Look, it is capitalism, which is part of living in a free country... If I was CF and had the opportunity to buy and dismantle the closest competitor to my flagship park, I would do it in a heartbeat!! My only problem with the whole GL situation is that I miss the times that I spent living east of Cleveland with GL as my "home park" and the failure to preserve Big Dipper......

The reason I am baffled by this is because it is so unneeded.... It's Sandusky, for God's sake!! A northern climate on the water with indoor water attractions in the same city and a huge inland sea nearby. CP is a resort that draws people from all over the country, and I don't see people from far away coming to CP to ride this (especially when KD and CW are options for them next year)...... As I said in my prior post, this addition doesn't make sense, and the more I think about it, the less sense it makes.......

I look at it like this.... If I was in Cedar Fair's position, what would I have done?

IMO.... Lame!!! Cedar Point has two water rides, Soak City, and a beach on Lake Erie. And this is in Sandusky, Ohio, where it's cold most of the year. And without a new coaster next year, it will be at least four years without one. I'm sorry, but this just makes no sense to me.

We will be there on Monday with my brother who grew up on KI but now lives in Hershey PA. It should be a fun day....

WHich we did this year! The kids laughed when the horn startled them....... No matter what happens, as long as I see the fountains and the Tower when I walk in, and still get that feeling that I got in 1972 when I was 3 years old, it will always be KI to me.......

So anyone have any ideas what they will do with Scooby Doo's Haunted Castle?? A Great Pumpkin theme?

I'm looking forward to our trip to KD next year. And to riding my second Giga. But I must agree that we all have our own opinions about coasters and I have expressed my share that others disagree with. For example, after Maverick, I thought the two Intamins at Hershey Park were disappointing, although there are those who love them. But it's simply a matter of personal taste. No different than two people going out to a fine dining establishment and ordering different meals......

GB has become basically a totalitarian society since the 7/7 attack. Be glad we had 1776.....

We had to wait out 45 minutes of downtime before my kids' first dragster ride...... We were strapped in and told to get out twice! Edit: I would have preferred a rollback or two!!!

I'm speaking from my CP experiences..... Where a guest in line for Maverick said "if you're not willing to wait for downtime, you won't ride it" And almost everyone in line nodded their heads.......

If Intamin was involved. it would have as much down time as it does at the present.....LOL!!!!

We are getting nothing of significance next year! If you want something new, you will have to go to KD or Carowinds..... Or, if you believe rumors, CP!

I have lots of thoughts about this..... But, the main one right now is that CF needs to, as I tell my kids, make a decision!!!!...... And announce it and tell people why you made it!I have found in 40 years of life that doing that gains you much more respect than being indecisive.....

A waste of potential...IMO! Not that it wont be fun to ride, but HW needs to top The Voyage!!! (more than once!!) And build hotels and a casino or two.... And launch that park into legendary status....

Pics or no proof. Well, Drop Tower doesn't have an on ride photo, and, why, if I may ask, would you demand proof of the lights in the SoB station being on?

We went tonight as well. The sign being gone could possibly mean that they are renaming the ride, rather than removing it. Something like "AirTran The Ride" (for those who are old enough to remember that name change).
