Son of Beast To Be Partly Rebuilt
TheKlockster replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
The ride needs to be redone then. But WILL it be? That is the question... -
Because the gates are electric and not penumatic - and stupid guests pushing on them breaks them really really really easy - causing the whole ride to shut down.
-
Cedar Point has them on their coasters.

I tried channeling the creative ability of Ron Toomer to make a No Limits Corkscrew type coaster - but it didn't work. For one I don't have any of those fancy track smoothing tools. And for two - I had the whole idea wrong. I set out to make a coaster Ron Toomer would love - but then he doesn't ride coasters. I feel he was on the verge of his best creation yet - and it was never realized.

Too tacky? In Vegas? It was supposed to be an Arrow too! I miss teh t00mz!

Me and so many others want King Cobra back!
TheKlockster replied to beastrider5334's topic in Kings Island
I have alot of bizarre dreams - and the other day I dreamt that King Cobra was still there - with Delirium in the middle of the helix. Apparently it had been there all along and nobody noticed. I went and rode it - and then went to Festhaus where they were serving school cafeteria style lunches. -
Um.... This is a Fear Fest idea?
-
I always ask the two supervisors who are out at greeter if the ride will be running that day. Then again every time I have been there - someone I know has been at greeter.

Face/Off has the exact same sign/arch as Sledgehammer at PCW. The box at Son of Beast is awesome - even if it isn't animated. I think it isn't animated anymore because Son of Beast is supposed to be broken out - and on the prowl. I guess he must have been taken out by poachers or something...

Demon Drop is very good... If you have No Limits - one of the coasters that comes with it is called Eiffel Tower Extreme - and is actually this. It is a LSM launched B&M Strata Coaster that launches up the side of the tower, through the tower just below the observation deck, and then does a vertical drop on the other side. Then it does all kinds of other cool stuff. Now the tower they used on it is like 500 feet tall - but it gives you an idea of what a Eiffel Tower based coaster could be like. It is actually pretty cool.

Coney Island Trip
TheKlockster replied to TOPGUN1993's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
They have that deal going on up at the Ameristop by me. I think it is just for the pool. -
Skyflyer is definately scarier than Sling Shot. But both rides are awesome. After my third ride on Slingshot I realized its just plain fun. I love it. Used to be terrifyed of it though. Skyflyer is just AMAZING. You MUST do it sometime. To steal from Busch Gardens "Like Nothing Else".

King Cobra Pics I believe the last four were all taken from inside the boneyard.

There are some photos taken from inside the boneyard on RCDB.

Coney Island Trip
TheKlockster replied to TOPGUN1993's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Hence why I didn't notice them. Yeah Paul - I am pretty sure you are above 48 inches - or else I would have had to kick you off Vortex. It is a great park though. I hope you have fun. My Coney Island Photos 2005 -
I have been there on some extremely hot days - and have not seen them running. I think there are a few lines that need misters - but for the most part the park doesn't need them. I can only think of one queue line that is just brutal to wait in and that is White Water Canyon.
-
I am thinking the next time I go up it will be like during a week day in May. Also I want to wait till 2007 because the next time I go I am GOING to ride Dragster. It will probably scare the heck out of me - but I can't wait.
-
I can't ride Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster or Wicked Twister yet - although I am closer to riding them on this past trip than I was on opening day. I can ride any ride at Kings Island - but don't fit on those three. As far as the others - I just didn't have time. Both times I went up were Saturdays. Opening Day, and last Saturday. So Crowds were heavy both days.
-
Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom also had alot of misters. There were misters on the midway, and in some of the queue lines. And don't forget Mister Six!
