My ideal thrill ride involves Drop Zone and a big ass winch - attached to the top, and at the end of the cable would be a big Cat truck - to pull it down. No, actually Drop Zone is cool. And SOB is awesome. I think a coaster like SOB, but bigger (taller and longer) would be great!

I'll give you a lift for a modest fee...

I'm gonna have to go with PSV 34.2. Thats Train 3, Car 4, Seat 2.

PKI to host "Italian Job: Stunt Track" const. tour
TheKlockster replied to Shaggy's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
1 - Adventure Express 2 - Son of Beast 3 - Beast 4 - Top Gun 5 - Face Off 6 - Racer/recaR 7 - Flight of Fear 8 - Vortex 9 - Rugrats Runaway Reptar 10 - Top Cats Taxi Jam 11 - Scooby's Ghoster Coaster 12 - Beastie 13 - Italian Job Stunt Track If you count Racer and recaR as different coasters, then yes, IJST is the 14th. And I personally believe that they are different coasters. However RCDB lists them as one coaster, so IJST is officially our 13th coaster. -
Well the majority of the load-bearing structure is held together with bolts. But there are nails. Like those hand rail things that go alongside the track. Those are nailed. And the track is held down with spikes. So its a mixture of nails and bolts. But the structure is bolted. SOB is the best coaster at PKI. What else can I say?

Call Drop Zones gondola what you like. It sure isn't a rolling stock. And it has many seats. If they were going to do something, we would have heard about it by now. So if they do, it won't be this year. Winterfest might do something like that - but how long is winterfest? I mean are there enough people around here that would go to PKI every day to ice skate to keep it open November, December and New Years?

PKICentral.com Downtime Explained
TheKlockster replied to Dane's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
Awesome! Since I am hosted on Nexigen, will I be seeing some of this new server action? I was at work. Did my site go down too? Not that anybody would have noticed... -
The Best Year Ever thing does not make sense. I mean, its basically covered under "What's your favorite ride?" I could see if there were ONE thread where people could post what they thought was best about this year. But having many different polls about it doesn't make sense. BTW - My Best Year Ever: Best Year Ever Poll Edition is a joke. I don't seriously want to know what you think is the Best Best Year Ever Poll.

They sell 's book at the gift shop at PKI. Its pretty good. A little small though - I know if we all put our heads together, we could write a 500 page volume on PKI. Edit: Speaking of which, who here thinks it would be a good idea? The PKICentral.com guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island? Everyone could contribute reviews and stuff. I think itd be cool.

Thats pretty dumb. I still say the dumbest one I heard was when that lady behind me on SOB realized, on the lift hill, that the ride was tall, and that it had a loop. And she wanted to get off!

Or cover Son of Beast's supersturcture with lights.
-
Heres an even better idea! String a bunch of christmaslights to Drop Zones gondola, and drop it!
-
Is kissing forbidden on the Eiffel Tower? Heres something I never thought about! What about on-ride photography on the Eiffel Tower!
-
Good Idea. Ill just buy a plane ticket to Montana, and go see my family for Christmas. Or not. I will spend my Christmas recoding my website from HTML 4.0 Transitional to XHTML 1.0 Strict. Yeah. Big fun...

Good point! I didn't even notice that! Well obviously, it is somewhere where the track is going from straight to a curve. So judging by the banking, it has to be a helix, or maybe part of the Immelman.
-
Upon closer inspection of the pieces, I think I know where they come from. It looks like the piece on the bottom is from the drop. It is a Dive Machine, so its drop is vertical. The piece on the bottom is where it starts to come out of the drop, and starts to move from vertical to horizontal. The piece on top immediately follows it.

Put something like the red tower from Cedar Point's Power Tower on top of the Eiffel Tower!

What will Ceder Point get in 06'?
TheKlockster replied to The-Snapper's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I think they will get a new coaster called Poseidon, that goes out into the water. It will be the tallest roller coaster in the world, at 512 feet, seven inches. It will be built by Intamin. A hydraulic launch will launch the rolling stock at 62.14 miles per hour. It will then climb up to the top of the 512 foot hill. It will do this, because it will have LSMs going all the way up the climb, so that the rolling stock does not loose speed until the top. After going over the top hat, and down the other side, it will drop back down, and reach 160 miles per hour. It will then go through a 300 foot loop. After a small mid course break run, it will do a huge helix, and some airtime hills. Then its back to the station. Some cool features of this ride are the enclosed trains, the LSM tower and a heartline spin right above lake Erie. -
You KNOW who got my vote!

Yes - it is in Afton Ohio, just up the road from Batavia. Its about five minutes from where I go to school, at UC Clermont. I see them all the time on lunch break, when Im up on the hill. I just happened to have my camera with me. B&M always uses square section steel spine. If you look at the pics, you can see that the spine of the track is square, and not tubular. They just have a certain look to them. If you want to get there and see for youself, go to Batavia. Stay on Main Street (old SR 74) and go east on it. Stay on it, and you'll pass Batavia High School eventually. Keep going a couple miles, and there is a big transmission factory on your right. SOFCO (the place where they make all US B&M track) is across from Old 74 from the factory.

Who would have thought I would spot a B&M dive machine at McDonalds??? Well, I was at the Batavia McDonalds. The one on top of the hill, by Clermont Mercy Hospital. I was with my grandma, and going through the drive through for breakfast. All of the sudden, something caught my eye. I just happened to have my video camera in the back seat. I grabbed the camera, threw open the door, and ran to the front of the building, turning on the camera and hitting record in the process. All the other people in line probably thought I was an idiot. Anyways, I caught a couple seconds of footage. It was unmistakeable. Two pieces of SheiKra - the newest B&M, and newest installment at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay were on the back of a flat bed truck. I have seen this spectacle several times before, but never had got it on film. I got some pictures, and posted them on my website. Click here to go to my gallery. I would have posted the pics in this thread, but don't know exactly where the image was uploaded to on my gallery! So click on that link to view them. I thought it was pretty cool I guess its officially the off season! Edit: I figured it out. Here is one of the pics. But come check out the rest of the site/gallery anyway.

Millenium or Dragster?
TheKlockster replied to The-Snapper's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
My thighs are too big. This is why Pat is bigger than me, but can ride stuff I can't. But I have lost a lot of weight, and will have lost much more by next season. I think all of CPs coasters have a max weight of 225 pounds dont they? Well like I said, I'm losing weight, and will be well under 250 by the time the season at PKI starts in April, and definately by the time I go to CP. So I'm not too worried about it... -
And they have unlimited free soda! PKI charges three bucks for a 20 oz!
-
I always wondered why they didn't put the Flying Eagles on top of the Eiffel Tower. THAT would be the ULTIMATE THRILL!

Millenium or Dragster?
TheKlockster replied to The-Snapper's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I haven't done either yet, but will next season. I think that MF looks better than TTD. MF is more of a real roller coaster.
