Interesting. It could be kind of a "steam punk" creation. It does have metal looking claws though!
-
Unfortunately the cycle is too short....The ride on Max Air is significantly longer.

Any updates on our ole pal Monster?

NO! I still haven't been able to get back down there to finish my day at Wet 'n' Wild! (For those who are newer, in 2012 I did a major vacation to Orlando, hitting all of the major theme parks and waterparks. But the day I tried to do Wet 'n' Wild was the day that Tropical Storm Isaac moved through, and the resulting heavy rain kept so many people away that they closed the park after just one hour due to insufficient attendance, and I didn't get a chance to go back.) I'm going to make a prediction that Wet and Wild will remain as a waterpark and be a fourth venue for Universal. If they are smart, they will build a resort hotel on International Drive as a gateway to the main park with a shuttle/train/monorail type service. I would say that the resort would be comparable in price to the hotels on the strip.

Some of the windows had what appeared to be holographic scenes. One in particular had a bird in a cage that appeared to sing and follow the motion of the wand. This was in a dark part of the alley, the area, overall for me, was way too crowded to be enjoyable.

Wands cost about $50 with wizard capes at $109.... and nearly every kid had one or the other....I think the wands have RFI in them, becauses kids were spending a lot of time waving them in front of store windows. Full trip report coming in the next few days.

Great. Another reason to raise the admission prices.....lol.. I assure you.... That area near a Sand Lake rd has a huge mountain of sand already formed as of today. Based on the crowd here today, it will pay for itself in a split second.

Last I saw Zypher does have the newer LED lights. Hmmm....I'll have to check it out next time I'm there.

And you know, I wouldn't touch the old TR:TR building. I'd reroute the WWC to enter and exit between the TR:TR and Potato works then use the acreage behind the train station to build a "house" ...alone....in the woods.... Bwahahahaha!

I'd rather see Boo Hill updated and stay a kiddie ride, with a more traditional dark ride built elsewhere.... Perhaps Rivertown. I've always wanted a more traditional haunted mansion in Rivertown. After all, nearly every "river town" in Ohio has a house that is considered haunted.

I think KI is sorely lacking in flat rides for adults. Action Zone could use a couple but Rivertown is more like Ghost-town with it's lack of flats. Coney is overloaded with flat rides. Plus, who wouldn't like to see a flat with a magnificent light show in the woods of Rivertown?
-
At one point I remember green lights on it.....might have been back in the old Coney days.

Most likely they have removed the tubs so that equipment can easily reach the motor without damaging them. From Subway, you can see that most of the motor housing is exposed. I really do hope it gets a lighting package upgrade though ... As a matter of fact...wouldn't it be cool if Scrambler and Zephyr were to get a lighting package too... Maybe all the flats at KI will eventually get lighting packages....

Yes, that was Ryan, KIC Media Director, and master-glider-snapper. Did you see the last ride before the park closed? 7 KIC members and quite a few were snapping....fun time!
-
why not one of these... http://m.mentalfloss.com/article.php?id=63803 The atmosphere of the ride is real time virtual. Could techically be frightening!
-
It looks like a motor replacement to me. It was operating the last couple of weekends.
-
Congratulations Ryan for snapping and nearly punching Flying Ace Snoopy in the nose with a glider this evening! And mini marathoning with the KICers was really fun!!! Good seeing you guys tonight!

I'm sure others noticed, but there was an unusual amount if attractions that closed throughout the day or were closed. Monster was partially dismantled, im guessing its for a motor replacement. Maybe it will get an SRR upgrade and light package. Dodge Ems shut down late in the day. FOF was down. WindSeeker was down until early evening. Planet Snoopy was hit the worst with Surf Dog, Helicopters, and Aerial Chase all down. Seemed like the walking dead by afternoon, with people skipping the longer lines and just....walking. Still was a good time though. (I was in the park, but not at Coasterstock. That event was probably worth the ERT for certain....never saw so many busses in the lot, though!!!)

The dinosaurs are activated by crowd movement and often take a break after their last activation. If you wait for a couple of minutes, they will reactivate. If you look around the display, you will see their silent eye activation and you can walk past it to turn the dinosaur on. I happened to enter once and the group ahead of me was activating the displays, but by the time I got to the first display, it had stopped. Just take a break for a minute and they should start up again shortly. If they don't start up, it might be something else but I have never seen the whole area not working.

So what's up with this "power hour" crap on Banshee last night?
upstop replied to Keysersoze's topic in Kings Island
Btw....last Saturday, the trains were stacking and Fastlaners were not held back even for a second. I watched more than 50 Fastlaners walk the steps and go straight to a lane. So that blows the whole concept that they are "fed into the line" right out if the water. In fact when I got to the platform, rows 5 and 6 were blocked by orange cones and I believe they were reserved for Fastlane. The attendant was filling from the back forwards with only Fastlane and using 5 and 6 as overflow. The main line was only 3 queues and around. an hour long. My suggestion - add a tiered ticket. A cheaper than Fastlane one trip per ride ticket, and then double the price of the unlimited Fastlane. Then move the Fastlane exit further back in line where an attendant can feed them into the mainline as they arrive, maybe at the bottom of the stairs. This places some limits but there would be more options and sales of Fastlane and should keep the lines moving. -
Don't forget your bathing suit if you go Memorial day weekend and beyond! Soak City is free with your admission and opens Memorial Day weekend and during the heat of the day is a wonderful refreshing break! But most of all don't rush and enjoy the park! For a first time visitor, you will most likely be overwhelmed with the views. It's one of the cleanest and most beautifully kept parks in the east!

What the heck is the point in rushing through a Power Hour? Are they trying to reach a daily required cycle or something....God forbid someone get injured...im sure the park would appreciate their star rollercoaster closed for months pending an investigation. -
On Woodstock's Gliders and all Fliers in general, it's all in the initial motion....start out with the fin pushed to the left until the car starts to move outward, then rapidly switch the fin to the right. Keep this up and in about three swings you are snapping. Most novices switch too early. You have to hold the fin to the full left or right until you reach the desired apex. The short cycle on the Glider's doesn't help but it can be done.
