  1. To be honest, I don't view either item as an accomplishment. Its all about just having fun. I have ridden DB 1255 times so far not because I am trying to accomplish somehting but because I love the ride. ( I just figure if I am going to ride that many times I might as well keep count.) I am not out to set any kind of record-I will continue to ride hopefully until the day I am ready to go to my final reward. ( LOL.) Just a side note about Gary-without going into detail Gary has had a tough time in his private life. I am sure those many rides on DB have given him much needed relief.
  2. If you want lounge chairs for yourself and the rest of your party, get to the waterpark right when it opens ( 10:30am if you are a gold/platinum passholder, 11:am if you are a non-passholder) By noon, there will be no chairs left.
  3. Just spoke with a very nice manager this morning in Guest Relations, Matt, after my ert. ( wish I could remember his last name.) We had a very nice talk about the situation and without going into the details, was very pleased about how he addressed my concerns. Also, I have absolutely no issue with all the dedicated employees at KI who work in the trenches, including those who clean the rest rooms and the people in Guest Relations. Your hard work and friendliness in no small part has been making me a repeat customer of KI for so many years. Kudos to you, Matt, and all the other dedicated employees of KI>
  4. With all due respect, the notion that there is nothing that can be done about outdoor restrooms in theme parks is simply a convenient excuse to do nothing. The other restrooms at KI (including the outdoor ones.) other than the ones I mentioned do have a/c. You may say that you should go to a restroom with a/c but if I am by The Beast and have to go badly, I have no other alternative. I give you Holiday World as a perfect example of a park that keeps their restrooms cool and comfortable for their guests.
  5. The simple solution is to fix the a/c and close the doors. Problem solved. I agree that the park cannot keep up with the people that trash the rest rooms but I don't see how that is relevant to the maintence of the a/c. Believe you me, if you even have to be in those rest rooms for 5 minutes to do your business, it is absolutely miserable.
  6. I have enjoyed the humor in this discussion thread but this is a very serious issue from a customer service perspective. We have had so many discussions on these threads about the declining concern for customer service. To me, not providing comfortable restrooms is the ultimate slap in the customer's face. I am sure you understand what I mean, Terpie.
  7. Not easy if its an emergency. When you gotta go, you gotta go.
  8. And how about people that use the hand dryers to dry their clothes from the water rides? I understand the park may have to install new a/c units but, as far as I'm concerned, if they can charge ridiculously high prices for food and drinks, there is no reason they cannot afford to put in new a/c units.
  9. I have repeatedly to no avail brought this issue to the attention of Guest Relations, so I am going public with this in the hope that something is finally done. In the Men's bathrooms across from Diamondback, Racer, Backlot Stunt Coaster, and WindSeeker, there is no air conditioning. This is extremely uncomfortable ( and disgusting ) during these killer heat waves. My message to you, management, is simple: Fix the air conditioning! I am not a complainer but when a guest's basic comforts are ignored, this is unacceptable.
  10. I would like to know what Dolly Partin would think about this incident as she is known to have a lot of gay friends.
  11. While true, I think we would agree it's better to over-estimate a wait time rather than under-estimate a wait time. To over-estimate a wait time too much to me is just as much a disservice to the public as to under-estimate. When guests pay their hard earned money to go to a park, I think they have the right to know as close as possible what the true wait time is for a ride. It is one thing to overestimate by 10 minutes, even 15 mintues but to say a wait is 1 1/2 hours when it is 45 minutes ( As I often see with respect to The Beast) is ridiculous.
  12. Good point Terpie. I just think when a guest visits an amusement park, they should know the accurate wait time for rides so they can get more bang for their buck.
  13. ^ (So after waiting in line and timing it, have you ever looked at your watch and thought "So it's a 40 minute wait eh. This rides not worth that, I think i'll pass.) My point is ( and I have stated it in so many posts-pardon my repetition) is that ride wait times are usually overestimated or exaggerated. People will base wait times upon unreliable hearsay from others. One time, I was in line for Raptor and I was about a third of the way through the queues and it had been only 20 minutes-the girl behind me was speaking with her friend on her cel phone and said she had been in line for an hour. ( And she had cut in line!) And on numerous occasions posted waits for rides have been totally inaccurate. You might say that ride attendants overestimate waits so guests won't be dissappointed. However, I would miss out on a lot of rides if I listened to others rather than find out for myself what the wait was.
  14. It's sometimes hard to believe the wait time signs. I've often seen guests go up and change the wait time. I don't ever trust the wait time signs for that reason. If I want to know how long the wait is for a ride, I walk up the queue, look at the line, and estimate the wait myself. I'll go one further. If I want to know the true wait time I wait in the line and time it. That is the only sure way to find out what the true wait time is for any ride.
  15. I still call it The Beastie! Woodstock Express back to its original name, The Scooby Doo Coaster.
  16. Since Cedar Point is a destination park, you can find weekdays being almost as packed as Saturdays. It seems like crowds vary according to the time of the season rather than the day of the week with crowds surging during the months of July and August. However, I find the one day you can depend upon the park being not crowded no matter what time of the summer is Sunday.
  17. WhoDeyForever, with all due respect, how would you have felt if someone, perhaps someone's child, got seriously hurt if that cel phone had flown out of your hand while you were riding? At Geagua lake, for example, a woman's skull was fractured as a result of a cel phone falling out of a rider's hands on The Villain. The rules against cel phones are posted. I am not condoning rudeness by the ride attendant but I have experienced first hand other riders showing absolutely no regard for my safety by doing anything from taking photos to smoking while riding.
  18. ^Plus I just don't think the average family especially in these tough times can afford an extra $50 a person. Therefore, I just don't see a lot of Fast Lane customers.
  19. I went to the park last night and they were still allowing fast pass rides on DB durng the 8:00 hour-perhaps they were extending the hours because of the rain earlier. Didn't notice any significant difference in the wait time other than some ride down-time.
  20. Just before the trim it seems to get a little bumpy but not horrible. Still one of my favs.
  21. Welcome to KI Central Dustin and Akifan.
  22. Very good decision to keep BB open later this week-it is has been a long time since it has been this humid outside.
  23. If people are willing to pay the extra $50 for the Fast Lane, that is their perogative. However, I think they are waisting their money as even on the busiest days, the lines don't seem to be as busy as people think. ( For example, last year on a Saturday when Sean Hannity was in town, I clocked The Beast at a 45 minute wait as opposed to the 90 minutes stated on the sign. And I have clocked DB at 50 minutes from the entrance to Rivertown Junction.)I understand that I am speaking from the perspective of someone who lives near the park and goes frequently but I still don't think spending an extra $50 to avoid 45 to 50 minute waits is worth it. I can see spending this money to avoid 2-3 hour waits but the waits are never that long at KI>

    Dress Code

At CP, you are allowed to wear your swimsuit on Snake River Falls, Thunder Canyon and Shoot the Rapids and you can even go barefoot on those rides. I don't understand why KI won't allow such on White Water Canyon and Congo Falls. ( Unless they have changed the rules on those rides since Cedar Fair took over.)
  25. For this reason, I am not sure if it really makes any difference in capacity whether M Force runs two or three trains.
