount had to come in and downsize the entertainment.

We have told you where the characters are........gone. They do not and will not walk around in the park. Get over it.
-
Boo-Hoo.....I think you really need to get over this thing. The HB characters are not going to walk in the park again, and your "petition" can't change that fact. PKI does not have the complete call on what characters are used in the park, it all comes down to who pays the money and the bills. Nickelodeon pays to have their characters used in the park and to have them as a highlight of the area. The park does not get any money for the HB costumes, unless a company pays to have them walk at their picnic or corporate event. That is the bottom line.

Actually none of this really factors into the reason that you did see any characters out on the streets, the simple answer is the fact that all of the parks characters are now resticted to the use of the Nick Meet and Greet at the old Nickelodeon theater. That is where you will find all of the Nick characters, the only other character that the park uses on a daily basis is Scooby Doo and his meet and greet is located right next to the ride, just outside the entrance to the old Enchanted Theater. We still use a few of the old HB characters, but they only walk in the picnic groves for corporate events or promotional deals.

You would think that the Beach would be a little bit more respectful to their local competition. Just think about all the years that they used Kings Island as a good thing on their ads. "Just across from the island....oh...the island"

Man you really are a groupie........anyways, the entertainment department does not normally repeat the main stage shows 2 years in a row, but I would expect to see another Pop show at the Showplace next year, similar to Pop Fusion, Vibe, and Tuned In. They may keep the name Tuned In since they are going for the "Hollywood" theme, but the show will be changed/updated with new songs.
-
There is a new attraction in the works for this years FearFest. The current theme for the attraction is indeed Sleepy Hollow, however I do not know if this will be the final theme or not, considering it is the 4th name/theme for this new attraction.

I am not too sure where you got your rumors from but I can tell you this much for SURE: 1) The parade will be returning next year, It will be bigger, and "better" Plus it will be around for an additional 2 weeks. 2) Magic of the Movies is NOT returning to our park next year. We have dropped the contract with the company that made the show and we will not be getting the renovation of it next year. 3) Karaoke (StarSearch) will return next year.....it is too popular with the people and costs next-to-nothing to run it, Why would they cut it???? 4) I "think" that we will see more of the hollywood theming on I-street next year.....but then again I said that about this year as well. 5) I don't foresee FearFest ending this year.....but It may be scaled down a little bit next year if Winterfest makes a return.
-
Trust me when I say I know......I can't say what my position is at the park, or anything like that....but trust me. Also PKI has a very good entertainment staff on hand and they Know what the are doing, there are not putting anyone into any type of risk by re-modeling the haunted attractions. As for this year, YES there will be a brand new attraction added to FearFest, YES there will be more stuff out in the pumpkin Patch for the kids, YES there will be more atmospheric elements, and YES the creepers will be returning (however there will not be as many as the first year).

HauntGuy........I don't know why you think you know so much about FearFest....because you really don't. Those trailers are not used for storage of houses. Trust me I KNOW! The flats that make up the walls of the houses are stored in a corner of each building that houses an attraction. The walls for HOD are in the building nest to the scrambler, the walls for Crypt are in the Plush Barn.....so on, so on. A lot of the stuff for the trail actually stays out there (unless it could get damaged by the weather. When PKI bought the current FearFest attractions YES there were designed by an outside company, BUT now that we have used them for years PKI has re-designed them and changed them In-House. The current attractions are far different from the originals, we change rooms around, make paths different, add/remove elements, and so-on every year. Maybe other places store there attractions in trailers, but we do not. Usually if someone buys a haunted house and the trailers they use the trailers to build the house in too....but we certainly don't do that. As for the question about the original Houses from the first year of FearFest. Those houses were from the company that does Madison SCARE Gardens in NY, they rented the houses to PKI for use that first year, after that Paramount thought it was a great idea and decided to transfer those to PKD and get new houses for PKI.

I'm glad to see that you really enjoyed the parade, there is a LOT of hard work put into it and it definatly shows. Just so everyone is aware the parade starts at FOF EVERYDAY!!! It does not switch the route every other day. The floats are moved back from the end to the beginning every night after the park closes. This is just one of the many extra things that goes into making this parade a great guest experience. I too hope that Paramount likes the final product and I can say that I definatly think you will see this become a traditional thing for the park.

Tomorrow, Tue. July 13th the park will be releasing an artist renedering in the Media Center of pki.com. I have to recommend that everyone go see it. The sign is going to be very nice and the drawing is very well done. I has a touch of the old sign as well as the look of the famous Paramount Studio Gates in Hollywood.

You are correct the waterfall effect did not go either night. There was actually quite a few things that were cut out of the show on Sun. night due to the high winds. They actually set up test shells from the back sight every 15 minutes after 9:00 and every 5 minutes after 9:45 to test how the wind was effecting the shells. Around 9:45 there were winds of 20+ MPH crossing the park which made the call to pull the plug on some of the tower effects. (Hense the minute or so of nothing in the middle of the show). Everything that was cut was done so for the saftey of the guests and the surrounding park attractions, the "fallout" from the waterfall and other effects could have very well shifted towards the guests and other areas if they would have gone off. But I think it was a very good desison by the park to go ahead and do the show instead of tring to postpone it until the wind died down.

I loved when Jeff said that they were going to show a special preview video of the new attraction during The Beast documentary presentation. It was really funny to hear everyone go "YES....oh...no........." Anyways, I know how Jeff says that his favorite rumors are about how we are moving the tiques....but I don't remeber him ever saying that they weren't be removed..........
-
Well since it was only a $5 cover charge the park has refunded the money to everyone who had come up with a wristband or ticket.
-
Yeah that was too bad.....although there wasn't too many tickets sold anyways. As for a re-scheduled event I would have to say that I doubt it will happen. But there are 2 more nights of Xtended play scheduled, so maybe they can get a tag-team night in and team D.J. Scribble up with 50cents D.J.
-
You're right the lightning did add a whole new level to last years nights of fire show. But as for the fireworks themselves there were quite a few problems. Mostly becuase the "special" stuff on the tower was not made to withstand the amount of rain we experienced. So most of the pinwheel effects did not work and some of the candles off the sides didn't go either.

I'm not too sure how easy it is going to be for employes to "sneek" into this one. I have heard the possiblities of wristbands being assigned to those who have paid their extra admission.....but then again it is only $5 (i think.....)

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Wow these newbes have got to learn how to read.......I know that my post could not have been that confusing. and for another update the construction trailer that I saw out there yesterday is no longer there....so I think that it may be a movable office/truck that they bring to the site. But the crane is still there along with what appears to be a stack of materials.

The only additional info that I have is that the event will take place mainly in Action Zone + Bubba Gumps. Also the celebrity D.J.s include D.J. Scribble from M.T.V.; 50cent's D.J.; Eminem's D.J. and another who I forget. Plus there is supposed to be a battle of local D.J.s as well.
