  1. So, did you enjoy Delirium? I think its a very fun little ride !
  2. I agree and disagree with you (for the first time ever). Pay per ride would cost me a fortune!!! I have 2 kids so it would be pay 3 times a ride for people like me.... But before season passes, I must agree that the one or two visits a year were very, very special. That feeling I had as a child is something that I have never lost, no matter how many times I see an amusement park on the horizon. But if it wasn't so special for me as a child, I wouldn't be where I am today!!!
  3. Those passes with your picture pasted on the card... We always went to The Beast first though....
  4. To my kids, the "male privates game" is walking into or out of the park in front of me and trying to snap the turnstyle so it strikes me in a VERY uncomfortable manner.... The first time they did that, it actually worked... While they laughed hysterically, I was actually kind of proud of their creativity. But I would NEVER tell them that....
  5. 1. For me October turned out to be the best month. The weather was relatively nice for this time of the year, and my kids got to experience the Haunt for the first time. I like things like that. But, as I often do, I accept that bittersweet feeling that comes as they grow up. 2. Nostalgia was ok this year. Seeing the clown band, riding The Racer forward again, the Wallenda and Kneivel events and the Bradys were all very nice. 3. SoB had its best year ever. It was very enjoyable for me and the kids, and moving the onride photo was much needed. As for thrill rides, I must say Delerium, but only because my kids were able to ride it for the first time. 4. HH was good, as always. I've always liked it and this year was no different. 5. Best food? As always..... Funnel Cakes!!!! 6. The best crew was The Beast, by far!!!! Several of the workers, in particular Lauren and Stephen, knew my kids by name. They were very good kids and a credit to the park!!!! Lauren even approached and said hello to the boys when she was at the park and not working on the day Diamondback was announced. I appreciated that very much!!!! 7. Only rode The Crypt once. Compared to Tomb Raider I thought it was a tie. 8. My favorite show was County Line. The female singers were very talented. The girl in the white shirt had a better voice than anyone I think I have ever heard at a KI show. 9. The best thing that happened at Kings Island this year? HMMM... This year and every year my answer is that I got to spend time there!!!!!!!!!!! 10. The best change, IMO was removing those annoying fences from The Beast's entrance, which, ironically, I will only see a few more times.... It will be sorely missed....... 11. I recently had my first anniversary as a member of KIC, so for me it was the best by default....LOL!!!! 12. For me, 2008 was great for the park, the wonderful events and finally moving into the 21st century with DB. But for me, 2007 was the first year I got to ride coasters with my kids..... No year at the park will ever top that!! But this was a great year!!! Thank you all for adding to it!!!
  6. My point exactly.... Some people are much better at "big picture" management than they are "in the trenches"... We all have different talents, after all....
  7. Nothing wrong with that. Reward a loyal employee and improve the park.... Sounds like nothing more than a wise business decision.
  8. Maybe that's why they "promoted" him.....
  9. We do not hold on when riding roller coasters!!! As I have said on here before, my kids never touched the restraints on MF on their very first ride. As for me, the boys made fun of me when I put my hands down to steady myself on The Voyage.... But on drop rides, I hold on....
  10. I know a girl from Cleveland who I never thought was all that big who didn't fit on MF this year......
  11. We rode Raven with our arms up several times with our arms up and walked away without a scratch or any pain whatsoever. On The Legend, however, my keys were between my leg and the seat divider. I thought, "That's going to leave a mark." I was right....
  12. When they use the little hand held things to scan your pass, it apparently doesn't add to the count that shows up on the screen when you go through the line.... o our count would be 38 at KI, 4 at CP and one each at Holiday World and Strickers Grove......
  13. When I was in high school at the park, a little kid told me that my pants were unzipped.... I heard about that from my friends for a very long time
  14. Well, this year for me wasn't the same as last year because 2007 will always be the year that my kids first discovered that they had inherited their father's love for roller coasters and KI.... But this year has been very, very special as well.... But when I go to my office and see the on ride photo of their first Beast ride where they look SO scared next to the on ride photo of their last Beast ride of 2007 with their hands in the air, I don't know if a year like 2007 can, for me, ever be topped.....
  15. Yes, it has been wonderful!!! We were there in heavy clothes when they dropped the rope on April 20 and we will be taking the last Beast ride of the year, again in heavy clothes, around closing time on November 2. This season would not have been nearly as great as it was without this site and all of you. Thank you all!!!
  16. Yes. it was always open and provided a nice view of the water that used to be there.
  17. Yes. you are right. Kids have to do thrill rides at their own pace. If I've learned anything while raising kids, it is that they always resent being forced to do anything. (But, of course, they must be forced to do those things that are for their own good). And I have never forced mine to ride anything that they are afraid of, and I never would. My point is that you make perfect sense and I understand the feelings that you are conveying, having experienced them myself many times.
  18. I love watching Sponge Bob!! The "negative" humor from Mr. Krabs and Squidward often goes right over my kids' heads!!! I am laughing while they're asking what's so funny.......
  19. So.... what would that record be? I believe that I could find a way to beat it..... Although I probably wouldn't do it myself!! --Beatle, whose kids will eventually outdo him someday, and are actively trying already......
  20. I loved your TR. You are about 2 years behind me, my sons are 8 and 9.... Once he hits that 48 inch mark, it will be very special. Mine both did last year, but I had to buy my youngest bigger shoes to push him over that last quarter of an inch. Watching them experience the rides for the frist time was just very, very special.... Now they are both fearless (except my oldest won't do Drop Tower). Your TR reminds me a lot of mine. I wish you and your son a lifetime of happiness at KI, other parks, and elsewhere.
  21. When I was in High School, I worked selling Christmas trees outside for two seasons. Talk about COLD!!!! I still have my beat up, out of style, puffy, down filled coat from those days though... which has served me well many times.
  22. Last year it was all Paramount stuff and things that had the 2007 date printed on them.... Got my kids two shirts each for $10.00. They had nothing left in my size though. But back on topic, I don't think VF is going anywhere. SR&R, Dodge 'Ems, and Zypher (which was open last Friday), have also been closed during the Haunt, but, for whatever reason, there has been no speculation about those rides......
  23. Anything under about 65 is too cold for my liking. But I can tolerate cold temps at KI as long as there's not a lot of wind.
  24. Last year at this time, the paramount t-shirts were 2 for $5.00.......
