  1. lol... The story behind Bucky The Vortex Riding Beaver is totally unrelated to Cedar Fair or Cedar Point. I'm not 100% sure about the name - but I am pretty certain it also had nothing to do with Cedar Fair... Its a true story about hardship and the struggle for coexistance between a CLC who just reached her prime and a wood eating mammal.
  2. Face/Off, Drop Zone, Flight of Fear and Tomb Raider: The Ride get the longest waits. It depends on when you go though.
  3. At Busch Gardens, they have rules against cameras out on the midway. Thats right. I read about some guy who was taking photos of Sheikra - and a security guard came up to him and told him that taking photographs of their rides was prohibited. Think I read that on TPR.
  4. Pat was out there greeting people in the morning. It's so cool that the owner of the park would take her time to do that every day.
  5. Yeah I remember seeing those shirts - but they used to say Paramount's on them.
  6. I think I noticed it sometime around opening weekend.
  7. Legend's lift. I had an AWESOME ride in the back seat of Legend. Kringle's pizza - best in park food ever! They still have that dive show thing going on... Liberty Launch was a ton of fun! Got my pins! Best wood coaster ever. After my second ride on it - I decided it is my #2 overall. Grandma + Animatronic = Granimatronic! The airtime is rediculous. The rides all shut down for rain and lightning when I was NEXT in line for my 3rd Voyage ride... It poured... They got holi-soaked! I didn't. Goodbye Holiday World! Thanks for a great day and a great ride!
  8. After hearing so much about Voyage - and getting some random time off work - I asked my friend Jeff if he wanted to go down to Holiday World. He said sure - so we decided to go Thursday 10 August. I asked my grandma to go down too since she had never been. So Wednesday night we figured out our itenerary and headed on down Thursday morning. The drive to Holiday World was nice - save for some really bad roads in Louisville. We played my usual "going to PKI music" Journey to The Island from the Jurassic Park soundtrack. Played it too soon though - so it didn't end up synching up with HW coming over the horizon. Oh well. We were shocked when we saw Voyage. It looks like a steel supported woodie in the photos. But in real life it looks so insane... First thing we headed to Revolution. It still makes me sick. When we got off we noticed Voyage was running with people on it - so we ran down there. It had about a 20 minute line - but we got in line and waited extra for the front seat. We were both so excited for it - but so nervous. The ride looks awesome. And it is. Voyage is the most intense and insane ride I have ever been on. It is way more twisted than Flight of Fear, and has three times the airtime as Magnum. I was expecting Magnum style airtime. Nothing could prepare me for Voyage airtime. It is ejector all the way, in the front seat. It really helped too that I wasn't stapled. I have to be stapled to ride Beast and Racer at Kings Island. At Holiday World I left my bar up and the operators pushed it down. So I ended up having some space between my lap and the bar. That made the airtime so much better. Theres so much time where you aren't even in your seat. I don't even know how else to describe Voyage. It is by far the best wooden coaster I have ever been on. One thing I do need to say about Voyage is that it was rough. Not just forceful - but actually rough. It wasn't as bad as Beast in the back - but wasn't as smooth as Beast in the front. But the roughness with the forcefulness of the ride - combined with such a sick layout makes it one FREAKING AMAZING ride. Next we rode Legend. I again let the staff - this time a supervisor - put my bar down. He pushed it down till it touched my lap, but it popped back up a little bit. Like I probably could have got another click if he would have stapled me - but he didn't. Thing was this restraint was REALLY wobbly - like you could jiggle it and it looked like it was about to fall off. If I pushed the restraint to the right I had about 2 inches of space between my lap and the bar. If I pushed it to the left I had about 6. This made for an airtime filled back seat ride - even with the seat belt ultra-tight. After Legend we rode Raven. It was ALOT better than last year. This time it actually had insane airtime and an ultra intense ride. And I didn't even ride in the back! I rode in the back row of the car in front lf the last car - 42 i think. It was such a good ride - but still not better than Legend - and Raven you can't even compare to Voyage. We went over to Thunder Bumpers and Liberty Launch, then rode Gobbler Getaway. Gobbler is really corny - but ok I guess. One more ride on Voyage. It did away with any uncertainty I had about the ride - and took a solid hold on my #2 spot. Sorry - I like Raptor better. We were about to run around and do a third ride on Voyage since it had less than a five minute line - but it started storming and the park closed when I was next in line. We headed home about 5pm. I was only there about 5.5 hours but had such a good time. I spent more time on the road than I did in the park - but it was well worth it. I can't believe how good Voyage is... Anyways - time to put the Photo in Photo TR! TheKlockster We were all in shock when we saw this. Parking lot was packed... ...but we parked right up front thanks to my grandma! We just about DIED when we saw this!!! No Legend??? No Voyage!!!??? Ah - "will open late". Wow its a scale model of a roller coaster! Actually Raven this year was AMAZING - where last year it was just OK. It definately earned some points this year. Yeah so I wore my Son of Beast pin. Son of Beast got a real inferiority complex. Just look at the bloodshot eyes!
