  1. Yeah - I think it listed Raven as like 1:20 or something. But it looks REALLY cool. I wasn't planning on taking a trip out there next season, but that video of Raven changed my mind. I won't ever turn down a chance to ride any coaster. I just dont think Legend looks better than SOB. But I will probably like it. But I seriously think Raven could earn a long term position on my top 5.
  2. I just reviewed the POV video of Raven and Legend. Legend (I think that is the one with the double helix right) looks cool, but kind of short. I the headchoppers look great. I looked at the video for Raven though, and it looks awesome. It looks like it has ejector airtime, and I like how it flies through the woods. I mean, Beast goes through the woods, but there is a really wide area on either side of the track that is clear. Raven reminds me of the speederbike scene from Return of the Jedi. I could have the names mixed up, but on that Discovery Kids thing, they have nine wooden coaster POVs, and of those nine, they have SOB, Beast, Raven and Legend. And one of those, Im pretty sure it was Raven, looks like it could possibly earn its way to my top five. Ill HAVE to go down and take a look next season.
  3. I was sitting next to you the last time you rode Racer (unless as an employee you rode it again after the park closed for the year). It wasn't that bad! It was pretty smooth - on the Klockster Roughness Scale, I would have given it a 6 - which is pretty smooth for The Racer. I felt like I was having a heart attack too, but I figured it was cause I was fat and was walking around the park all day. I had a sharp pain in my side doing the turn around at the end, by the AFXT.
  4. You need to ride slingshot. That is the most extreme ride!
  5. I haven't been to HW yet, so I can't say for sure. But I don't get how Legend or Raven, both of which are like half as long as Beast and SOB can be better than them. I watched the videos at http://kids.discovery.com/games/rollercoas...stervideos.html and I have to say that from the POV videos, I still think Beast and SOB would own the HW woodies.
  6. I did a search for "Independence Day" on Limewire - and downloaded the MP3 ID4 Theme. That part from the lift hill is in the middle - about 2:30 through the song. The song is 9 minutes long if anybody wants to download it and listen for themselves. Independence Day is one of the better movies made in the 90s in my opinion. Its totally B*TCHIN!
  7. People are just too mean to SOB. If you are mean to SOB, he is going to kick your ass!
  8. The Beast's theme is that you are running away from The Beast, through the woods. The SOB theme is that you are in a research lab that is studying the Son of Beast, but it broke out, and you have to find it, before it finds you!
  9. My best memory by far was the Nov 7 Wild Thornberries ride. I also think my first ride on Racer was funny. It was the first coaster I ever rode, and I did it on July 21, and when I got back to the station, I was litterally frozen with fear. But now I like it.
  10. A B&M would be cool. I would like to see a really big Intamin or a B&M. But the odds of getting something non themed are the same as Bush COMPLETELY pulling EVERY troop out of Iraq at 4:00 this evening. Ain't gonna happen... I think we may get another set of scooters eventually, but someone told me that it was a defect that allowed them to snap, so unless we got one of these defective Bisch-Rocco (or whatever its called) scooters, like the Flying Eagles (there are only a few in the world that are snappable), we still wont snap. The only way the snappers will be able to snap is if we get "The Flying Eagles' BACK, and that ain't gonna happen either...
  11. I agree. I was on a ride that I thought was pretty smooth, but other people who were on the same train actually were saying it hurt their neck. All you have to do is keep your shoulders on the back rest, and keep your head slightly forward. Plus on the second hill, between the main drop and the helix, you kind of have to shift around. If you stay still youre going to get your ass kicked. You have to lean to the left, and the right a bunch of times really fast. I also think being tense has a lot to do with it. People get nervous that they are on such a big roller coaster, and get tense, and that makes it all the more worse. Like CYoung2003 said - you just have to know how to ride it. The way you ride a wood coaster is completely different from they way you would ride Vortex or Face/Off. Wood coasters are quite enjoyable if you know what you are doing!
  12. By shockwave, do you mean the one that used to be at SFGA? That looked pretty cool, but I will never be able to ride it as it is torn down. I still can't believe Beast was #47. I wonder why - I thought it was like the most famous Wood Coaster in the world. And SOB didn't even make the cut!
