  1. The copyright thing is a good question. But many people sell old movie posters and similar items on the internet without getting into any trouble......
  2. Yeah, what is the deal with that parking lot policy? What is the point of making everyone come in then drive back across the lot then sit in traffic while everyone with a pass turns down that first aisle and creates a bottleneck at the end of that row, the exact spot where there is a stop sign and many pedestrians. Then you drive between the entrance and gold pass lot where people are trying to cross the driveway. It has always seemed dangerous to me to direct the flow of vehicle traffic directly through the flow of pedestrian traffic as opposed to letting people come straight into the gold pass area.
  3. What restraunt at KI is that from, it sounds good! He must have went to Wings Buffet. From the new sign out front, they had Pot Roast and Sliced Turkey on the buffet now so we HAD to try it out. I am telling you, if the buffet is like this EVERYDAY, then this is the best bang for the buck. I was VERY impressed. A very big step in the right direction! They even have an Ice Cream bar in it now! I was also impressed with Wings. My son liked the popcorn shrimp and I thought the wider selection this year was a huge!! improvement. Also, all of the food was well stocked and fresh, believe it or not. I will be eating there again. Absolutely the best food value in the park. The only problem was getting the kids to eat vegetables instead of "all you can eat" pudding...LOL
  4. Third car from the back, I believe. Middle and back seats of the car.
  5. We were with you until you went to Firehawk. We went to BLSC. That pass line was enormous. Around 12:30 it was all the way into the parking lot to the point that the end of the line was even with the parked Kings Island Resort bus. Glad we got ours early too. And, btw there are 2 footings by the crypt. And another huge one right behind the fence next to Antique Photo (to the right as you face the building). We also rode the train and there are construction flags on trees all the way back to where the train crosses Whitewater Canyon. There were a couple on trees right up to the edge of WWC. And, yes, we were on the Red Racer train that got stuck on the lift hill this morning.
  6. I am sorry to hear that you had to go through this so early in your life together. Since you have been through it, and please feel free to not answer if you don't want to, what do you believe is an acceptable amount of time for a grieving period? Honestly, I don't think I can answer that because it depends on the person. Some people are stronger than others, and the loss of a spouse is probably the ultimate test of your strength, faith, etc... The only other site I've ever been a member of was widownet and, as a result of communicating with a lot of other widows, I think that it is an individual experience for every person who has to go through it. (Especially since there aren't a whole lot of support resources for young widows). There is no set timetable. You never really "get over it" completely, but, as the song by My Chemical Romance says, you learn to "carry on" (My theme song for tomorrow). I hope that answers your question. Feel free to PM me anytime. I can explain further there.......
  7. I had a pair of Sketchers sandals that lasted for several years and were perfectly comfortable. Tomorrow I will wear New Balance. Their 9 1/2, 4E's fit my feet like a glove........
  8. I grew up where you live, Vortex, so I know that you are getting up early tomorrow Sleep well, if you can. See you tomorrow...... I'll be the single Dad with the two boys.
  9. Eight years ago I lost my wife suddenly. I can assure you all....two weeks isn't enough........ I will think of her often tomorrow at the park with our children.
  10. Excellent photos!!! Can't wait until tomorrow. My kids will probably have me up at 5 am, like Christmas morning.......
  11. Very changeable. If the sun is out its 75. If not, it's 50, or lower. And 75 on Monday doesn't mean it won't snow on Friday. And snow on Monday doesn't mean it wont be 75 on Friday. And its usually windy........ The weather is very unstable around here this time of year.
  12. Despite my former proposal, I think "Problem Child" by AC/DC would be perfect for Son of Beast......... Hasn't it always kind of been one?
  13. It's Ohio in April.......need anyone say more?
  14. Channel 9, as of now, says low of 45 on Sunday morning, high of 69 in the afternoon, with a 40 percent chance of rain, mostly in the morning and sun in the afternoon. Not perfect, but good enough for me!!!
  15. or arthritis later in life..... I've known people with arthritis from old injuries that didn't heal properly. Trust me, you don't want that.
  16. For a start: 1. Forward racer T-shirts, souvenier cups, shot glasses, mugs, lunch boxes, action figures (I'm kidding now, but you get the point), etc., etc, etc.... 2. People replacing their paramount merchandise with merchandise sporting the new "nostalgic" logo. 3. People buying food and drinks from "nostalgic" locations instead of eating in their cars. 4. Not to mention increased attendance and people spending more time in the park due to the new nostalgia (an oxymoron, I know)...... Not that this is bad at all!!! As fans of the park, we all have a strong interest in its profitability. We don't want Mason to ever have to think about changing its name to Aurora South, if you know what I mean............
  17. I played football for two days with two fractures in my wrist when I was in high school until the trainer barred me from practice unless I had a doctor's note. The doctor told me not to play and that if I had reeceived a similar injury while playing with the fractures, my wrist could have been shattered. The moral of the story is ask your doctor and follow his or her advice!!!!!!
  18. My guess is they're banking (literally) on people paying MORE for the nostalgia. This is a business after all..........
  19. But, while we're riding them, will the names really matter?
  20. But, as you say, "rules and policies can and do change".......
  21. This should answer every question in this thread. LOL!!!!
  22. Yes, even Son of Beast..... I actually enjoyed it at the end of last year. Hopefully they have improved it even more.....
  23. At this point, I don't care about the logo (I do think it looks ok though). I just want to ride it. And everything else, for that matter......
  24. I overheard two hillbillies today saying that they turned The Racer around because someone was killed on the backward side. It wasn't worth saying anything to them.......
  25. Kind of... Screamin' Demon was in the general vicinity of what we now call Action Zone. Right. I would say Amazon Falls replaced Screamin' Demon in the same way Delerium replaced King Cobra. As I recall, Demon ran roughly parallel to the back of Timberwolf. So Amazon Falls occupied part of the site, but not all of it. And, I do remember the monkeys and the netting used to keep them off of the ride. And I remember that there were carp in the water similar to the lake by the former Bubba Gumps.
