  1. I'd be for a Top Scan. A Screamin Swing could work in Rivertown. How about just more covered flat rides that protect from rain? The park lacks those.
  2. I didn't quite get to see the full show but was rather on Diamondback when it started and got a great view of the drones first couple of displays on the lift hill. They seem to be really leaning on the Brady Bunch connection. They played "Sunshine Day" in The Racer station and I questioned if anyone else in the station had any idea what it was.
  3. Checked it out today. Pretty nice. A couple of the stones are broken though.
  4. I believe there was the Wheel of Fortune (Trabant) where Linus Launchers currently is when that was still part of Rivertown. It predates me, but you can see it in footage like the Brady Bunch episode
  5. Every coaster built in the 80s is gone, sadly.
  6. I'm not a fan of shooting dark rides in general, though I understand the appeal for kids. I just want good scenery and atmosphere. Any time I'm on an "interactive" ride, there's nothing memorable about it.
  7. Airtime Thrills is one of my favorite Youtube coaster channels and he started working recently on a KI history series. Episode 1 just released. He's a guy that grew up with SF Magic Mountain (did a nice history of that one already) and now lives in Oklahoma. So its interesting to see the history told by someone who didn't grow up with it like many of us. EDIT: Be warned that he has a very quickfire style where he basically lists off events and quotes.
  8. Perhaps related to the preparations to reopen White Water Canyon? Does it drain into the same lagoon?
  9. The geese (at least the adult ones) will eventually make it clear that you should leave them alone. But yeah, I don't get why people aren't content just watching them from a safe distance.
  10. I agree with this. Seems like the major CF parks will have at least one big gap between coasters every ten years or so. CP hasn't opened a new coaster since 2018. KI had that gap from 2009-2014 and so on (though obviously the economic downturn then and now comes into play). After the last three coasters at KI, I'm feeling bad for some other parks. I'm content with what we have even if I miss Vortex. I did enjoy it that first year as long as it was a middle seat but I convinced myself it was better than it was.
  11. Makes sense that they could be for drones and now I see what he was implying about the drones. Didn't he call Son of Beast "awesome" on national TV that one time? I should have questioned his intentions.
  12. I did wonder the other day: What are big gray shipping containers (or are they trailers? or something else?) on The Vortex-plot for? I'm not sure how to feel about Shaggy saying to have high expectations. Now I'm scared.
  13. I think that happened a couple months ago. At least Orion is complete now. I'm just upset they reverted my correction to Tom & Chee's location. EDIT: looks like they accepted the change again. I'm so relieved.
  14. Your feelings on the ride are so close to what I saw about it that I had to doublecheck that I didn't write this (and your name is kind of similar to mine). This is all pretty much exactly how I feel about the ride, except I was able to bear the roughness over the years by avoiding rough seats. That awkward, sideways, drawn-out drop into the helix is something I've always liked.
  15. Is there actually national attention on FunTime? Does the public ever really care about the manufacturer of a ride where someone died? Shouldn't that mean [insert manufacturer] would have gone out of business by now?
  16. I feel the same way. I don't ever want to pay money to call myself "important"
  17. It will be curious to see if this improves during the season. I'm more concerned about the rides speed or lack thereof in my two rides. Also, are all of the rides trims now magnetic or are there still some friction ones? I want to get a ride after a heavy rain and see what difference it makes.
  18. Would be a bit surprising. Ride has decent ridership and good capacity. Arrow mine trains seem to endure for decades.
  19. If anything it was the opposite. Everything was a walk-on or station wait by 7 or so.
  20. A few thoughts after a long, great day at KI. People do seem to be treating The Beast as the star attraction again. Area 72 has seemed less busy than last year, possibly as a result and because Orion is now in its 3rd season. Orion ride ops haven't been as strict about restraints at least for me. I've been able to get a lot of airtime on it unlike last year. Seems like they are better at keeping the Freestyle machines stocked. Last year, even on light days, the machines would be out of non-diet flavor when I went in the evening. I was stapled hard on an early ride on MT but overheard a little kid behind me say "Please don't staple me!" so I chuckled The new Racer queue config feels so weird Action Zone really needs a drink stand Staff has been outstanding so far this season Even the very back seat of The Beast is decently smooth, but those trims hit so hard. A ride op told me that they got to ride it before opening without all the trims in place.
  21. I had no idea about the stretcher. But the ride was down the rest of the day. I hope it was nothing too serious and the stretcher was more precautionary.
  22. Didn't have time to post wait times today (Thursday 5/19/22) but it was a light day despite mostly nice weather. Longest wait I had was 13 minutes for Beast (or similar for BLSC) and got a bunch of walk-ons on Orion, DB, MT, Banshee... I think its the most I've gotten done in one day in a long time, if not ever. One downside: Beast was closed in the evening.
  23. I heard this spot is going to be used for the queue for the now canceled Knott's giga.
  24. That's not encouraging. I was going to go tomorrow and the weather is expected to be much nicer. Though as long as its better than last Friday, I won't complain.
  25. Speaking of fixes to The Beast queue: On Friday, during a really long wait for The Beast, some people got in that right lane where the sign indicates you go left for the front, right for the back and they pushed the trash bin a little further to make a little gap to get through. People naturally started following their lead and were able to bypass the switchbacks that were open on the front side of the station. I think the ops eventually went back and did something to stop it but it sounds like they either need to cover that sign up or put something else over that lane.