  9. You should use imageshack.us for your pics cause Yahoo sucks - and will not allow linking.
  10. IM Captain Nemo. He is an RCT3 God among Man...
  11. I got them in the emporium and they are 4.99 each. They are really hard to find. I looked but didn't find them - so I had to ask. They are on one of those little spinny things toward the middle section of the store.
  12. I'll cut straight to the pics. Face/Off was stuck when I got there. Son of Beast - Handle With Care! Poor sonny... Son of Beast has a tarp over the train now. Random guy chilling out on a countertop of a Coney Mall game. New green boxes in the Top Gun station showing operator positioning for dispatch, courtesy of Cedar Fair, L.P. Vortex got them too... Good ole bucky got a ride on The Vortex as well! :airtimer: You said Carl Eichelman... Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Stayin alive... Stayin alive! Yeah Beast got Cedar Fair'd too... Face/Off got some pink seats!!! :br I added a couple pins to my new collection.
  13. This was taken July 16th... Turns out it was just broken. Still funny though.
  14. They have some themed spiels. I still love the one from Legend. Scream your head off, but don't ask why or the headless horseman might pass you by; and as you race around the twisted track, whatever you do - DONT LOOK BACK!
  15. Snakes on a roller coaster train! There's a snake in the train Jacques! I hate snakes!
  16. Wow if you're driving that far - I would just day trip it. I live like 180 miles from CP - and I daytrip'd it once and another time stayed the night up there.
  17. Parking won't be included. I paid 107 for my pass this year - and 30 for parking. Next year I figure it will be like about the same - but about 70 for parking. The all CF pass will probably be like 200 - and I will get it unless there is a Ohio pass that is cheaper. Ill gripe about the price, and be mumbling as I fork over the cash - but I just can't be "out". I can't stay away.
  18. That is such a random combination. That's like - I am going to Kennywood next week and thought about hitting Six Flags Great America while I was at it. The fair was probably more thrilling than Coney anyway. The Space Roller looks great.
  19. You asked where the pins are, they are in the store next to the Girl Space next to the Keyhole photo on the right when you enter. The pins a near the cash register on the side of a display booth that also has T-Shirts and Italian Job mugs I belive. No they only have the big Top Gun The Jet Coaster pins there. The GOOD pins like for Beast, Vortex SDATHC etc are in Emporium, in the middle section of the store. Theres like a register there but its not used. The pins are on a spinny thing by the window.
  20. Kentucky Kingdom has some Pentax Photo Spots. They are actually quite good.
  21. For purposes of the continuing inspection, part of it needs to be torn down, rebuilt and tested. Then AFTER all that happens they will determine if the ride can reopen or not. After they get that go-ahead from the state - Cedar Fair can determine whether or not to reopen it. But they can't decide one way or another until it is rebuilt and tested. And it will be done - regardless of whether Cedar Fair intends to scrap the ride or reopen it.
  22. I collect pins. I just started collecting them when I bought a Raptor pin up at Cedar Point. I wish I had bought more... At PKI I just yesterday found where all the pins are. There are so many! I bought a Vortex pin and a Son of Beast pin - since those are my two favorite coasters at Kings Island.
