  1. "Primarily constructed and manufactured locally". Sounds like it may be an S&S contraption.....super large version of Wild Hog?
  2. Most likely the easiest conversion, if a conversion occurs, will be to make Mantis into a sit down coaster...ala Kumba.
  3. Very interesting. I seem to remember talk of a ride/attraction during the Paramount years based on a movie called Snow Day...something about kids being able to play in snow inside a contained building.
  4. Wow...what fun! That was a cool article...I've always wondered what may have been planned for KI that never materialized. Anyone with information care to elaborate?
  5. Sometimes it feels like a Lost River at Coney.
  6. The ultimate goal of PETA is to Free Willie...they don't realize that lots of the animals in the park were rescue animals and some were born in captivity without ever being in open sea. Most of the animals would die because they wouldn't be handed a meal by a trainer. But I totally believe PETA is inching their way into ownership so they can release the animals and close the parks.
  7. I'm sure it is their long term plan to buy more. They don't want it to be too obvious...so a little at a time, over time until they are majority holders...it's how fascists take over things without anyone noticing or stopping them.
  8. PETA buying up stock in SeaWorld?....sounds like they are trying to become majority stock holders just to try to shut down the parks. Here is another article. http://fox5sandiego.com/2014/08/20/peta-takes-advantage-of-stock-dip-to-buy-seaworld-shares/#axzz3B552qOlb
  9. Is that a beekeeper uniform or a Hazmat uniform? Might lend more to the "you can't stop it, only contain it" line....or maybe zombie related...hehehe....rising from the dead and all.
  10. I believe the challenge is like this.... "I will donate $20 dollars to ALS if (insert name here) will dump a bucket of ice water on their head while it's being taped for You Tube" and then the individual challenged pays it forwards to another individual....and so on.... Anyone know a PR rep they'd like to challenge? edit....don't forget that the initial challenger has to take the plunge first in order to make the challenge legit.
  11. ^^ I believe the challenge was started by a high school student who is in the mid stage of ALS as a way to collect money for a cure. edit: 29 year old in stages of ALS http://www.mtv.com/news/1900335/ice-bucket-challenge-origin/
  12. Why not put a Ferris Wheel in the Tower Gardens location.....or better yet, right next to Oktoberfest lake?
  13. I hope Cirque returns. What a fun Fun addition it's been for the park this year!
  14. I wouldn't mind something a little Irish coming to KI....Leprechauns, trolls and witches....or an Irish pub ( I know... they would probably be serving chicken tenders and pizza with a good stout).
  15. For the 25th, I hope they bring back all of the best houses....Scream House, Psycoscarapy, and others.
  16. I wonder if the fairboard is dictating the operational hours to the park so that the potential park guests aren't distracted to spending dollars at the fair. edit: great minds think alike...LOL
  17. Easiest solution... get rid of the junior/senior ticket and charge everyone equally over the age of three.
  18. Maybe they should install age (height) and weight games at the entrance of each ride...you lose, you don't ride....LOL
  19. WWDD? (What would Disney do....) Well, they used to have a junior ticket pass...that was eliminated and the price was adjusted to age 3 and up prices...no discounts.
  20. I can't see this as much of a full circuit steel coaster with the amount of steel used in the partial prototype track.....it seems rather gimmicky to me.
  21. I miss the extensive build up with the website countdowns and mystery. Until the zombies took over, they had a seasonal icon that had it's own house. Those were the best seasons. I think the last one to have their own house/zone was Bloody Mary, and that was the year they brought in New Line Cinema horror movies. Been going downhill ever since, I've heard. The house are always phenomenal, just starting to get lax on the theming.
