yea, although i despise the color orange with a passion, i'm actually not bothered by the color scheme.
kudos to Cedar Fair!!!

so, there have been two more pictures added to the Planet Snoopy album in Kings Island's photo gallery on facebook.
one is a more zoomed out picture of "the ride formally known as rugrats runaway reptar" and the other is of "the ride formally known as jimmy newtron's atom smashers."

...but you agree that the running rails are steel, which in theory, would make texas giant now a hybrid coaster, like gemini, the voyage, cedar creek mine ride, hades, ect...
*yes, i know that hades and the voyage are in the other category of hybrid coasters (steel supports with wooden track)

look at post #312 by kibob, he posted them at 4:37 today.

it is a great sound, for some reason i always find myself in love with the misfits of the amusement/theme park industry.
top thrill, mean streak, Son of Beast, the crypt... and the list goes on.

goodyellowkorn, this one?

^ What makes you feel that way?
what makes me feel what way?

question 5: then how on earth did they get by with running more than one train after rain before Cedar Fair took over?
-
it might be a lure, but it would be completely unusable.

I actually can't wait to see what Tim Burton's "smoking caterpillar" looks like.
so this is just a picture of him, but here is a link to a picture of what he looks like in the new movie:
-
i think i'm going to see it next saturday, it looks so awesome and i love tim burton's films.
-
in all honesty, i liked it better before i heard the jingle, but hey, that's just my opinion.
maybe i'll like it better when i hear it on t.v. and see a roller coaster (hopefully one from Kings Island) in the background.
-
^that was just my guess, i have no idea if my guess was right.
-
i don't remember it taking Kings Island very long to get the mandatory testing in for Diamondback, so as long as they get the trains loaded and running in the next two weeks i could see it being open on time.
unless it has unforeseen downtime, but it's intiman, what's there to worry about?
just check out giga's trip report from last years opening day at Cedar Point.?

Does that place look familiar to any of you?
inside of the gift shop in Planet Snoopy?
-
nick, your camera has an amazing zoom!!!! The Beast is clear on the other side of the park and the pictures you took look like you were standing right over by it, well hovering in the air by it.
i really want to go to great wolf, hopefully this year since now gold passes get you special deals.

Q: BRIAN E. LAMM - Will there ever be an area at Kings Island to display the history of Kings Island? Say a small museum in the park, something with old pictures or props, maybe even parts of old rides? Just an idea for older folks to remiinisce about the past to the younger generation.
A: Love the idea, Brian. There's so much history that's been built over the years. Certainly worth a discussion, especially with the 40th anniversary season coming up in a couple of years.
okay, brian e. lamm asked the same exact question i did from the day before, and i also managed to post it right after him for today's 5@5, i guess my question now is, brian e. lamm, are you a member on here?

Painting the picture in Planet Snoopy
Workmen were busy Monday painting the track of one of the four roller coasters in the all-new Planet Snoopy area at Kings Island.
Click on the link below to see more of the work being done in Planet Snoopy.

^yea, the less walking the better.
-
^you mean blu-ray? i'm about 97% sure that it's only being released on blu-ray.
-
Yes they reused the sign from the Shooting Star for Haley's (sp?) Comet. It was mentioned in the documentary that was online not too long ago.
speaking of that documentary, any word on when it will air on t.v.?
-
wouldn't the heat the ride gives off cause evaporation of the water in the "lava pit"?
and is that why it's so cold in the ride chamber, to prevent sweating of the ride parts?
-
^where in that picture are you talking about? all i see is The Beast's lift hill in a "blizzard"
-
From what I've seen from outside the park (I have not been in AZ, or even close), SoB appears to not have been touched over the offseason. Whether that's evidence for/against its removal, I don't know.
Son of Beast also appeared to "not have been touched" while the loop was removed, but from areal pictures taken you could clearly see that more work had been done than removing the loop and replacing it with a bunny hop.
the way most people complain about the ride, the part that you see the most is not the problem area, it's the bottom of the rose bowl, which very little can been seen of while not inside the park, or anywhere but on the maintinace paths for that matter.

^ yet another reason it's so great to be terpy, you're in the know before many could even fathom it. (well not really in this case.)
