Construction Marker behind SlingShot’s former area?
DoomPlague replied to Orion13's topic in Kings Island
I will echo sentiments that a new indoor eating option somewhere at the farther end of Coney Mall would be welcome. And also that Action Zone is the one area that needs an overhaul the most. And that the offerings at Festhaus need to be rethought. They have schnitzel this year for the 50th. How about we get some bratwurst? -
Yeah it is pretty much every time, but honestly its understandable. The average rider doesn't know about blocks and most coasters at the park don't do the same thing. As far as stopping at the top vs the slow climb, it seems like the slow climb also has the benefit of timing the trains to pass each other.

Canada's Wonderland Waterpark closed today
DoomPlague replied to disco2000's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
So a water slide in Canada managed to catch fire? If that doesn't prove global warming, I don't know what will. -
Like KI Guy said, minors are not protected from discrimination. This is well established in the law. Even the government does it. That's not ever going to change. I'm not for a chaperone policy, except as a last resort, but there is nothing wrong with saying that teens cause trouble. There's a big difference between talking about the well established differences between teen behavior and adult behavior and talking about racial differences or whatever it is you are implying.

I understand what you're trying to say but the effect would only really be noticeable on light days and then you risk more seats going empty because people aren't getting to the station in time. On any other day, the time it takes to walk the switchbacks is too small to notice compared to the overall wait. Honestly, any time a bunch of switchbacks are open that don't need to be, I just check that I'm not cutting in front of someone and safely climb through the railings and no one minds.

Happy to see this. Sundays were a great time to go when they had it in the past in part because crowds were low. Though I suppose that's not guaranteed to be the case this year. The two sundays I went last October were busier than I expected.

I tried but since the shirt pic isn't completely flat, it would take more know-how than I have. However, I can tell you that the track and the lower part of the mouth are essentially identical. As far as the top, many of the scales have the same shape and shading. It's definitely a copy/modify job. I still suspect some lazy person was assigned to make a logo for some merchandise. All we have is a single pic someone posted of a shirt.
-
That's my understanding as well. It's also not an exact copy (seems like they made modifications or recreated it) but I don't think trademarks have to be. I think you could get away with this sort of copy if its something completely unrelated to a rollercoaster but that isn't the case here. Though there's a good chance that this isn't the ride's official logo and is just something that someone slapped together for a t-shirt. CF might just send a letter and the shirts would likely just disappear.

I personally do miss the hike, tbh. Venturing far into the woods and then smelling that water. That was part of the experience. I also do remember the snakes, but had forgotten about them until they were mentioned here.

Keep in mind that they have no log flume anymore at CP. Snake River Falls is good but at least Congo Falls has that double down with a little airtime. I would like to see upgrades to WWC but I still prefer it to Thunder Canyon. The waterfalls are great but that's all TC has. The boats are so big that they don't really spin and the rapids do absolutely nothing to them. My last ride on WWC, two of us weren't even on the side that hit that rapids yet we hit one set so hard that we got completely drenched from the splash.

A couple weeks ago, in the guest-controller section, the little girls in our raft were taunting the ride op to hit us and he went "Okay, 3-2-1 ..." then of course nothing happened. So I just assumed the ride ops had no control over those. Honestly I would love to just get hit by several times in that section like Captain Nemo mentioned. It's kind of a bummer to not get hit with anything there, which was often the case even with the guest controls there, since the average person, presumably, only wants to hit people they know.

It seems like it to me too but it could be in my head. Its not like FoF was ever not rough. I actually love the ride but wish it were more feasible to fix.

My last ride on Banshee was in the backseat and was remarkably bad. I had some fairly smooth rides on it last season but now I don't know what to think. I wonder if need to bring in B&M and sort out what's going on with it because a B&M invert shouldn't be like that.

In my experience, kids just get frustrated with the guns on Boo Blasters. I know modern thinking is that all kids are constantly playing games all the time and have some level of ADHD requiring interaction but reality says otherwise.

I think most of us agree that we want to keep the experience of walking through that tunnel-like entrance. However, that can be kept while still giving us a nice looking facade, instead of having a bunch of plain roofing shingles that they just cover with a large banner.

To expand on this: try Racer first since the line will almost certainly be shorter and move faster. If you can get on that, you can get on The Beast. Backlot Stunt Coaster can be pretty tight too, very similar to Flight of Fear. As far as flat rides: you almost certainly won't get on Drop Tower, to be honest, but everyone is built different so I can't say 100%. Delirium has a test seat to try. Other rides can vary. Some of the older flat rides are very tight but WindSeeker I believe to be pretty roomy.

Well they were offering a "free upgrade," so they aren't actually making any money on those of us with an existing drink plan.

You can always hope that KI gets the last remaining Bayern Kurve in the country.
