  1. Although I'm glad Six Flags never bought the park, I would have enjoyed the Mr. Six dance parties by the bandstand off International Street.
  2. I remember when The Beast had the buzz bars, ie no lap bars, so that Do Not Stand sign had real meaning. Keep those photos coming Paul. They certainly will help me get through this long, cold winter.
  3. I think the log flume ride was called The Mill Race. It was there until Raptor began construction in the fall of 1993.
  4. The very first ride I can remember building a multiple, superswitchback complex ( 30 plus rows) is Magnum.
  5. Vortex never had switchbacks except on the very inside. Always wondered what management was thinking not building outside switchbacks.
  6. My heart goes out to Morgan's family.
  7. I only went to Winterfest once back in 1992 which was the last year of the event. At the time, I was disappointed but I have been told by others that it was a good event in prior years. I personally would love it if KI brought back Winterfest as long as the prices were reasonable.
  8. All the more shocking that Marcia snitched on Greg for smoking-Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!!!( LOL.)
  9. Its unfortunate that probably the greatest name in the history of movies must be censored because of people's silly attitudes.
  10. Post it as Alfred Hitchc0ck-use the 0 instead of the o and you won't have any problems with the censors.
  11. Very wise words, 74Gibson. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
  12. I think the likeliest location for a giga at KI if one is in fact coming in the aftermath of Leviathon would be around Dinosaurs Alive with a prehistoric theme like Leviathon.
  13. A good start for a sit-down restuarant would be to reopen the International Street Resturant. That place had great food and a wonderful atmosphere.
  14. I think there were plans to add a Wayne's World section like that at KD and Carowinds but somehow the plans fell throgh.
  15. For the past 25 years, Dick Kinzel has given me many modes of enjoyment with such contraptions as Gemini, Magnum, Raptor, Mantis, Millenium Force, Wicked Twister, Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick, and Diamondback. And I have met him several times and he seems like a sweet, down to earth guy-he always seems to remember me when I see him at KI or CP. Thank you and God bless you, Mr. Kinzel, for giving me so many years of happiness.
  16. Will do my usual last train on DB.
  17. Unfortunately, I think some of the dire predictions about Fast Lane have come true that it would become a capacity nightmare. Last night, DB's line started at Rivertown Junction. What was normally in the past about a 50 minute wait was a 1 hr 55 minute wait. Last Saturday, The Beast line stretched to the arcade. What was normally a 1 hr wait stretched to a 1 hr 35 minute wait.
  18. When I rode it back in July the trims were off the first drop and the ride was just fine until that first banked turn-I felt like Pete Puma in that Bugs Bunny cartoon from that point on. ( How many lumps do you want? Oh three or four.) You know the rest. ( LOL.)
  19. My sincere condolences to you. You father must have been a very special person. I especially loved the photos of the Corkscrew midway which showed the sign leading to Jungle Larry and Safari Jane. ( The wild animal preserve where Power Tower sits now.)
  20. Did you by any chance catch The Good Time Ghouls?
  21. Sounds like you had a lot of fun despite the lousy weather. Thanks for the great photos. PS. I'm still pinching myself at the thought of Darlene scaring you guys.
  22. All I can say is the kids seem to be enjoying the Peanuts characters just as much as the Nick characters from the smiles on their faces. Nuff said.
  23. i just heard that Ron Toomer, creater of such coaster greats as Vortex and Magnum XL 200 just passed away today at 81. He was certainly one of the greats and will be sorely missed.
