  1. You will note, mine was a simply factual report. When it comes to my opinion of that particular CF policy, I remember what my mother always told me: "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"
  2. Yes they did....There were yellow jackets all over those trees in the late summer............
  3. There are those who are designated as "security" and those who are designated as "Kings Island Police" . The ones who are "police" are absolutely REAL!!! police officers who have been through the police academy and have the same training and authority as any other police officer in the State of Ohio.
  4. Actually, I believe it was outside of white water canyon, while your standing in line. There was one there too...... The one by The Beast was where the privacy fence by TC now stands. But I do remember the one by WWC too...... Apparently sticking gum on trees was quite a fad in years gone by......
  5. If you look carefully, you could probably find half consumed Cokes left on tables, with ice still in them! Think of the money you could save. Add a half eaten hamburger, a few left over fries.... Or you could pick them out of the trash..........In my humble opinion, I'll spend the 7 dollars as opposed to drinking a stranger's backwash......
  6. The tables behind the funnel cake shop in Rivertown are usually pretty isolated and private. You can also sneak back by the old Flight Commender/Zodiac queue behind Speed Pitch in Coney..... And, probably the best, behind the curtains in those little photo booths (just don't get your picture taken...LOL).
  7. 1. That tree with all the gum stuck on it outside of The Beast. 2. King Cobra 3. Sky Ride 4. The Air Show 5. And, of course, Bavarian Beetle..LOL!!!!
  8. On Adventure Express you are rarely "stuck" on the second lift hill. It usually stops automatically because the trains in front of you are still in the blocks. And I got a kick out of Invertigo being stuck upside down. I'm sorry, but that simply isn't possible.
  9. I checked today. The sign at the front locker/stroller rental area by the Kings Island Theater says you can check packages for $5.00.
  10. we got there between 5:30 and 6:00 and the security person at the metal detectors told us they were closing at 7:00. There was almost noone there so low attendance was obviously the main factor in the closing. They also apparently looked at the radar because when we left at 7 it was raining pretty hard. We got drenched on the way to the car.
  11. Camping in the park would be so cool. Kind of like camping on the infield of a NASCAR track, which I've done many times. Walking out of a camper or tent and seeing the track, grandstands, etc. in a silent sunrise was always awesome. Waking up to coasters and silent rides in the early morning fog in the summer would be even better.
  12. Which is something a lot of people don't realize. That is one of TimberWolf's Claims to fame. That's really cool!!! It needs to be included in the History pages here on KIC.
  13. I agree thqt Wings is the best place to eat. It is $15 per person, but you get a salad, nachos, entre, drink and desert. If you bought an order of nachos, a salad, a meal with fries, a drink and an ice cream separately, the $15 price is very competitive. And, if you have kids, they have vegetables and other things that are not just grease and sugar, as well as a wide selection so you don't get stuck paying for something that the kids (and/or adults) don't like and you wind up throwing away. As for SOB, it is a more intense than The Beast and much smoother than the old days. I think its a fun ride and worth riding.....
  14. Willie Nelson is 75....Sigh. Amazing!! The comment about showing my age has to do with my looming 40th birthday and realizing that many of the members of these boards were not even born in 1982. Back on topic though, I remember that I had a lot of fun that day/night riding The Beast, Bat (yes, it was running that day), Screamin' Demon, Racer, KCKC, Antique Cars, Eagles, etc. All in all, one of my favoriite days at the park from when I was young.....
  15. I think Timberwolf's days are numbered. With the limited number of events, I believe it is just a matter of time until it is decided that the space could be put to better use. I only went to one concert there: Joan Jett & The Blackhearts in 1982. First concert I ever went to........ (Showing my age now)
  16. My advice is go in order of the rides and don't waste time walking around looking for a short line. By the time you find a short one, you could have been through a long one!! I will be there Sunday and probably Friday night. (Saturday is for housework and errands)
  17. I couldn't agree more! I smoke and always follow the rules, so it makes me particularly angry when I see people who don't. If only I wasn't afraid of a confrontation in front of my kids, I would say something to these people......
  18. Very true, my most recent memories are of the end of the season when "burn out" becomes a factor...... But I have been very impressed with the staff so far. Several have actually gone out of their way to say nice things to my children.
  19. I agree. The Red Racer is smoother than it has been in a long time. And, I must confess, I expected the park to be pretty much the same as last year, but there are a number of thinge that have improved. For example, the food at Wings, the retracking on Racer, the politeness of the workers, the cleanliness of the park, shows in Festhaus..... All little things, I know, but all pleasant surprises......
  20. I remember that too, except for the entrances and exits being reversed, which I don't remember. I was only 3 when the park opened, but I do remember wishing I was tall enough to ride it, so my memory is pretty good, I guess. I probably rode it for the first time in about 1974 or 75 when I was (FINALLY) tall enough. It was on what is the blue side now and I was scared to death!!! I quickly got over that though.... And you mention the airtime.... I remember floating so far out of the seat that when you got to the bottom of the hills, that bar would hit you on the top of the thighs and knock you back into the seat. (If all of the younger folks who grew up in the seatbelt era can actually imagine that) I had visible bruises across my thighs more than once on days after visiting the park. That, unfortunately, is impossible now....
  21. Don't count on The Beast lake making a return anytime soon. From looking around Rivertown, I would say that CF has other priorities in regard to construction in that area.......
  22. Yep. You are purchasing a license to use the parks property. They have every right to set the conditions of the licenses they grant. They can refuse admission to anyone as long as it isn't based on race, gender, religion, etc. So, I would tell the writer of that column, "Change your shirt and quit your whining!!!!!!"
  23. As long as I'm not baking in the sun in 95 degree heat, I enjoy the view.............
  24. This weeks contribution Male guest (talking about Vortex): I think its really cool to ride it at night Female Guest: Does it still go upside down at night?
  25. What about Bavarian Beetle???? Sorry I just had to add that
