  1. I went to both parks the week of July 4th and was able to ride everything. Lines were long but nothing at either park was like the lines at Kings Island. The longest we waited was about a half hour for Volcano. Don't forget that both parks offer a front of the line pass upgrade if the parks are busy. Most importantly, just relax and have fun. Don't pressure yourself and you should be able to hit all of the rides easily.
  2. Actually, I believe that 3 or four flat rides would significantly reduce wait times in other lines.
  3. What about family flat rides....Flying Eagles, Tilt-a-Whirl, Himalaya, Flying Bobs and Cuddle Up come to mind.
  4. They're not called Headbanging Vekomas for no reason. Most of their coasters, in my opinion, are rough. Except for maybe Rockin RollerCoaster Staring Arrowsmith and maybe not the aggressive Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
  5. Is it me or does it appear to be the mirror image of Thunder Run at KK?
  6. KBF will be announcing their haunt attractions on Aug 6th. Interestingly, they also mention that there will be something never attempted at any amusement park haunt for this years attraction. I would check out the announcement when it occurs because it could also come to an amusement park near you. http://behindthethrills.com/2014/07/knotts-scary-farm-to-unveil-all-on-august-6th-for-42nd-annual-haunt/
  7. Interesting article. http://m.ocregister.com/articles/haunt-374835-trapped-maze.html
  8. Personally, I'd like to see Tower Gardens referbed into a sidewalk restaurant, with the fountains working again.
  9. Oops misread topic for last post. My prediction is for the next coaster. I dont think we will get another ride for a little while. Probably get more park upgrades like perhaps another sit down restaurant, or a Rivertown or Oktoberfest makover.
  10. I'm predicting that the next coaster (pehaps a giga) will most likely appear in X-Base with its station between Racer, AE, and FOF. It will head out between AE and FOF into the virgin forest behind AE. It will be similar to Leviathan and Fury 325/Centurion. Probably a B&M giga. I'd theme it as a tactical rocket experiment. Maybe call it something like Turbulence or Frenzy.
  11. "Among the warnings delivered to riders before they start their ascent is that one of the possible hazards of going down the waterslide is ... death." Don't forget that this appears to be reported from one single source from one reporter. I'm not so sure I would throw too much weight behind it without actually contacting the park for clarification.
  12. At Kings Dominion, the only effects working on BLSC were the shootout sound effects and the splashdown (which by the way was knee deep in algae.) I'm guessing that those were the only special effects because those effects haven't naturally failed like the others. No onboard sound, flashing cop car lights or sound, no bullet holes lighting up, no propeller spin on helicopter, no water explosions, no fire and no tunnel mist. Our BLSC is in somewhat better shape since some of the effects still work. We still have the cop car effects and sound, the shoot out sound effects and the occasional explosion. I wonder what condition the BLSC is like in Canada's Wonderland?
  13. Here is some info from Knotts Skeleton key program... http://goldenstatehauntsandevents.com/2013/08/29/new-experiences-await-at-knotts-scary-farm-with-skeleton-key-fast-lane-and-Elvira/ wow Knott's price seems rather steep for the "key" Yikes! their Trapped maze sounds awesome! https://www.knotts.com/haunt/ride/EXPERIENCES-1/cat/Experiences
  14. Why not a crossover to a Phantom Theater using technology used in DarKastle/Spiderman. State of the art 3d and less moving parts to deal with. Plus, being video, several versions could be created to give visitors different experiences.
  15. That's awesome. I bet people would line up to do that.
  16. You want atmosphere? Halloween Horror Nights has lots of atmosphere in their houses. My favorite of all time was a haunt that was supposed to be through a Victorian Grave yard in the winter. It took place in a soundstage.....dark.....mausoleum.....and super cold and yes falling snow throughout the exhibit! At one point they had an open grave just beyond a fence. Someone on a bungee flew out of the open grave to the edge of the walking line and back into the hole....super scary special effect.
  17. You might just stain your Corinthian leather.
  18. Ok. So which coaster is going to get cramps then leave for Miami and get cramps?
  19. Stopped by for an hour this evening to check out the construction...sorry no pictures....however, judging from what has been dug out and leveled so far, this "Haunt" appears to be 20 to 30 percent larger than any of the current haunt buildings. Question....if this haunt were to be a "pay to play" experience like some other parks have been experimenting with the past couple of years, where either you go alone or with your group for a personalized experience.... A, Do you think the GP would go for it? B. Would you go for it? Also, there are several stakes in the ground between The Beast and Vortex too....four white, two orange and one green as far as I could see through the fence.
  20. Unless...it becomes a pay to play haunt or maybe even a year round haunt attraction. Then logos and trademarks and gift shop stuff might apply.
  21. Personally, I hope they are invited back to perform something for Halloween Haunt. Great show, every time.
  22. Laissez les bons temps rouler.....on the rouler coaster next door perhaps?
  23. Maybe Wolf Pack is renaming and relocating and Slaughterhouse is moving into it's old location.
