As a side note, this is also the reason you wont see a US Bank upgrade in the near future. So long as Nederlander wants the City to cover 90% of the upgrade costs, it'll never happen. The lack of a permanent tenant hurts it as well. Between Yum to the South, BBT to the immediate south, Value City to the East and Bankers Life to the West, there are other, more appealing arenas to play. I think the City realizes that its vision for the Banks won't be complete without a new or highly renovated Us Bank, but lacks the incentive or the money to realize it. Recall that as Cincy was fiddling, the development that became Newport on the Levee plopped down in Kentucky, depriving Cincy of much-needed tax revenue. Public Private Partnerships can work; perhaps Nederlander would be more receptive to paying for the upgrades if it knew it could then reap the revenue for years to come.

The deal Brown signed with the City puts the onus squarely on the City to pay for ongoing maintenance and upgrades to the stadium. It's no coincidence that PBS was one of, if not the last NFL stadium to receive an HD video board.

Cedar Fair Renews Peanuts License
Gabe replied to KIBeast's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Because other parks were likely knocking down the door to become associated with the Peanuts brand. I'd like to know what the renewal terms were. I'd guess a small increase year to year over what they were paying, if nothing else than to account for inflation. Not a lot of 'cheap' kid-friendly IP out there. -
As opposed to previous years, when any new pass allowed admission for the rest of the 2017 season (including Haunt) as well. Those of us that had passes several years ago recall a decision the park made to charge an additional fee for Haunt, even for passholders. That decision was made between the end of the regular season and the start of Haunt and was quickly reversed after much passholder outcry. So, the park does listen...

I think starting last year you could upload a picture to your season pass application, which the park would use. Doing so eliminates a lot of the wait, since you won't have to stand in front of a camera while an associate takes time to position you properly, etc. In years past, the deadline to order a pass at the lowest price point has been extended a week after Haunt ends, but as always, that is subject to change. Goble is right; in my 14 years of being a passholder, I have never seen the passes on sale for less than advertised at that time. If you attend a buyout day (GE, P & G), I know that one of the perks (besides short waits) was the opportunity to buy a season pass at a decent discount than that offered to the public. Again, not sure if that still holds true.

Welcome to KIC! To answer: 1. New passholders will have their free parking beginning with the 2018 season, once they've used their free visit; I believe Winterfest is still considered part of the 2017 season. 2. You may either process your pass at the park through closing day of Haunt, or save your paperwork and do it at the park in the Spring. Traditionally, the park has opened for a few hours a day the week before the season opens for season pass processing only. I don't believe the park mails passes. 3. Free parking goes away once the Gold offer does, which is usually just after Memorial Day; however, the lowest price of the year is currently being advertised. After closing day of Haunt, the price shoots up for Gold. If that's important to you, I would advise buying now.

It wasn't so much of an audition as it was signing up, much like the Jedi stuff they do in front of Star Tours. Typically, the park would open up about 25-30 singing slots for the day. There was a short audition inside the theater once the slots were filled, but trust me when I say you only had to be a halfway decent singer to pass. The 'top' 10 would then perform inside the theater live in the late afternoon/evening, with the winner getting some sort of swag (T shirts, etc.). The park did have Robbie Kneivel some years back jump over a lot of Coke trucks parked in the parking lot, in an homage to his dad, who jumped over a lot of school buses in the park in the 70s. Also, the park has hosted Nick Wallenda to do a tightrope walk over I street from the IR to the ET. All were fun to watch and happened about this time in the summer, so it's nice to see the park mix it up. From what I saw of the dog show last week when I was there, I would have gonged it after about 10 seconds!

Saturdays tend to be busier. Labor Day usually features the addition of dollar days at KI, with lots of food and drink items costing $1 (usually hot dogs, Banshee ice cream, soda). That usually translates into big crowds all weekend and insanely long lines at food locations offering the deal. If you're going to buy a Fast Lane pass (FastPass is registered Disney trademark for use in their parks), I'd upgrade to Plus, since it gives you Mystic, The Beast and other slides in Soak City. Given the crowds, waits of 60 min + aren't unheard of. Weather, as always, plays a part as well. If rain is in the forecast, that tends to depress crowd levels. Welcome to KIC!

