Still go.....you could even just type up a quick list of things you have done, if youve done anything before. It wont be a big deal that you dont have a resume, you will still be able to do the interview and everything.

And what would stop them from doing a "turnover" attraction, where it is for the family during the day and regular haunt at night. I know that idea has been talked about before in regards to some attractions, and has been done at other parks.
-
LOL......because as a 18 yr. old they are not required to give you the breaks that they have to give all the other people on the crew. They are most likely happy because they know that now they have a person who can work all day without having to take a break.

Kings Dominion Fact Sheet
Shman replied to WooferBearATL's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Are you sure it's out of question ;-) And that is just one of the many reasons why they moved it this year, so that they wouldnt have to take it down. And you can thank Cedar Fair for that one.....they do that with a lot of their halloween stuff. It's too bad to......Enchanted Theatre was a nice childrens theatre in its day. -
Kings Dominion Fact Sheet

DING DING......thats what I have been saying all along on this board. We are going to see a vast improvement in the entertainment offerings at the park this year. Not to the extent it use to be way back when.....but at least theres going to be 5 shows at the park this year instead of just 2. It depends what park. Kings Island and most regional/seasonal theme parks the answer would be no. But Disney performers do earn equity points. No, they wont. Not since the Circus haunted house was moved there and is still up. -
Kings Dominion Fact Sheet

I see some very familiar pieces of information on that sheet that fit into some of our unannounced 2007 plans. -
Yeah.....as I said on the original thread about the ice show, this will not have Snoopy in it. Although.....there may be another character in it, on that people would be very happy to see. As for the rest of Entertainment.....I think people are going to be pleased with the improvements this year, its the beginning of an upswing.

I still say they need to. But not in the form of the one they had in Paramount Theater. But rather as part of a major night show to take place on International Street every night. A show that would included: 1) Laser images projected onto the tower (via a screen around the 50 foot level that would dissapear during the day) 2) Major Fireworks (including close proximity fireworks similar to the ones on the first night of NOF this past year off the rooftops on I-Street, and on the tower) 3) The fountains being used as a "dancing water" show, similar to the Bellagio Fountain Show, or the fountain at Epcot. 4) A special soundtrack written specifically for the show. 5) Specialty lighting down I-Street.

If that is in reference to me I think you better check out who you are talking about. There are many people one this site who know me and will back up the fact that the information I have provided in the years that I have been on both this site and the old PKIU have been accurate and factual.

You know.....I stayed out of this thread for a long time. But I do have to say, after reading through all the earlier pages, that you all are going to have some serious appoligizing to do after they announce this coaster's name. Thats all I'm going to say......and yes, I do know for a fact what it will be called.

I can tell you this much......although originally slated to be at KI for the entire summer this year, the parade will not be returning to KI for the summer of 2007. However KI will be recieving a fairly nice entertainment package for this summer.

The ice show stage was/will be a different deck than what is currently on the stage at the Paramount Theater. I think that essentially what they have done before is just build a basic ice rink on top of the existing stage floor with some protection and equipment in between the two.

The launch area is down the access road from FOF. It is not in the construction zone. I don't think we have anything to worry about.

Disney Parks "big" announcement today at 1 pm
Shman replied to KIfan73's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Maybe I just missed this.....but I dont remember hearing about any "major setbacks" to the sub project. What happened? -
Can we please not make this thread into yet another argument that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. The topic of this thread is the virtual announcement of a new Ice Show at Kings Island......even though it wasn't "officially" announced, I think that them sending out information about seeking skaters is enough of one to finally talk about it.
-
The ice show will be in the Paramount Theatre, not in the festhaus. The current state of the Festhaus does not allow for much in the way of entertainment, they removed most of the stage years ago and what is left of the stage is now used for storage. The small circular stage used for Winterfest would be a possiblity for housing a small show in their, but I dont think we will be seeing that soon.

It was not a Fridays......it was suppose to be another "famous" resturant.....lol

And yes....there will be vast improvement to the entertainment department this year. I would like to see if they announce the line up during the 2007 announcement. There are going to be multiple shows throughout the park, the ice show, a live music show, a childrens show, and more.

I can confirm this news as true. In fact I've been wanting to say something about this for awhile....but wasn't sure if it was public yet. I even hinted to it awhile ago in another topic when I said "The return of something I think everyone will enjoy." The show will actually be a little different from the "Snoopy on Ice" shows as CP and KBF. In fact of what I've heard Snoopy will not appear in this show. The Auditions for skaters will be held at Sports Plus on the 22nd of Feb. from 10-12.

Thank you.....that is one of the reason I started it, I wanted a change from all the negative threads that have been around here lately.

I have been reading and posting on the website for a few years now, and was also active on PKIU before the combination, so I have seen the numerous times that we all get caught up in ranting and b*tching about the things that we don’t think Paramount did well, or did right. My question today could be a hard one for some of you, it might make you think for a little bit, and it goes like this: Through the years that Paramount has been at the namesake of Kings Island they have added a lot to the park, both through complete new additions and just general improvements. Today I am asking what, in your opinion, has been a good improvement/addition that Paramount made, which do you feel was the best. We have all read the negatives before, and we have all complained about them removing this ride and that......however I think that the good gets lost in all that. Lets not make this another topic that we complain about the bad, but rather lets think back to the good things they did.

Unfortunately I have heard that the plans that were in place at the end of last season for the IR have fallen through.

I always wear just regular tennis shoes when visiting any park. The thing I can't stand are those stupid wheelie shoes that the teenagers at pre-teens are all wearing now. I was in Disney and they were all over the place. Not only are they highly annoying, but there is also a dangerous factor to the person wearing them and the people around them. I saw a kid run into a baby stroller and almost knock the little baby all the way out because of those shoes.
-
Let me just throw this out there. If all that was going on was a paint job i dont think the park would be shipping the cars off site somewhere. The park has a full paint shop where they can repaint all ride vehicles. My guess is that off-season rehab tests may have indicated something with those cars that needs to be addressed at the manufacturer and can not be completed at the park.

Obviously you all have not had to listen to the numerous guest complaints about having to walk from far out in the parking lot to the front gate. If people can't handle that I can't imagine them being able to walk from GWL front door to the front gate of KI. Now if they did do an exclusive gate over by Top Gun, I could see that working. The only downfall to that might be having to navigate the terrain back there.
