Weather will be the main factor. If it rains and/or snows all day, obviously very few people will be there. It's been awhile since I actually went on an Opening Day. I'm looking forwrd to it more than my kids......

KICentral Takes You Back To 1972
BavarianBeatle replied to Dane's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Those were great. I remember reading those old park brochures when I was just old enough to read. I also remember saving Top Value stamps for Kings Island tickets every year. Also, I had forgatten that Flying Dutchman was not an original attraction and that Swan Lake used to have a bridge over it. Also, the open spaces where Action Zone and Vortex are always amaze me for some reason. -
Let's all just face it, if we remember the Red and Blue Racers and both sides gong forward, were up there....But at least I can say (for a few more months) that I'm not 40 yet... I'm editing this: My 9 year old just read this post and asked if I was posting in "Rumors"........

Will Bubba Gump's Name Change? Now Confirmed
BavarianBeatle replied to coaster_junky's topic in Kings Island
But if they change the name of Bubba Gump, will they change the food too? And, I remember catching crawdads too. AHHH, the days before cable tv and video games........ -

I went to the old KI and the new.....There;s no difference....... I see the look in my kids' eyes now and its the same as mine was when I was a kid......... They love the park, and so do I. That feeling is and always has been the same..........
-
Yep. I have both the Namco and Atari Playstation disks...... Those games that used to fill an entire room now fit on 2 little CD's...
-
KI's website does say Intamin. But I've always found Interp to be more reliable.......
-
Are Jagger and company still stoners? or just drunks?....It's hard to keep up with which substances are being abused by which celebrities...... Oh well, let's just wait for the "Mick Jagger hooks up with Brittney Spears" rumors........
-
But then again, I sometimes watch the Pink Panther cartoons with my kids..... It has very primitive animation and no voices, just music, and we all laugh hysterically..........
-
Star Wars!!!! They could do so much with that!! From the 7 foot tall Darth Vader mascot (and stormtroopers, Yoda, Chewbacca, R2D2, C3PO, Ewoks for the little kids) to the Mos Eisley Cantina Band playing on the bandstand...Not to mention the new Millenium Falcon hyperspace launch coaster that incorporated the asteroid field scene from Episode V; pod racer 3D theater from Episode I; and the Utapau fifty story drop ride based on Episode III....... And, from an admitted "Star Wars Geek" to all you "Trekies" out there, the Enterprise could NEVER have skimmed the bottom of that trench and fired two proton torpedoes down that little shaft and destroyed the first Death Star!!!! Star Wars Rules!!!!!! (This is meant in good fun before anyone attacks me:)).

It has to be...They cannot include an image that is not owned by Nick within Nick Universe. Thinking about the legalities of that for even a few seconds gives me a headache...
-
It has been marked on my calendar since the schedule was announced. Can't wait to get on The Beast first thing......
-
What was that? A skunk? I'm sure they are around there but I've never seen one, thank god...... To me the only animals that bother me at KI are the wasps that were all over the tops of the rides at the end of the year. CF, I must say, did a very good job of keeping the garbage cans clean so there weren't yellow jackets all over them during the late summer like there were when Paramount ran the park........
-
Mine was a fantasy too...... I'm glad I'm not the only one who will not get married again...... Thanks!!!!
-
I enjoyed it personally. Being into nature I have some great family time memories of it. The highlight though was last summer-seeing a deer on The Beast. That was a thrill. I saw a possum in line for The Beast this year. A deer would have been wonderful...... A bunch of teenage girls were screaming "look at the size of that rat!!!" It was just a possum that wandered out of the woods....It was entertaining..... I have also wondered if anyone else knew that there was a groundhog living under the spot where Vortex enters the station at the end? We saw it several times when the park wasn't crowded.

You are like my youngest son. That kid fears nothing!!! I know that the fear of heights is a phobia (i.e. an irrational fear), but the adrenaline rush after that fear is overcome is wonderful.........
-
Couldn't have put it better. Like I always tell my kids; "If you're not scared, it's not fun"
-
..which is kind of the way the ride opened on media day. For some reason, most of the couples were on the hefty side..so much so that some were not allowed to re-ride later in the day! I hope that isn't a comment about my taste in women...
-
Drop Tower. Say the vows on the way up and then kiss the bride after the ride is over. No wonder I'm not married...................
-
I think we should all be grateful that they kept one Scooby attrction to preserve the history of the park. I loved H-B when I was a kid, but today's kids like Nick......So I hope today's kids think of the park with Nick in the same way as I did with H-B. And I also hope that my ch8ildren still love the park when THEY are nearly 40..... Change is inevitable, but not necessarily bad..........
-
I must say that I prefer Tumble Bug to what is at that location now....... I can also say that about Zodiac and the Eagles...... But NOT the canoe ride.......
-
Monroe, I like your posts and I hope that I have never said anything to you, or anyone else, that would be construed as "throwing insults". I remember our posts in other threads, and I hope that you and I can respectfully "agree to disagree" without this being personal as it seems to be with others on here........