It took 2 years to confirm, but yes, a Tron coaster clone from Shanghai is going into Tomorowland at the MK, next to Space as part of what looks to be a smallish expansion of TL. Contrary to rumors, based on the site plan unveiled at D23, the ride will not displace the Speedway, which is expected to remain open.

The GMR was getting pretty long in the tooth. Today's generation doesn't know or care about the films the ride highlights (Busby Berkley, old monster movies, Tarzan, Casablanca, Wizard of Oz, etc.). That plus the tired western/mob ride takeover was getting old. The end sequence of the ride featuring highlights from the dawn of fimmaking was always my favorite, but even in recent years, the quality of the images on the screens was poor, at best). The Park needed another D or E ticket ride and from the sounds of things, this will be a nice D attraction like the Slinky Dog Coaster, sandwiched between the Star Wars stuff and TOT.

I would call the park or tweet them for the latest information. I believe the park rents both single and double strollers.

assuming you have motivated employees on the line who want to get food out quickly. Last Tues, I ordered at the CM Skyline kiosk, then waited 30 min for my food. during that time, I noticed the 3 employees inside running around with no organization whatsoever and one girl in particular whose attitude was indifferent at best. The Park was maybe a 3-4/10 in terms of crowd levels at the time I went around lunch. All the kiosks accomplished were shifting the groups of people waiting for their food from the cashier area to the food pick up area, creating a bottleneck that spilled out onto the midway.

With regards to the Kroger tickets, if a group of people are going, some with Kroger tickets and some using their Gold/Plat passes, only those with the passes will be allowed early ride time. If that's a concern for some folks, it might just be better to pay a few dollars more for the bring a friend ticket.

If I recall, the music from the old TR:TR comes from Peter Gabriel's soundtrack for the Last Temptation of Christ.

I'd keep checking your MDE throughout the week, since it will show the ride wait times and will also allow you to get either a FP if available if the area soft opens. Be advised that the times for soft opens vary widely and may only be open for a short time at that. As an example, I recall when Snow White first opened, it was up and down quite a bit, and only stayed open for short periods at first.

I'd settle for the return of the sign. They upgraded Vortex's sign, so they could just have easily spruced up CM's sign as well. remains to be seen.

Proposed park in Casa Grande, AZ to rival WDW.

Sounds a lot like Celebration and we all know how that turned out for the Mouse... -
i'm not a huge slide person, but i will say that whether or not its a design flaw, almost everyone I saw(me included) got stuck on the the 'toilet bowl' slide on Harmony to the extent that you'd have to scoot yourself through the element to enter the final portion of the slide. Most everyone I saw on the slide including me was average size. The Ultimate Abyss was definately unique and fun. They do have about 30 min of downtime every day or so in order to keep the slide properly greased, so to speak. We put down a deposit before we disembarked for good to sail on her again next winter on her Eastern route (FLL-Sea-Sea-PR-Saint Maarten/Martin-Labdee-Sea-FLL.) we did the western leg this trip (FLL-Sea-Labadee, Falmouth-Sea-Cozumel-Sea-FLL).

Harmony was our first Royal cruise and we won't go back to any other line after having sailed on her. Book your dining excursions and entertainment way ahead of time like we did. The stand bys were often disappointed. The fact that Harmony is only the first Royal ship to feature a slide complex was astounding to me, since other lines have touted them for years.

My kids were on a Disney Carribbean cruise this past summer, which they enjoyed. I do know that a Disney cruise is generally about 2x as much as any other cruise brand. Might I suggest an alternative if your heart's not set on alaska? My fiancee and I recently cruised on Royal's latest ship the Harmony of the Seas. It was stupendous! If you're looking for help booking your cruise, PM me and I will send you the name of the agent we've now used twice, who's great!

Well, the latest now seemingly-annual price increases (this most recent one began Sunday) should cover a portion of the gondola network they're apparently thinking about! Note that all tickets now sold must have their first day used by 12/31/18. Any tickets not used by then will retain their original purchase price value towards the purchase of new tickets. This is a change from previous policy where tickets bought never had a use-by date until one first enters a park. Some 3rd-party authorized resellers still have 2016 inventory left, in case anyone is interested in "banking" their tickets for future use, no matter how far out.

No date has been announced as of yet. Judging from the construction photos I've seen online, I'd speculate a summer 2018 open.
