Edit: What just happened?
what are you talking about?
-
i never got to ride it.
the year i was finally tall enough to ride it was the year it was removed.
-
from seaworld:
http://www.seaworldparksblog.com/explore/blog/tribute-dawn-brancheau
the video was played before the first showing of the believe shows at each seaworld park.
-
i was thinking more of this, from one of my favorite musicals:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgL6nZ2hYXA
not technically "downtown" but it says it a lot.
-
okay, i know that there are threads with king cobra pov's, but this one is different from all of those, plus it was released by Kings Island
*clicking the video works the same as a link
-
i really like standbyme's suggestions, but if the house is in well enough shape, i think it would be neat to remove the fort structure and do some touch up work to the old farm house setting in side of it and then the train operators could have a spiel about how that was the farm house belonging to the people who owned the land in which Kings Island sets on before it was purchased and Kings Island built.
kind of like a mini history lesson about the park.

you, the way your post read, you were agreeing with terpy's post about how every time he hears Diamondback's horn he almost always thinks first " today's going to be a great adventure!" which was a reference to kingda ka's horn.
-
^ the interpreter was referring to Diamondback having the same horn as kingda ka (which is located at six flags great adventure.)
-
well, it's about time they changed the signs.
they still had the looping Son of Beast logo on them. (still being positive )
-
terpy, how do you come up with this stuff.
-
^did you just hint a liking for Son of Beast?
-
^umm... how many people does it take to push that train back? although only a three car train, it still has to be heavy, doesn't it?
-
^i thought it was kinda neat that they asked you for a suggestion.

A lot of great questions today! Good variety. Keep em' coming!
Q: Asa McCormick - How many test runs does a roller coaster have to make in the offseason before it can re-open in the spring?
A: Unless it's a new roller coaster, each train will make 100-or-more cycles while a flat ride will perform 50. Once the test cycles have been completed, the State of Ohio visits to inspect and certify the rides before the park opens.
---------------------------
Q: Tom Wones - I have been asking this same question for years. WILL YOU BRING BACK WINTERFEST?
A: C'mon now Tom! With all this snow we've had this winter, how can you be thinking cold thoughts? But to answer your question, the decision to no longer have Winterfest was made so the park could put all of its focus on its core season, which is spring, summer and fall. There are no plans at least for the foreseeable future to bring Winterfest back.
---------------------------
Q: Austin Benton - Do you offer internships?
A: Internship opportunties are available in areas such as marekting, promotions, catering, public relations, video production. These positions are typically filled in early February by college students. Available internships are posted online in the jobs section of our website.
---------------------------
Q: Justin Balogh - Has there been any new plants, trees and other greenery placed around the park? I know Action Zone could use some.
A: Once the snow melts and the weather warms up, our landscapers will place new plants, trees and other greenery in different locations throughout the park. We have our own greenhouse on property. We'll post some pics of the landscapers putting in new plants and such in the spring.
---------------------------
Q: Kyle Joyce - Can we expect any new theming or updates on the Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad to bring it up to par with the theming on Cedar Point's railroad?
A: We were talking about the train just the other day over lunch. We've discussed ideas on things we can do to make the train ride more of an experience for our guests. What ideas would you have for the train?
i really like the first question asked.
-
Are we seriously discussing TOGO, and not only TOGO, but two misprints that give the "hint" to a TOGO?
Ya'all (and yes, I AM allowed to say that, natural born KY here) need something to do in the offseasons.
cedarpointer pointed out at the beginning of this thread that it was a joke and only a joke.
edit: you spelled y'all wrong.

yet another article about her.
i thought this quote was quite interesting:
Brancheau, the youngest of six children, studied psychology and animal behavior at the University of South Carolina and worked with dolphins at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey for two years before being hired at SeaWorld, her mother said. -
^not to mention the box of scooby snacks setting by the mantle.
i guess you have to give them some credit though, the ride hasn't ran with the public as riders since the re-theme.
-
the mystery machine was what the front of the photo booth, that was until it became fairly odd coaster.
-
it's really sad that they are most likely unable to release tillikum back into the wild because of his extended stay in captivity, i hope that they can find something to do with him.
has he had a history of being rough with the other orca whales in captivity with him that could possibly effect his future?
-
... and ruin the pattern that has been set in place?
-
^i'm using firefox and it's coming up fine.
-
i'm glad that "thrill rides" and "roller coasters" are now in distinctive categories, i never liked how paramount placed them both together.
-
i like it a lot, can't wait for Kings Island's new site.

^that house was the home of the owners of the land Kings Island sets on before it was purchased to build Kings Island, so yes, the fort was built after the house.
