Coney Island Trip
TheKlockster replied to TOPGUN1993's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Coney is technically my "home park" as I live like less than 10 minutes from it. Python is fun - but its no Vortex or anything. They don't have any Tiques. And Scream Machine is great. Of course it can't hold a candle to Drop Zone - but I could still ride it all day! The Flying Bobs is another cool ride. They have a super roundup - and it is definately pretty intense. They are the only rides that make me feel sick. Coney also has a Big Eli Wheel - and it is pretty scary. I am always afraid of tippping over in it. Coney is a fun little park. I like to go after 4 cause its cheaper. It works for me since all I have to do is hop in the car and drive a few minutes to get there. But I would definately say its worth a day. You can ride all the rides and hang out at the pool and everything. -
Nice job! It had a really fun layout - and looked accurate to what B&M designs - except maybe the second vertical loop. The music is great too. I still think that No Limits makes better rides - but RCT3 is probably alot easier to use.
-
I like how everyone calls Reptar Raptor. I would like to see Kings Island some day break 320 feet! Does Cedar Fair have the cajones to build a ride TALLER than the Eiffel Tower?
-
Yall up for some serious sidewindin? There was a new one last time I was up that wasnt there opening day - but I can't remember what it said.
-
Yeah we can hope but I wouldn't look forward to it. I am expecting on paying between 180 and 200 for my pass next season. If it ends up being less - awesome. But keep in mind parking will probably be between 50 and 65 bucks. Then the pass itself will probably be 130-150 (for KI + CP + GL). But it is well worth it over buying a Kings Island pass and a Cedar Point pass. You can pretty much expect to see all "freebies" gone next year. The ERT and Bring a Friend Free will cost extra. Speed Pass will be gone totally. Parking will cost extra. And don't forget you won't be able to pre process your 2007 pass in 2006. You'll just have to wait in that hours long line opening day to get your pass processed (having just paid 10 bucks to get into the parking lot TO get your pass processed). Yeah being part of the Cedar Fair family isn't all good and no bad - but I think the good will far outweigh the bad. So I am happy about the whole thing.

It is correct - I believe they changed it back. Or at least 9:30.
-
I say they have three passes. Season Pass - 100$: Unlimited admission to Kings Island Gold Pass - 130$: Unlimited admission to Kings Island, Geauga Lake and Cedar Point Platinum Pass - 150$: Unlimited admission to all Cedar Fair parks. Then they could add a Joe Cool club to all the passes. It would be an extra cost. It would give passholders some early ride times, and one bring a friend free coupon redeemable at your home park any time during the season.

Amusement Park Ad Wars
TheKlockster replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I remember riding Twisted Twins at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom last Summer - and on the lift, I looked to the right, and RIGHT next to the lift hill, outside the park, was a sign advertising Holiday World and The Voyage. -
I am 5'6" and 250-260 depending on the day, and I can ride anything. The only questionable Shoulder Restraint for me is Drop Zone. Each seat's belt is a little different - but I can fit in most of them. Then Flight of Fear is another one I have to be stapled into. Everything else is ok.
-
Yeah but thats rediculous. The girl should not have been made to jump 8 feet. Also I would think they would just close slides that didn't have enough pressure. The heavy crowds probably just made everybody irritated in general - and I bet that it also affected the moods of the employees - probably adding to the non funness.
-
I know all the PKI thrillseeking fans would like to see it become another park like Cedar Point - but I think they will keep it mostly family oriented - and add a high thrill ride here and there. And Cedar Point is definately "America's Rockin Roller Coast"! Wonder what Kings Island's slogan will be? Oh - on another note - I wanted to buy a pin - and I got a Raptor pin - but I noticed in the shop where I got it - they sold pins for Valleyfair!, Worlds of Fun and Dorney Park.
-
Even before the Cedar Fair buyout I used to say. Ladies and gentlemen - were going to take you up 151 feet and drop you 138 feet at speeds over 55 miles per hour. Were going to take you upside down not once, not twice, not even three times - but six times. Enjoy your ride on Vortex. Welcome back Vortex riders, how was your ride? When your train comes to a complete and final stop, please release your restraint by pulling down first, then pushing up, and exiting to the left. Thank you for riding Vortex and enjoy the rest of your day at Kings Island.

That would be pretty cool. That way each passholder could only bring one friend the whole season - but could choose when to do it. I heard it was extremely packed - and saw a photo of cars parked in the field next to the Boomerang Bay lot. And just about everyone brought someone.
-
I saw the tunnels like last Sunday. They looked about half done - and they looked GREAT. I hope it can keep that way!

Worlds tallest... fastest... kiddie ride!

Worlds tallest... fastest... kiddie ride!
TheKlockster replied to Vortexlover2's topic in Kings Island
Yeah I don't think that's really credible. Now what is credible is that Cedar Fair WISHES they were installing SW1 at Kings Island... -
Yeah that thing looks cool - and I meant to ride it this past Saturday but didn't have time. I don't even know what it does!
-
I can't wait to get back up there. Things I have yet to ride: Wildcat Woodstock Express Wicked Twister Millennium Force Top Thrill Dragster Skyhawk Skyride Sprial Tower Giant Wheel Paddlewheel Monster That spinny ride you can see if you look up while inverted in the Raptor Cobra roll - in front of Blue Streak
-
It is such a great park! Have fun up there! I'll make sure to say hi - I plan on going up a couple times a year at least. Hopefully they will have an Ohio Pass - and if not - I plan on getting a CP pass.
-
If KI gets CP-like uniforms next year - the Smurfs will indeed return... They get blue shorts and a red and blue shirt. If it is cold they get a blue jogging suit thing to wear over it. Shirts and shorts are assigned to you by the park.
-
Wow - its weird that so many people see him up there all the time. I know he does work on Raptor and Demon Drop from time to time - but not usually.
-
It is going to stay that way too. In the press release they said they were interested in keeping Kings Island as a family friendly park.
-
Why type in www3.paramountparks.com when you could just type www.paramountparks.com? Anyhow - it still redirects to www.cedarfair.com. I can't wait for the new Kings Island site! It probably won't be PKI.com...
-
Who can blame them? Cedar Point has always been their flagship park and will continue to be. And rightly so - it is an AWESOME park - way better than Kings Island... I guess it sucks for the PKI Fanboys though, eh Captain Nemo?