  13. I like the music they play at the entrance. I guess thats the same music for I-Street. Its all movie themes. I like trying to guess what movie it came from. I also like how they play the ID4 theme on Beast - it makes it build up the suspense and everything. The only thing I remember hearing in line at CDBB was this - You're in Down Under Thunder! Are ya ready fer it?
  14. Seat 1.2 is rough! Seat 4.2 is by far the smoothest. Take my word - I have done them all.
  15. Everyone has their own preference. SOB can't be beat. Literally. Its the tallest, fastest and only looping wooden roller coaster in the world. And I like wooden coasters better than steel coasters. And I think SOB is very fun. Heres how I rank coasters at PKI: SOB Beast Vortex Face/off Flight of Fear recaR Top Gun Racer Rugrats Runaway Reptar Ill let you know what my day record is next year when I ride SOB for 14 hours straight.
  16. Can I hear some praise for the most AWESOME ride in the universe? Son of Beast is by far the best ride at PKI. That said - I think its cool that Tremors! from Silverwood made it to number 4. That park is about three hours from where I used to live, in Bozeman, Montana, but I never went. It looks really cool though. If you want to see more about it - go to www.silverwoodthemepark.com. When I go out to visit my parents some time, I am going to swing by and ride thist totally B*TCHIN roller coaster! But I will proably still like SOB better.
  17. They didn't remove PKDs tower. I don't think they will because it has been a symbol of PKI for 30 years. The tower is one of only a few things they could take out and ruin PKIs image in the process, the others being The Beast and The Racer.
  18. I wouldn't plan on the Tower EVER leaving PKI. As far as the Carousel, I also highly doubt it would ever leave. Vortex still has MANY years left in it. The guests LOVE it because its awesome (totally B*TCHIN) and the company loves it cause its a people mover. Good point, CoastersRZ. IJST will be 3000 feet long. Another way of looking at this is that it is 80% as long as Vortex. Anybody on here want to say Vortex is small? IJST will be very fun. Adventure Express is fun, and its shorter, slower and WAY less themed than IJST will be. So I think that IJST will be awesome!
  19. I think it would be cool to get some lighting effects for Vortex. Like lights shining on the corkscrew. I also wish they would bring back those "marching ants" lights that went up the lift hill of Vortex and along the straight part of track on The Racer. I thought those really made the PKI atmosphere a lot more lively. They were there labor day weekend, but then vanished. I figured they had them off for Fearfest, but they weren't on the last weekend, that wasn't Fearfest. I also think they could use more/better lighting during night at Coney Mall. It gets dark through there. And the Eiffel Tower doesn't do that great a Job of illumninating the entire park!
  20. Yes, in the words of a certain spanish-speaking Racer employee, PKIC3 is totally B*TCHIN!
  21. Hanna Barbera - You will be assimilated! Your rides and attractions will be added to our own. Your rides will recieve Spongebob theming. Resistance is futile. Edit: A Jump2 would be awesome at the old Flight Commander platform. The extra height would make it all the more exciting. I don't see why they wouldn't add a Jump2. Its a great ride, and it would be something different from what they have now. Of the really big flat rides, its one of the few we don't have. Although I think an Intamin Giant Observation Wheel would be cool too, but maybe unnecessairy because of the Eiffel Tower.
  22. Here is what I see: 2006 - Small flat ride or waterpark expansion. 2007 - Nick Central recieves the Spongebob Boating Course 2008 - Hanna Barbera Land is assimilated into Nick Central. 2009 - Huss Jump2 added to old Flight Commander platform 2010 - PKI acquires its first B&M
  23. All the crews are great. I am surprised that SOB Gun didn't get more votes. They were a great crew. Same goes for Vortex/Troika. I thought it was "Some like it short and smooth; many more like it long and rough".
  24. Well, PKI has had a couple of unfortunate events, and they probably are strict on safety for this reason. I think its cool CP got a Frisbee XL / Giant Frisbee. Its just a ride. They are buying a ride - not copying us. What defines a park is its ensemble of flats, roller coasters, transportation and observation rides, and water rides. Saying Delirium alone makes PKI PKI, is like saying that what makes Disney Disney is Pirates of the Carribbean.
