  1. Whew!!! Pulling out of NASCAR and sports in general will certainly alienate a LOT of people.... I need to buy some Miller stock!!! But who knows, it does only refer to Budweiser. Maybe Natural Light will sponsor a car.
  2. Well, The Beast has a Son, and I don't remember it ever being pregnant, or sick in the mornings...... LOL!!!!
  3. On the 7 trips to CP last year, I only recall seeing one county sheriff on Route 6 and he was going west. I blew past him at 80 mph and he kept on going his own way. That road is pretty much deserted.. I think it's safe to say you can put the pedal to the metal. But I highly suggest stopping in Findlay to use the restroom and get food if you need it, no matter if you need to or not. The next station, save for lonely and somewhat shady truck stops, is about 30 miles west of Sandusky. I made the mistake of not stopping in Findlay to use the restroom.. miles and miles later on Route 6 I was dancing in my seat, highly considering just jumping out and using the ditch. A State Troopper gave me my the only speeding ticket of my life on Route 6. That was in 2001. 72 in a 55. I take Route 6 from 75 as well to get to CP. But I find it a little faster to turn left on Route 53 by Freemont and take that to the Turnpike. As for KI. 42 visits last year, mostly on weeknights. Our Saturday visits are almost always to BB. Weather permitting it will be about the same this year.
  4. That was my point, my friend... There will be things that we would never dream of today. --Beatle, who hopes to be around to ride them when he's 90 years old...LOL!!
  5. She will never be "whole" again.... Sorry for the bad pun, I really do feel bad for her!
  6. I don't think we are able to imagine that! In 1959 (50 years ago), could anyone have imagined things like Diamondback?
  7. Those wasps are on virtually every ride at the end of the summer. I'm much more scared of them than any of the rides themselves.
  8. And also remember that very few lawsuits actually proceed to trial. The vast majority are resolved through settlements.
  9. I have posted this many times before, but the first priority should be the former Flight Commander area.
  10. How much did she weigh?!?!? This is ridiculous!!! And if I was betting on whether or not she had been drinking.....
  11. Yes, middle seat of the back car on The Beast is my favorite. I've never found Mean Streak to be rough...just slow and, for lack of a better word.... suckish!!!
  12. I think "The Boss" might be more focused on his home park in New Jersey...
  13. Yeah your right though they made it seem like the big part of the ride. "85 Feet Tall" We lose perspective sometimes. Do you realize there are many, many small towns in America without a building anywhere near that tall? That's almost nine stories tall! Also remember that Raven's largest drop is 85 feet and its speed is 48mph (acording to rcdb). And, IMO, the Golden Ticket Award sign proudly displayed on its side as you walk into HW is very well deserved.
  14. They are obviously assuming that very few people in the Kansas City area are old or well-traveled enough to notice what is, to us, a shameless copy...
  15. Is there a way to download audio from that site? Its on youtube too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxXkUz2MZTw
  16. I haven't been to Vegas since I got married there on March 7, 1998. Yes, anniversary is Saturday.... We didn't make it to any rides while we were there. (Yes my oldest is 10...LOL!!)
  17. This year, like last, we will go to KI, Cedar Point, Strickers Grove (the kids' baseball league has their awards presentation there) and Holiday World. We have always said that, once they are both 54 inches tall, Great Adventure is the first item on our agenda. I really want to ride EL Toro and Nitro. Magic Mountain is a future dream as well. We have family in PA who we will probably visit this summer, so Dorney Park, Hershey Park and Kennywood are things we will make an effort to do this season!
  18. Drop Tower. I'm always so glad when that thing finally drops me. Which is exactly what I'm afraid of on the way up. That's why phobias are defined as irrational fears, I suppose.
  19. I will take the traditional first ride on The Beast. It has been the first ride of my season (not always on opening day) for many years. As much as I want to ride DB, I just can't bring myself to go anywhere but straight to The Beast when I get to KI. As I've said on here before, if I didn't ride The Beast first, I would feel like I was cheating on my wife. lol!
  20. The 30th birthday of The Beast makes me feel old..... I remember standing in line in 1979 in brutal heat, stcking my chewed gum on a tree, getting a drink at a concession stand, waiting through all of the switchbacks over a lake, throwing pennies into water flowing through the theming, and finally getting the thrill of that first drop (the world's largest at the time)..... No seatbelts, no seat dividers, soft seats.... The two tunnels in the middle, which are now one...
  21. And there will be those employees from other countries who will be pleased to welcome you to "Genimi"......
  22. As I have said before, imagine those lights being purple during The Haunt......
  23. Glad you had a good time. If I had a date and could eat White Castle without getting heartburn, I would do the same thing!!
  24. I like these... I have mine on right now...
  25. Our record is only 8. We got 4 night rides in a row that night when noone was in line..... Started at about 9:15, then took the last ride after the fireworks.
