  1. Why, oh why, must a discussion about a ride that is not going to be built by Intamin lead to so much Intamin-bashing? -- Beatle, who is very interested in what CP will be adding and who enjoys many Intamin rides.
  2. Well, we went and checked out the SoB station today (August 8, 2010). The side of the station nearest the brake run is completely boarded up. There are two openings on the side of the station facing FD, however, one of them is blocked by a fence. There is a third opening near the operators booth, but it is also blocked by a fence. The opening in the plywood wall at the top of the queue ramps appears to be the only way in or out of the station. It also appeared that there is at least a partial plywood wall in the middle of the station. I did not see any switchback rails in the station.
  3. Walt Disney I could write a book based on that quote....
  4. I loved SoB... --Beatle, who looks at his son wearing one of the last Son of Beast t-shirts that cost all of $2.50, and remembers Walt Disney's famous quote.
  5. Or they may be doing some work in there during the off season and they want to be able to heat it. But a Haunt attraction does seem more likely.
  6. Sadly, it seems as though some members of the media do little more than collect and recite press releases from government, political types, organizations promoting a cause, corporations, etc. Thus they act much more like stenographers than journalists. Unfortunately, when the media has to do something creative, the reader winds up getting things like this article. Just my theory...
  7. At least Sky Rocket has a "free gall." I hate it when I have to pay for those things.
  8. And Kingda Ka is "fascinating to watch from the sidelines, as its dramatic drop is definitely fascinating to watch." It's fascinating because it's fascinating. I think I'm less intelligent for having read this.
  9. Were you able to see if the switchback rails have been removed?
  10. I like Dorney Park. A lot. Nice to see CF paying some attention to it! I just hope they don't turn the very pleasant Camp Snoopy with all of the trees and shade into a concrete jungle.
  11. Coney. There is more to do there than anywhere else in the park. Top 3: 1. The Beast 2. SoB if it's running, if not, FoF. 3. Delerium.
  12. Well, it's a little late in the season to expect a new ride or anything that we can brag about. I think the best we can hope for is something like a parade, similar to CP's.
  13. Continuously stirring the waters is what trolls do, my friend. But, hey, I have always thought that this site needed a newb to appoint himself as the sites "word cop" and begin personally attacking long time members. --Beatle, who is done feeding the troll
  14. It may be possible, but the ramps to the station would not have enough room for "haunting." I think it would be better if they brought guests into the station through SoB's former exit, then scared them in the tunnel on the way out.
  15. Easy answer. CP! Although there may or may not be land issues there, CP has several older rides that have, IMO, become obsolete and could be removed and replaced by more modern attractions. --Beatle, who has had both parks as his home park at various times in his life
  16. Seriously? Parading and bragging? Promoting himself? You've obviously never had a conversation with the man. Did all of those people who were there tonight find out about the 3000th by standing around DB and counting Mr. Coleman's rides? I think not. Of course he promotes himself. He is obviously very proud of his accomplishment. Who wouldn't be? But by doing this, he opens himself up to questions about how he managed to reach his milestone. I have ridden DB so far 909 times. I am not out to make an "accomplishment"-it is immaterial to me whether I ride 10 or 10,000 times. I just happen to love the ride and figure if I'm going to ride it that much, I might as well keep count. On a personal note, DB opened just six weeks after I lost my dear mother. In a way, it has helped me to heal in dealing with my loss. My point? There are many reasons why we may engage in hobbies that you may not be aware of. Try to be a little more understanding before judging others. I have judged noone sir! I made no comment about Mr. Coleman other than he was rightfully proud of being a record holder on DB. However, his actions have invited questions like the one asked by flightoffear1996. And if Mr. Coleman was asked that question in person, I'm sure that his response would have been far more polite than yours!

  18. Apparently, this is a global phenomenon.... http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/841908/video-shows-nrl-fan-assaulting-mascot
  19. Gary Coleman needs a life. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/28/gary-coleman-dead-diffren_n_593120.html --Beatle, who never passes up the chance to make a childish pun
  20. In this case, the answer to your question is, undoubtedly, yes. The man who rides DB is not the actor. --Beatle, who, for once, knows what hes "talkin' 'bout"
  21. He is there every evening. And I don't feel that Gary owes anyone an explanation about why he rides a lot, ie whether he has a job, is retired, etc. It is nobody's business. Forgive me if I sound harsh. If you read my post in the "KIC What Happened?" thread, you will see that this is exactly what has made this site unappealling to some. Mr. Coleman has put himself in the public eye by parading around in that shirt bragging about how many times he has ridden DB and has promoted himself in the press and on the web. Questions like this are clearly fair game.
  22. Yes, I see that the post has been clarified.
  23. That would be difficult. That train is awfully long, and most of the passengers seem much more interested in getting to or from Boomerang Bay than in singing random songs.
