Great trip report! This year was also the first time I was ablt to get my daughter to ride the Crypt. We go every year, and she has been working up her nerve. This year she rode everything, in cluding the Crypt. I died laughing, as she walked off of it, she was amazed at how scared she had been of it, and said, "They should re name that ride, and call it "The Crapt"!!!

It's hard to think of things I'd like to see changed that haven't already been mentioned. I can say, it really sucked getting a shuttle from our hotel, but then being dropped off out by the big Ki sign. We had to walk forever to get in to the park. Going out when you are tired is worse because it's uphill. So I'd like to see a better "drop off/pick up" spot. Next, I will say, NO REMOVAL OF ANY RIDES!!! I don't like the idea of tearing or burning down rides. Whats the point of that. It's a "dream" topic anyways, so leave all the stuff where it is, and add the inverts, floorless, dives, and all that stuff to other areas. LOL I am a smoker, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by how many smoking areas are provided by the park. Every area in the park has a smoking section, except for Nick which is understandable, and most of them have more than one. I was appalled while standing in line for DB and a guy in front of me was smoking. It was a 15 minute wait! You couldn't hold out? It is just as bad for smokers in that situation, because when you smell the smoke it sort of squeezes your lungs, and makes you want to smoke really bad. My next issue is with line jumpers. I saw a lot of them on our visit. On 2 occasions, it happened in plain view of a ride op. They did nothing about it. I didn't bother saying anything, because if the ride ops can't do anything about it, all I'm going to do is end up in a fight. Thats no good for anybody. So, I guess my MAIN change for the park. Roving security gaurds. Do they already have them? I haven't noticed any. I am not just talking about 2 sixty five year old dudes roaming the park. Real security that can get in the lines, pull jumpers out, pull smokers out, no warnings, the signs posted all over the park are warnings. Throw these idiots out! I don't think CF realizes how quickly someones day can be ruined by having to deal with these people. When you witness a man showing his kids how to spit gum over the railing, and trying to hit the coaster tracks, it's pretty evident that the parents aren't going to police them. Security is really needed at the park. More than new rides or area expansions.

I remember that i was lauging. Back on topic of how people try not to get into arguments I cant stand it when people tell ME wrong info and then brage of how there right I always say whats your source then they get mad and yell at me and i stay calm and they get mad and sometimes kicked off the ride. Only a KIC member would tell them to "cite their source"!!!! I love it!!!

How many trips to Holiday World? You seem to like that one a little more than the others.

^ I can't read any of your posts now without laughing. Love the new pic. I hope you don't make any serious points anytime soon. I don't think I could take them seriously.

The results were........interesting. After seeing it, I can't believe that I didn't know what it was in the first place!

Intresting CP Tweet

I have sampled the "White Lightnin" from WV. It is not to be taken lightly -
I had to "google" that last word. I have been laughing ever sense!!!

give the thread a little time. There are many people on here that work at the park. I do not. They will respond, and be able to give you a more detailed answer.

I think the people on here know the SoB crew by knowing each person. The rides don't have separate uniforms for each ride, I don't think so anyways. All the rides I went on just had people in those "cute" little red shirts with the blue "thingys" on the shoulders.
-
That ran on the local news in Columbus too, then they had to mention Firehawk, and SoB after that. The funny part was, when showing SoB, it was the animated video from before it was built, showing the POV of it going through the loop!!! I thought it was funny. They said here that they were trapped for hours. I wonder if that means 2 hours, or like 6 or more. That would suck!!!

This reminds me of all the fun we had trying to guess the name of KI's new coaster. We just got a bunch of signs. I wonder if these types of web pages were out there, and nobody found them?

If you can afford to do it. I think thats what a lot of people miss out on. (not you exactlly, just people in general) The cost of tearing down, plus all the other costs to build coasters at parks that have already been planned for years. The fact that Cedar Fair seems committed to paying down debt. I am not sure that a new unplanned coaster at KI to replace SoB would fit the budget. If they can't figure out a way to re-open it as is, or with minimal re-engineering then it may very well be SbnO for many years. I hope thats not the case, but it could end up being reality if a better financial plan doesn't pop up.

I am one of the people that do not count. Not for any reason other than I can''t keep up! I get to the park, start running around, and loose track of what I rode, and how many times! I know that I rode DB either 6 or 7 times, which doesn't seem like a big deal. But, for people that ride a lot, if you count, and forget one or two rides per trip, after a few years that adds up quite a bit. All I say is, I have ridden The Beast, and The Racer a Lot!!!! LOL

Uh oh, before we call the Terpster a Moderate, conservative, or the dreaded "L" word, we better the T.O.S. !!!!

Actually, there are many things employees know that aren't disclosed to the public. (no I'm not an employee but I have connections and sources). That's all I'm saying as more would be putting jobs at risk. Yep, I know what you are saying, but there is a flip side too. There are A LOT of park employees that are totally in the dark about operations, but that doesn't mean that they don't shoot their mouth off like they are in every board meeting.

The way things go, if people started saying Coney Mall didn't sound right, so they should change the name. They would change it to something like Midway Mall
-
Glad you got to ride! sounds like you really enjoyed it!!!!!
-
Wonder how many times he thought Flight Deck went upside down? It has those big bulky shoulder harnesses... LOL
-
I think Coney Mall is a refrence to the OLD Coney Island. It was an old time amusment park that sat on the river. Coney Mall is supposed to be a reflection of that old park.

Win A Ride On Millenium Force With Jeff Gordon
Tomkatt7 replied to RailRider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Love him or hate him, or couldn't care less..... Jeff Gordon should bring a pretty big crowd to the park that day. -
It may be expensive to re-up the contract, but more so than a whole new Kiddie area? I'm thinking of things like, Blue's Skidoo, Avatar, and the small rides like that. The coasters can just be re-painted (maybe), and re-named. But some of the other stuff have nick character cars. Those would have to be replaced to.

friends at ki central

Too bad you won't make any more visits to the park. let me be the first to say that participating in the high school athletics is far more important! you only have limited time to play football, run track, be in the marching band etc. I'm glad to see you taking advantage of what is offered. Kings Island, or some form of it, will always be around.
