I think that we should just keep in mind that at this point we dont know what is really going on. All we know is what we can see from the public point of view.....there is no inside information that has been released. As far as we know they could have just taken down the structure to make a modification or something.

Sorry to tell you this.....I have never touched photo-shop, and I definatly could not pull off something that good

I hate to say this.....but, after I saw the crane there this afternoon at lunch I just couldnt get it out of my head and I had to do some investigating. I decided to do a little poking around by using the new Great Wolf Lodge to my advantage and I have to tell you. I didnt like what I saw. I looked around from many different view points and I have to say that through the tree line and on the horizon I could not see the steel structure of the loop anymore. I have a picture that I took from the corner of the new Great Wolf Lodge Street where it meets Columbia Rd. back by the old campground area and I think you can see the lack of the structure in it. Anyone who doubts the validity of the picture can go see for themselves....another spot I looked from was in the GWL parking lot over by Top Gun through the trees.

For this entire time I have been convinced that they would never remove the loop on SOB, especially considering the fame it has recieved for that feature. The only reason I could come up with would be for new trains that couldnt handle an inversion....like has been mentioned earlier. But I have thought in my head the whole time....No, PKI wouldn't remove one of the major elements of the ride. However.....today I am forced to wonder about the possibility of this happening, especially since when I drove by the park today at Lunch I noticed a boom crane up and parked right near the vacinity of the loop.

Well I'm sure that they would bring him back.....as in the performer, as he was a truly great performer. But I just have that feeling that PKI is trying to have the same "icon" character idea for Fearfest that Universal does every year, and every year it is a new character. Don't be closed off to the possibilities, they made a good character this year.....they might even make a better one next year.
-
My guess would be that you will not see the undertaker back next year, but that you will see an all new character in that place. The undertaker seemed to me to be the attempt at the main host character similar to how Universal does it.....and patterned after the way they do it i would expect a new character each year.

One of the brake fins became mis-aligned during a cycle one day and when the train passed through the LIMs the train basically ripped itself and the LIM motors apart resulting in MAJOR damage.

Well....that all depends on which site you are talking about. The track and supports from KC are spread out over a couple of different sites. The site behind SOB up on the hill by the greenhouses would be a nice spot for a campground. However, the site behind The Racer is in the middle of the nightly fireworks launch pad and beyond that would be very difficult to get to unless they built an all new access road....I dont think that would be a very good spot for the campground.
-
Thats true....plus Great Wolf even had a sign for the Kings Island Campground on the bottom of their new sign by the traffic light, and they left part of the old campground in-tact behind the resort. However, it magically went away when they cut back the trees to reveal the new sign....Hmmmm

It is my understanding that the orignial site for the Flyer was basically the site that IJ now stands on. If I remember correctly though, they were only going to remove the south set of 'Tiques and the coaster was going to pass over the walkway and over the lake.

I just had to laugh at this signature from Maureen in the other topic: Fits very well ;-)

The statement of the park managers knowing their parks best is complete BULL at best. #1 In that article the Carowinds manager even states that he had no clue where the bathrooms were in his park!!! #2 Come back to PKI and we find another manager transported from a CF park who, coming into the park knew little about how the park operated, he was very use to the smaller park atmosphere and did not know how to handle a lot of the stuff dealing with a larger park.....let alone the fact that CF gave the axe to most of the managers who actually knew what they were doing, while holding onto managers who should have been let go....that still makes NO sense. #3 They arent necessarily always there to support their park managers either....not going into any details, but I know of one major decison that PKI's General Manager wanted to make one operating day in October that Corporate CF would not allow....something that would have saved the park a lot of money in the end.

The park already held auditions in the beginning of November. However, they usually hold a second round sometime in February to fill the remaining positions. The instrumental auditions are basically go in and play something in the style they are looking for, show that you can solo, and they will usually hand you a chart to see if you can follow it/read music.
-
The quick answer to that would be NO....this is not for School of Rock since they are looking for POP musicians. Anyways....we all know that last year was the last for School of Rock. Paramount theatre is going to have something very different inside this year....and youre all going to love it!!! The musicians are being put together for a new show in a different venue.

Ahem.....and one of the best Entertainment teams too......right Ryan??? -
Interesting............. Park News - (11/16/06) Things just got a little more complex this week. The rumors about X-Flight being removed are still going strong and adding to this are photos of a survey company van parked inside the X-Flight area. If that wasn’t odd enough, a quick lookup of the survey company’s website shows they are from the Cincinnati area. You can find these photos over at Geauga Lake Today. Again... this just doesn’t make any sense at all to me if they are really planning to move the coaster to PKI. It would have about the same effect as moving the ride to Cedar Point. Everyone interested in X-Flight has likely already made the trip to Geauga Lake to try it out over the last few years.

I know.....hense why I put that I usually take what they post with a grain of salt. Sometimes they are accurate, but sometimes they couldnt be further from the truth. I was in no way saying that just because they posted it, it was over with. I think running the rumor mill is a great way to spend the off season and it should keep on spinning.

Now....although I usually take what is posted to Screamscape with a grain of salt, here is a notice from todays, news and rumor update:

Im sorry to disagree with you, but as I said in my post....when Paramount Parks Design went into the devolment with Vekoma for this design of coaster they went into with a deal that PP would install these coasters in their parks over the following 5 years and they held an exclusive clause that meant PP were they only company these coasters would be available to. Stealth was always slated to go to PGA, in fact the coaster was designed using that parks layout. You are correct, X-Flight was never purchased to come to PKI, but it was originally being designed for the park. The second set of the flying coaster (X-Flight) was the one slated to come to PKI. When PGA's version was plauged with problems, thats when Paramount backed out, even though the coaster was already being manufactured. On top of that Tim Fischer wasnt even at PKI when they were deciding where to move Stealth.
-
If this was to happen it sure would be a moment of strong irony, considering back when PP co-ventured into the development of the flying coasters with Vekoma they purchased that exclusive deal that would only allow the flying coasters in Paramount Parks for 5 years....X-Flight was actually in the second build of these coasters and was originally going to go to PKI (rumored site was the Italian Job site). Then Stealth had so many problems that PP broke the contract and allowed other parks to buy up the coasters that were already designed and started manufacturing....thats when Six Flags came in and bought up X-Flight for GL, and one other one (I forget which park that was). Although I have to admit....I think this is a stretch, I cant really see Cedar Fair pulling out one of the big coasters at GL, especially when Steel Venom (Superman) is supposedly damaged beyond fesible repair after the accident this summer.

It's common practice in the entertainment business to bring a headshot and a resume with you to any audition.

This was not a permenant change like it was last year. As the reports have said the Conga Line was in effect for maybe 15 mins to cut down the 2 hour line that stretched all the way to the Zepher. Once that line was brought down to a more reasonable and managable length the Psyco Path was back to small groups.
-
Here we go again..... As was stated many times last year the FearFest management team has nothing to do with this. They are told by the upper management of PKI when to do this, trust me, none of the management team likes to do this any more than the actors like doing it. They know it cuts down the haunt, everyone knows that, but when the head of the department and the head of the park tell those managers what to do they are going to do it.

Preview of Fearfest 2006..6..6..
Shman replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
The haunts that are outside are as follows: Actual Attractions (Both of which use woods area) Psyco Path Headless Hollow FearZones (Similar to, but not as big, as HHN Scarezones) Holiday Horror The Worksite Cornstalkers International Street The Fearzones listed above are areas that you walk through down the midways, they are not actual "haunted houses" where you have to wait in line and walk in small groups. The areas are designed with the outdoor elements in mind and vary from the indoor attractions in some ways because of this.
